How are we feeling about Blast Mine?
At first, playing against it I kinda just laughed it off, but now it's getting rather annoying having to deal with a stun AND blind (basically getting punished) for attempting to defend your generators as killer... if this starts to become a frequently used perk, I can definitely see an increase of killers resorting to using Ruin/Undying over PGTW so that they don't have to kick generators.
I don't feel it's that huge of a deal if only one survivor uses it (though can still be fairly annoying), but when there's 2 or more survivors using it, there's potential of being stunned by it like 3-4+ times per match.
That's just my thoughts, how are y'all feeling about it?

There's another effect that you didn't know about. It lasts for 5 full seconds and during, you cannot move, attack or use any special attacks or abilities. You're just stuck in place. It also deafens you so you barely tell if they're still on the gen, also.

I feel like the only time you're really getting punished is if you break off a chase to kick a gen instead of going for the down. It also doesn't counter pop, you can still pop it right after.

It seems mostly fine, but I feel like there should be a tell of some description.

It a bit of a trade off though, since the killer has to kick it again, they waste more time on it that they could use chasing or patrolling the other gens, every second counts after all.
Regardless, i think the perk is fine, it requires a lot of gen progress to get it, and you will get at best 1 or 2 mines per match, unless youre REALLY active on the gens

Nothing, if anything it's a bad survivor perk that has no use honesty. I had used on me a couple of times, but it just stuns you and that's it. I kicked the gen and move on looking for survivors. And regardless I already am seeing killers use the same perks ruin with undying or pop. So I don't think eruption gained traction and replaced ruin, even though I think it could have some potential.

It’s a fair and balanced perk, much needed after decisive strike nerf.
4 -
Right, but with the stun and the damage animation in total means you're then spending 7 seconds total at the generator if you do decide to kick it again after the stun, which again, isn't a huge issue if it only happens once in the game, but if it does happen like 3-4+ times because multiple people are using it, that's going to stack up a lot.

It's a meme of a perk. Seems fun to use but it's pretty obsolete, plus it's hard countered by Ruin which is already a meta perk.
It does buy more time for the survs, a bit more time.
7 -
I enjoy using it on the last gen after 99'ing it. It's pretty funny to watch them kick it then pop it in their face then running away xD

I hate facing the perk, because it's just annoying.
1 -
Slightly annoying when it happens but imma still kick that gen though

The perk is fine. Annoying, but still fine. It’s a meme perk at best.
Remember that if a survivor is using the perk, it takes up a perk slot for other perks like DH, DS, UB, BT, IW, SC.
Not so bad now is it? :D

True , it can stack up to wild numbers but what I do like about Blast Mine is that it pressures the killer to play more aggressively. Instead of situations where the killer rolls up to you on a gen, ignores you to use pop, and then either follows your scratch marks (or just sees you during the animation), and they are on you again. With Blast Mine, the killer has to wager losing you completely.
Pop is not a joke, it's really good and having a perk that doesn't completely stop them from using it, but forces a risk on them, I don't find that bad. Obnoxious, sure but I wouldn't say it's game breaking.

I think it's fine. Ruin counters it pretty well (at least while it's up). And a killer may not even kick gens. (I did blind this poor huntress three times last night with them. No wonder she kept throwing hatchets at me after finally hooking me in end game. That or she was practicing, cause she missed a lot of shots)
1 -
Might need a nerf later probably 3 second stun

If you don't get to the gen fast enough, it can counter it very heavily since you get stunned, and during this stun the timer for POP still goes down. So if you're too slow you could end up losing your POP.

Good! I was going to pop (PGTW) a gen that would’ve won me the game very easily, but blast mine countered me and they completed it right in front of my face.
And no, I’m not being sarcastic. Same thing with survivors, the incapacitated effect has destroyed my whole game plan as a survivor too, and I’m the usual type to get into a chase on purpose.
I don’t think it’ll be meta, but it’s a good gimmicky perk that like Eruption, could work in 3 gen scenarios and in a deciding factor.
2 -
My question would be: what was going on in those 40 seconds before walking up to the gen at last moment?
3 -
Lightborn all the way.

Blast Mine is a great perk with versatility. It even has an amazing use if the killer DOESNT proc the mine. A survivor can plant it on the gen but if it expires they get it back instantly; it also highlights the gen's aura in yellow for the entire team.
It's a better Better Together. My team has used it to pick which gen to do and where to get healing if they need it.
It's a strong perk with meme potential. Don't change it.

Annoying but harmless.
2 -
Annoying. Now I have to kick the gen twice to apply Pop. I'm already pressed for time as it is. At the very least, apply pop when I first kick the gen. I'm still blinded and all.
1 -
Lol it’s awesome. It’s nice to make killers actually have to work and be more aware.
4 -
Is there a way to be aware that Im unaware of? Is there some trick to countering it im unaware of?
1 -
Flashlight is D tier, Blast Mine is B tier if used correctly.
0 -
Fine, for the most part, I do feel bad for anybody that has light sensitivity since you dont have any time to shield your eyes from it. I also find it kind of annoying you cant kick the gen while you are blinded, but that's just a nitpick.
0 -
Having to pressure other survivors. The killers can't be in two places at once.
0 -
Dedicating 40 seconds, getting nothing out of it, only to then ditch it to kick a gen sounds like a critical misplay than having anything to do with blast mine.
The mine just rubs salt on the wound.
0 -
then what would be the point of the perk other than memes?
0 -
I don’t see a pay off that often, really. It’s not bad, but I’d rather use the slot for other perks.
1 -
I see it as a meme perk since it really doesn't do much. It can buy a little bit of time for survivors, but not much. The killer can also just wait out the blind duration and kick the gen again.
0 -
I love it, considering the sudden influx of wraiths recently.
0 -
...then what would be the point of the perk tf? It's supposed to catch you off guard, if it had a tell it would be completely useless.
2 -
I like that it can act like map wide Better Together.
0 -
I think the stun duration is to long, a 5s stun with blindness and deafening you is just really damn strong. Sure it's no dead hard but it shouldn't be more than 3s stun if you ask me.
1 -
Depends how many people are using it and if Ruin is in play ofc. Personally i've moved away from Ruin / Undying to Corrupt / Pop on just about every killer since 9 outa 10 games Ruin will pop before the first gen does so it's also very anoying. Problem is if enough people are using it the 28 seconds you loose can pretty much be the entire last gen if they 4 man it...
It's also kinda a buff to the Hold W meta wich is despise with a passion...

If it’s bothering you use Surge. Don’t need to kick gens when you’re popping them with every down. Better yet just use Ruin, Undying, Surveillance, and Surge. Never touch a gen again. Make them waste their perk slot.
0 -
I personally almsost feel like it should be an item and not a perk
0 -
Lol I wanted to do this with Repressed Allience. Bait them to go there, blast mine their face and quickly block it :DD
0 -
We don’t need a new perk to replace something that was obscenely broken. There is a reason for why the developers fixed Decisive Strike.
2 -
Yesterday I played with another survivor that used Blast Mine on a gen. The killer kicked it whilst I was hiding behind the gen and I placed another trap on it while he was stunned. He got double stunned. Feel kinda bad but was funny.
0 -
I maybe get 1 or 2 uses out of it in a match, if anything it just acts as a more effective Better Together seeing as I can tell my teammates which gen I'm on as long as I have Blast Mine active.
0 -
Fixed? They heavily nerfed it. It serves no point. The killers refused to stop tunneling and complained enough for the devs to nerf it.
2 -
No. The perk serves its purpose - anti-tunnel. In my opinion it could use a +1 on usages per Survivor, so a Survivor can use it once for every time they can get unhooked instead of once per trial.
But being able to sit on a generator unpunished was game breaking.
Being able to reset a chase for nothing except one perk slot was also game breaking.
Now Decisive Strike is good, and fair. It should have a double-usage in my opinion, but we still don’t need a perk to replace any of its extremely broken previous versions.
2 -
It was only broken if you tunneled. Was it hard to go for someone else?
0 -
I know when I've played killer it's quite annoying.
Thing is though it can get 0 use in some games. My mate ran it for 4 hours last night and never got it to work once. Basically because every single game had ruin or when they didn't the killer never kicked gens.
0 -
That's so toxic xD I love it.
0 -
How does it work? ie. what does this mean? "After repairing Generators for a total of 66 %, Blast Mine activates".
0 -
Does lightborn counter it?
0 -
I chased the survivor off gens, down him, put him on hook, and come back.
Boom! I got hit with the mines.
