I just spent like 50 USD on Auric Cells to get maximum value out of the sale. Here's my experience.
My filthy American currency allowed me to get pretty much every killer on the roster. I held out on Spirit, Nemesis, Twins and Trickster for various reasons.
Here are my first impressions on pretty much every killer:
The Shape: Actual garbage. The aggressive playstyle is made extremely painful by the lack of anti-loop, detection, or mobility in his basekit. Unless you have some great perks, or just really like him, don't play this guy. At all.
The Nightmare: Didn't really get a good experience for what his baseline is. I was on Haddonfield whenever I played him somehow, and I was determined to make some use of dream pallets. It went about as well as you would expect.
The Plague: Feels like she could be really powerful in the hands of someone with a lot more experience with her. Time management is a bit more important than with most killers. Great perks.
The Hag: Literally just camping. That is her only strength. Even Trapper can leave the area to an extent. Not to say that Hag isn't strong, I just don't like her gameplay style.
The Legion: Feels nice sometimes. That's about all I can say about them. They're not strong, but they aren't total garbage.
The Blight: Stiff learning curve, but super fun and super strong. Survivors weirdly tend to be a bit nicer to baby Blights than any other killer.
The Oni: Unwieldly, with pretty bad perks, but strong as #########. Like, jeez. You actually feel like you're playing as an ogre demon warlord.
Keep in mind that these are my first impressions of these killers, so I don't have any good perks or add-ons yet.

The shape isn’t THAT bad but it is kinda hard to justify him over Bubba these days. You gotta mess around for ~20-30 seconds staring at people where Bubba just has a super strong 1 shot right off the bat.
At the end of the day he still has a 1 shot although Ghostface with Lethal Pursuer just spanks him cause he can get the stealth 1 shot off in the first 15~ seconds of the game.

The fact that he's made completely obsolete by two different killers is kinda egregious.
He desperately needs a rework.

Freddy is pretty strong killer. Pallets are fun but snares are him real power and teleporting ofcourse. With good perks, you will get so much 4Ks as him.
2 -
I understand that. I want to play with him a bit more in the future, but the low skill ceiling lowers the appeal for me.
I love the ability to come after survivors from completely unexpected angles, but I prefer killers who have a power that changes the gameplay from the basic "M1 killer but slightly different," and his snares and pallets just aren't cutting it for me.
I see the appeal, but Doc with Order and Calm can fill almost any role he can.
If they brought old Freddy back with a couple buffs, I would definitely play him a lot.

Not obsolete since he has the tombstone piece, which is still ridiculously strong. His 1 shot still makes him better than a ton of killers because he can cut chases in half and secure kills easily.

Utilizing shape's base perks help pick up his slack. STBFL makes him a divebombing nightmare, and PWYF gives him a very useful speed boost. As long as you've learned when to stalk and when to just chase, he's very strong. Only problem is his best addons rely on small maps.
You're spot on with your assessment with Blight.
Oni matches for me are always a slow burn, but he is absolutely the power trip killer of choice.
Also, you spent fifty bucks to get all these killers but... you know the Killer edition is only thirty right?

Even though I like new Freddy all old Freddy needed in my opinion was to halt the survivors repairing or cleansing when being pulled into the dream world. The amount of time they had to finishing cleansing a totem or finish the gen during the transition period was his big weakness to me.

Was there a sale of the auric cells? :O
1 -
Well, I didn't just buy killers.
I also wanted killer skins.
Specifically the Look-See skin.
Also, I didn't have very much money to spend when I got the game.
Just wanna mention, those two perks are good on pretty much any M1 killer. He gets the most use out of them, for sure, but they're just generally great perks.

No, but all characters from before All KIll are/were half price, with All Kill characters being 25% off.

Oh okay, I was afraid I missed something like an auric cell discount xD
1 -
Ha ha, the devs would never do that. They have to give a good deal of the money they get from Cells to the license holders.
If they sold them at a discount, they would be selling them at a loss.

Maybe you're just playing The Shape wrong? Hear me out.
The Shape is really good for two play styles - Perma T1 via Scratched Mirror or End Game.
In Perma T1 you have constant wall hacks and no TR so it's easy to get grabs or surprise hits. Even in the more open maps once you learn how to navigate the areas to not be seen you can get hits and grabs on totally in-the-open generators. It's a hard playstyle to adjust to compared to other Killers, the slowness alone is often quite painful, but once you get it down it is very satisfying.
On an end game build your goal isn't to get to T3 as early and as often as you can, you use it sparingly. You want out of T1 as soon as possible though, yes. But once out of T1 you stalk to 99 and then wait, getting hits and downs as you go but don't pop T3 until either you have two Survivors together or you have someone healthy who has already been hooked once. In the first scenario you can often easily down one, slug them and chase the other. If they are in a dead zone you've got two people now and even if they are not in a dead zone they are going to make that area a dead zone pretty darn fast to try and slow you down. In the second scenario you get an easy down and will likely get a kill because most Survivors wait out the T3 instead of going for the save, even if you are not camping. If they don't wait it out you can often get a hook trade if you're feeling generous or just stop the unhook.
The Shape CAN be played aggressively, but it is not his strongest kit. His insta-down is not meant to be used like the other insta-down Killers. You need to be more strategic with it, because you have a limited use of it.
The big issue that people overlook is that Stalking Survivors from a distance is really bad. You get less Evil Within the further away you are. If you can get right up next to a Survivor, which isn't all that hard in T1, then it only takes a few seconds to get out of T1 and into T2. And if you forego getting a hit you can easily get into your first T3 off of a single Survivor really early. This is without either of the two gain rate add-ons and with them it is even faster.
Another thing most people don't consider if that in T2 you only have a 16 meter TR, this makes it much easier to sneak up on people for Stalk or hits than with other M1 Killers. Also in T2 you vault ever so slightly faster than normal which can really throw off some Survivors if you time it right, especially in Shack. And never underestimate the power of a double vault at an L wall, this is often better than moonwalking because people rarely ever do it so no one really expects it.
The Shape does have an aggressive playstyle that can work when done right but they are better suited to a longer game play style. When playing The Shape you need to be willing to lose three or even all five gens before your first kill but he's a very heavy snowball Killer. Slap on Blood Warden and you can go from a 0k to a 4k out of no where. Won't win you any Gatekeeper points but The Shape is not the Killer to be playing if you want to pip. No insta-down Killer is who you want to be playing if you want to pip.

I didn't have any BP saved when I got him, so I didn't get to play with his strongest add-ons or with any good perks.
I did have a little bit of fun with M&A and Dead Rabbit, though.

There is literally no reason to play tier 1 Myers over wraith these days. Both get wallhacks but wraith is 150% speed and has a massive lunge. With silent bell he is strictly better.
I think the best way to play Myers is just tombstone people, or run him with the hair bow and ensure each tier 3 someone is getting messed up. If you pop it on someone and instantly hook them hair bow let’s you get them to half with impunity since you will still have like 75 seconds left.
I never M1 with him unless I have my 1 shot ready. I don’t use any late game builds because keys counter them too hard.

Yeah, he's not the best without some BP in him. As far as "First impressions" go you're not wrong. But I want people to be aware that The Shape is a niche Killer that has a different game play style to other Killers. I, personally, find him really super fun because of how different he plays when compared to other Killers. Playing The Shape is a nice refresh when I get tired of other Killers.
Dead Rabbit is super fun. People always panic about how close you are when they hear the TR, it's great.

I understand.
Honestly, thank you for contradicting me. In the event that some new player stumbled across this thread, I wouldn't want them to be completely misinformed.

Freddy is the strongest killer in the game statistically. He has the highest kill rate.
0 -
I know he's strong, I just didn't get a very good idea of how he usually handles.
0 -
How do you have 1200 posts but don't know a lot of those killer's powers yet?
0 -
because he posted a bunch before getting them? seeing it in action and actually using them is not the same thing.
it's not hard to understand...
I think you aren't playing hag properly if you think her area of action is smaller than trappers.
I recommend you check out @Michi for some tips on her, they are the best hag player I have ever seen.

I can only play DBD between the hours of 8:00 and 10:00.
Plus, I didn't have a lot of money lying around when I got the game.
I got these killers because this was an excellent opportunity to make a big, stupid investment.

Doesn't matter. He's not, and we all know he's not. He's low A tier.
1 -
I mean he's extremely over tuned. Basically every killer dreams of being able to teleport to any gen with a strong anti-loop.

True.
