If dbd is so survivor sided, why are most matches ….
A 4K for the killer across ranks? The stats show the majority of games are in favor of the killer, and that over 70% are 4k rounds. How can people say the game is at all survivor biased when the data shows otherwise?

Most people here are killer mains, they end up getting a 3k instead of a 4K then the come here and cry.

First of all, "the stats" are highly unreliable, and more of a novelty.
Second, hardly anyone who regulars these forums believes the game is biased towards a particular side. There are some exceptions, but those are balanced out by coming for and from both sides of the spectrum.

We know that the game is survivor sided when it's top tier survivors. But, the majority of the game is casual with non-competitive survivors who crouch in corners and hide in lockers. So when there's low tier survivors this game can go for killers. Why I believe the game isn't as one-sided as everyone makes it out to be

I don't believe its either sided actually. I think its incredibly balanced, definetely more balanced than in previous years

Firstly, that isn't what the data said. The average killrate was roughly 60%, the only killers with 70% were Freddy and Bubba because of how easy they are to play, how easily they destroy newer players, and how strong they were. You're just cherry picking to make your point look better. Nurse, Demo and Blight had the lowest killrates, which says enough about the accuracy of those stats.
Secondly, the data is inherently flawed because it didn't take into account any of the extra factors which decide match outcomes. It didn't take into account DCs, moris, maps, add-ons, matchmaking, SWF, people killing themselves on hook, perks, etc. The stats are not something to use in terms of a balance discussion because they intrinsically do not reflect the state of the game. If these stats were correct, then we would have seen heavy nerfs to Doctor, Freddy and Bubba, and buffs to Nurse and Blight.

Because most survivors are bad and can't compete with a good killer. At high levels the game is survivor sided, but judging by your posts, you aren't even close to that level yet.

As a Killer main, I can confirm this. Most people who play killer lose a match or two and then assume the problem is the game, not their own skill.
Both sides have advantages, some fair, others not so fair (keys and Freddy lunges, to name only two)
Everyone on these forums need to hurry up and grow some thicker skin. At the end of the day, it comes down to wether or not you had fun.

Because when you dont take into account competitive level teams its actually not survivor sided and rng play a huge role

Technically, the game is very balanced.
At the top end of the scale, it's survivor sided.
At the bottom end, it's killer sided.
Sorry if you're a killer in red ranks though, sucks to be you. It's balanced though.

It's because most survivor are pretty bad at the game.Combine this with crappy matchmaking and you'll see why kill rates are so high.
However if you put 4 really good survivors against a killer things will look completely different.
The game balance is mostly fine in your average public game but pretty much breaks in really high level/comp level gameplay

Why do you think Freddy's lunge is an unfair advantage? It's literally the exact same as any other killer's lunge. He's just a small guy with a small weapon, so it looks a bit wonky when it uses the same hitbox as the Great Knife.

Well, I know I myself rely on sight to help escape the killer, and I've faced my fair share of Freddies. When he swings around a corner, misses by a solid in game foot, and still downs you, it can feel a bit ridiculous.

Because it's much easier for 1 player to get good at their role and have consistent positive results opposed to have 4 players all be good and also be put together into the same lobby. Survivors at the top tier gameplay are significantly stronger than any killer played at top tier level but only some 0,1% of survivor teams play at such level.
Luckily, you don't need to play at that level, you just need to be decent at playing survivor to beat almost all killers but in the end you're still only 1/4 of your team. If there's some meghead in your team who wastes resources and dies extremely fast, she's condemning your whole team to a loss. 1 bad player is far more detrimental to a team then 1 good player.
Just look at the stats and you'll see that killers like pig and freddy at the best in terms of killrate while nurse is the worst yet nurse is the best killer in the game. That shows that difficulty to play at top level is just as hard for killers as it's for survivors. Most killers are bad at nurse which lowers her killrate even whe she's the best killer. Same for survivors, playing them perfectly makes them near unbeatable for any killer but basically no survivors play at that level since it's difficult to reach that height of optimal gameplay (basically impossible in solo).
Simply said, survivors are 4, killer is 1. He doesn't depent on other 3 idiots messing up his match, making his lose by default.

Yeah because we dont know what kinda metrics this "data" is using so the results are kinda skewed. Plus many survivors aren't as good as they think they are, archive challenges skew results since the goal to survive gets ignored, and survivors will Dc/kill themselves for no reason at all sometimes also inflating kill rates.

I actually disagree with this point. I watch quite a few competitive games and in comp matches, and it seems to me that at a really high level the game is actually balanced with no side really being at an advantage or disadvantage.
Now I know that the response is that only a few killers are played at high ranks, and while that's true, keep in mind that comp is always going to lean towards the perceived strongest killers because that's what competitive means, they're trying to use and abuse every mechanic and that means that there will always be preferred killers.

That’s great but many of us have lives, jobs, families outside dbd so we don’t have time or the desire to play 6 hours a day just to win. Any other ideas?

Cause most survivors are potato and cause each other to die. Killers get kills cause survivors screw themselves most of the time.

It only becomes survivor sided at the highest ranks and with swf, but that doesnt mean that those high ranks cant get bodied or that a swf will always do better then a full team of randos. Everyone math is different and there is a lot of rng in the game, even a top 1% survivor wouldn't be able to do much in a dead zone against a killer that's at least fairly competent, and top 1% killer can still lose to players with only a couple hundred hours if the map is stacked against them enough.

No, it makes sense, its called selection bias. Everyone does it. I think OP should take into consideration all stats not just lower ranked and anecdotal evidence.

The stats are the way they are because Killers can force at least a 1k significantly more often than Survivors can force a 1 escape.

Provide the stats then! Video evidence. I hear about these struggling killers and I don’t see it. Not in my game play solo or swf, and not on streams or YouTube. Just because you say something is so, doesn’t make it reality my friend.

Because there are always more NEW players than old ones. New Players don't know what they are doing yet, and the Killer starts more powerful but grows weaker as the Survivors learn how to cooperate and coordinate. Thus, in the weaker Ranks the Killer wins more, in the middle Ranks it evens out, and at potent Ranks the Survivors have the edge. Because there is always a glut of Potatoes, it skews the numbers. The DEV, however, can filter by Ranks and get rid of the white noise to know where the average Players and kill ratios really rest.

If all four survivors are at the same level as the killer then survivor wins. Solo survivor is the problem for survivors since one bad player destroys a whole team.
Also since killer is harder a lot of bad to normal skilled players simply give up on playing killer. This is why I think there are more skilled players among the killers. Survivor is just skill checks on gens and hold a button for totems etc, it's pretty easy gameplay that is why bad players stick around and really makes solo surviving a nightmare.

Yes its killer favoured because bad survivors are in ranks they dont belong. Seriously half the red rank players shouldn't be near the rank they are. It's not defensive I'm just tired of these silly discussions. Wait till we actually have mmr, if players arent doing gens, dont understand tiles and cant lead on a chase then why should they be at red rank? Seriously I get teammates that last 5seconds on the game map. Its filled with god pallets. Most survivors are terrible that's why killers win. If survivors actually know how to play the killer loses.

You're clearly new and have lots to learn. Some of us have been rank 1 for 4+ years, I promise you the only reason I lose as a survivor is because or a terrible team bot because of the killer. I would share my many captures of rank 1 players not doing anything and going down in seconds for no reason. But my settings are private because I dont want a bunch of hate mail from players that cant play well and still trash talk because they lose. If killer is so easy play it. We need more killer players.

The game is survivor sided at the highest level of play, something the Depip Squad proved years ago.
However, most trials have nothing to do with the highest level.

Because the survivor bias doesn't occur until the highest level of play and a majority of the playerbase doesn't play at that level.
Something I wish certain content creator would get through his skull when he prattles on about how unbalanced the game is.

Data has always confirmed that solo queueing is usually killer sided cause it just takes one bad player to do so, its just not as cut and dry as you think it is. Correct me if Im wrong but it seems that you haven't put too much time into this game and after a few bad matches, you're blaming the game for being to one sided.

The problem with this logic is if it were true then every killer would be red rank. They arent.
The way it actually works for the killer side is you hit a wall where you cant win any games or will lose most games until you figure out what that wall is and how to get past it. Before hitting that wall, yes its very easy. You'll hit multiple walls on your climb up the ranks.
Want to know the wall between purples and reds? The thing that seperates red rank killers and purple rank killers? Throwing the survivor rule book in the trash. Thats it. Thats the final wall. There are several walls before that, like learning loop patterns, learning how to split pressure, learning how to high your red stain, knowing when to snowball. The only time the game is killer sided is between these walls. Once you get past that last wall you hit rank 1, then you realize theres no more walls, its just survivor sided and you need rng and altruism in your favor to beat stupid good teams
