Anybody notice how BHVR fixes cosmetic mixing super quickly rather than focusing on the bigger issue
So I recently noticed that not even a week after the RE chapter was released, BHVR patched the bug for delinking those sets. While their game was having server issues that screw players out of their items, add ons, their BP, and their time. Even today I got a merciless game on Nemesis and once it ended, I got a player level error message and I didnt get anything from that match. Anybody know why they don't prioritize bigger issues over stupid cosmetic delinking?

BHVR is not one person managing the game. It has many different people in different roles, so one person fixing a seemingly insignificant bug (set breaking) isn't taking precedence over much larger issues (server management, game breaking bugs, etc).
It's like when people complain that "why are they making cosmetics and not fixing bugs!! reeeee". Apparently they don't understand that the same people who are graphic artists and designers aren't qualified to program, nor did they sign up to.
Also, it's likely for legal reasons. The Silent Hill cosmetics are all linked for the same reason.

Cosmetics make money, although a functioning game makes people want to play and also spend money which does the same thing. They must make sure cosmetics can't be tainted and you spend the extra $4 for some hair with a single strand in a different place.

BHVR is the overall company responsible for DBD. Thus all of these changes must go through an approval process or they have a certain schedule, I would assume. That means all changes to the game would need to be approved before being released. This also means that the person managing these teams is pushing for these money grabbing changes to be put in before changing the quality of the game.

the thing about that is the playerbase has openly said many, many times to just fix the big bugs. Fix the things that need to be fixed. A mixed cosmetic does not break the game. Meanwhile there are issues with the servers and the game itself that need to be fixed that they just aren't fixing

because it is easier

I am pretty sure the player level update isn't on behavior but on your ip. If you can, Change your DNS to the Google server and the player level update will be a thing of the past.
As for the cosmetics, I'm pretty sure it's a liscensing thing. Most of the liscense owners want there characters to stay true to the original (for the most part) so they don't want people mixing and matching sets. IMO they should make the legendary linked skins cost less if they use the any of the cosmetics from the base model, but I also don't know what the licensing deal is.

I agree that they should stop adding and refine what they already have in game, since them adding tends to break things that aren't even related sometimes. With the way their code works I could very well see how a mixed cosmetic breaks something despite not being related.

I don't want to defend any of the current errors or the cosmetic situation, but linking cosmetics is a way easier problem to fix than figuring out what's causing all these optimization issues, what broke Clown, why is the Temple of Purgation impassable to certain killers, why are survivors getting stuck on vaults, and patching them. They patched that immediately because they could patch it immediately, and also because if it was a licensing agreement with Capcom, they were being expected to handle that ASAP.

The complaints about cosmetics vs bugs is more of demand that they reduce funding on the art side and put more funds and manpower into the game health side.

Weren't glitched outfits a thing for several months? I wouldn't call that super quick. Also different teams manage different parts of the game so no point in complaining to the bug team when they don't even deal with cosmetics.

What makes most money? That is all bhvr cares about nowadays. They know almost nothing about playing their own game. They tweeted for players to use two exhaustion perks a few weeks ago as the “best build”. Lol

I'm not sure if they changed anything about mixing linked cosmetics but I do notice that it's a little bit harder to glitch cosmetics by "switching and click spamming". Totally doable, tho.
I just glitched Yun-Jin Lee's top after using her head to glitch the Chris Redfield set.

they fixed the mixed outfits with the RE sets near immediately. Other sets can still be delinked such as the SH sets.

how do i change to the google servers?

The glitch still works. Ive just done it.

Not really... a more accurate description would be that they changed the classic Jill and RE4 Leon outfits into linked sets, which I suspect was their original intention, but they can still be (kind of) mixed and matched, just like the Silent Hill sets.

Just Google how to change dns to Google server. It should tell you to change your ipv4 to 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4. It should have instructions for changing I through ethernet and wifi. I don't know if they have a way for console or not. Hope this helps

Probably could have resulted in legal issues with Capcom.

You are acting as if all Bugs require the same effort to fix.
ALWAYS when Bugs are fixed, people come to the Forums "Look, BHVR can fix Bug A, but they cannot fix Bug B!".
Some things are easier to fix than others. So either those get fixed first and more severe Bugs (which require more effort or knowledge to fix) stay longer OR they leave all Bugs in the game until they can fix all of them.
You can decide which method makes more sense...
