BBQ & Chili is fine. But, Distortion should regain tokens by a healing a health state and a safe unhook.

My posts in this thread were a joke. I don't think BBQ should be altered at all. It's powerful and indispensable, but so are certain survivor perks (self care comes to mind).
I don't know why you all are so obsessed with nerfing everything. Worst part about this community by far. If you nerf every perk that does killers (or survivors) any good, the game's not going to be any fun to play.

I run Distortion regularly and I think an easy buff to it would be to just let it replenish all of its tokens every time a gen is popped. Another QoL buff that wouldn't hurt is allowing it to work on Survivors within 8 meters as well so you don't get revealed near teammates and/or Nurse's Calling.

Distortion should be buffed by allowing you to re-gain tokens by escaping a chase. It should also effect any survivors within a 1-meter radius of the perk user. To compensate for this, it should only start with 1 token.

That wouldn't work because some killers like GF and Myers has to STALK to get their power and distortion actually prevents you from being stalked until the token is consumed.

Doing that would only hurt Myers and GF. Probably don't know this but if Distortion activates while they look at you, until the token is consumed, they get no stalk for their power. I can just see Myers Tier 1 getting screwed by this so hard.

We don't need to be nerfing mediocre perks. Thrilling Tremors is better than BBQ by miles away. The only reason BBQ is used is because it gives bloodpoints.

In my opinion buff is this you start of with three tokens and it does the same affects but doing a safe unhook or healing a health state will regain 1 token.

BBQ is good but doesn't need a nerf. It has 4 built in counters you can do that doesn't need a perk or item. As well you'll only get good aura value out of a few select killers.

I think both are fine as they are. While limited use places perks on the low end of selection, situational perks allow for a larger variety in the perspective category. I actually like the feel of finite resources when playing survivor.

I get what you mean about Distortion needing to be buffed, but seriously? Nerfing Barbacue as a trade off for Distortion not getting any love? It's primarily a bloodpoint tool, it doesn't sound or look like it, but it is. You get more uses out the extra bloodpoints than the aura reading. If anything, make We're gonna live forever have a better side tool. Currently it heals survivors 100% while they're dying. That's kinda rare to come by, I think healing a survivor while you're injured should let you see the killer's aura for like 3 seconds. But, even then that's strong.

I hate that killers who don't make an attempt to leave a hooked survivor still get BP stacks. Other then that I don't really have a problem with it, I can just enter a locker for a couple seconds if I'm that desperate to not be seen.

The BP the killer gains is irrelevant to the survivors and the killer leaving to chase/hook other survivors gets them their other stacks...
So I really don't understand that complaint.

You’re one of those people that royally screw this game up for people like me. I play by myself, and have no way of telling people that our hooked teammate just got face camped by an insidious using leather face. It is way more effective than you think it is. Y’all have created an environment in this game that makes it seem like every lobby is a group of 4 man SWF on comms with each other. They have molded this game around that idea, and it’s made it pretty crappy for those of us that play alone.

I don't camp or tunnel so not really (as if the devs would listen to me because I make one or two comments here).
And I cant grasp why the old gymnastics on hook to signal a camping killer came out of fashion since the release of the game. Solo then would use simply tricks to overcome those problems but nowadays everything needs a built in mechanic or a perk to be countered.

There is so many aura reading perks these days (and addons). BBQ is totaly fine and has some counterplay too (lockers). That Jeff perk just needs at least 5 tokens or a way to earn them back during a match.

You may not camp, and tunnel, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t tons of others out there that aren’t doing that exact thing. The point of this being it’s absolute garbage killers get a perk that over powers any survivor aura reading perk, and the one that survivors have is a 3 time use, and it’s gone. If I play 10 matches today 8 of them will have a killer using BBQ, and Chili. They will also be using it to track people to the best of their ability. This BS of “it’s a BP tool” is quite ridiculous.

Every time someone says BBQ needs nerfed, I ask the same question: What would you rather killers use? Tinkerer? Thrilling Tremors? Distortion? Whispers? Please, name the far stronger, uncounterable or semi-uncounterable tracking perk you would prefer killers to use.

I would have no problem giving distortion the option to regain for certain action but making it straight unlimited would brake something. Why wouldn't any survivor run it when it completely blocks 2 killer styles (all seeing wraith, yes outdated with the last buffs and scratched mirror myers), screws 2 killerpowers (Myers and ghostfaceses stalking and every last aura reading perk. Especially without the survivor doing anything for it or it impacting the survivors playstyle (like insidious which is counterproductive outside of camping).
Also about the point of bbq, it already has 4 fricking counterplays. Be in the vicinity, the movement feint, lockers and hiding behind the gen aura. How many have there to be?

Well, either way you look at it, the way it stands now it’s unbalanced. They will nerf a survivor perk because 40 percent of survivors use it, and yet a killer perk that at least 80 percent are running. The add ons are a bit of a different story. Do you even play as survivor? I play a 60-40 split. I have a 3rd prestige Meg I main as survivor, and a 3rd prestige Myers I main as killer. I hit a million BP, and I dump half into each of them. The ######### I get with Myers is hand over fist better than the ######### I get with Meg. I’ll have 3 fragrant tufts of hair, and two Judiths tombstones on the same bloodweb. I’m lucky to get the damn syringe every other blood web with Meg.

The short answer is that, the people who want BBQ nerfed are likely the same people that want Nurse's, Tinkerer, Thrilling Tremors, Whispers, etc. all nerfed as well.

Replenish distortion tokens by escaping chases or being within x meters of the killer for x seconds.

For me the problem is that there are a lot of aura perks that sometimes leaves Distortion feeling pretty weak. So I definitely agree that it could use a bit of a buff.
