Are we going to have dedicated servers any day?

Mathew announced it at game awards. Maybe for summer.0

I dont think it will ever happen, apparently the game would have to be rebuilt from the ground up, the chances of that happening are slim to none at this point.
Imo we are more likely to see an announcement for a DBD 2 in the next year or two with dedicated servers being a selling point for the game.

Probably not.

With their ideas of changing matchmaking it seems like dedicated servers are becoming more of a possibility.
I wouldn’t hold my breath though.0 -
Yeeeeah dedicated servers are coming thanks devs ;D0

If you think dedicated servers are the solution, you gonna have a bad time.Angelicus23 said:Yeeeeah dedicated servers are coming thanks devs ;D5 -
Servers might not be close to your geographic location.ad19970 said:@Tsulan said:

What do you mean?
There might be region lock.
You could still have lag. Maybe even a harder time to fill lobbies.
And on top of that we might get monthly fees.2 -
Well that was a surprise lol, time to eat my hat, to be honest I never thought it would happen after all they have said, guess anything is possible!
It will be great for us living in countries with good player number, those further afield could have issues whom I feel sorry for, at least it may help with other issues, finally.

And on top of that we might get monthly fees.Yes, because it is much better to rely on a "host - killer", that this time you will be lucky and he will not lag switch and everything will be fine with his Internet. And also jump 10 times from the lobby to the lobby to find a normal ping. What desire and mood to win for the survivor can be discussed under such circumstances?
I play several games with dedicated servers, lags almost never happen, it all depends on how the developers do their job + I have adequate matchmaking and stable good ping. Of course, BHVR can do its job badly and things will get worse, but I hope for the best.1 -

Wow, this is a surprise. Who would have thought...?
I'm talking about my own experience, because I live in an appropriate place. Even if I lived somewhere far from the central parts of the world and had a ping of 150-200, it is still better than P2P in my opinion.0 -

The majority of people pushing for dedicated servers act like they're some magic pill that's gonna fix everything.
For people living in, say, Australia, it's not gonna be 150-200 if they don't get servers. It's gonna be anywhere from a third to half a second.1 -

Well, I can only sympathize with the Australians, if this happens, it is possible that it is better not to play the game at all than to “enjoy the charms” of the P2P system.

Here's hoping the devs remember us Aussies.

If I were the devs, I'd aim for a hybrid system: P2P for KYF and dedicated servers for normal gameplay.

Well, yeah, that's the point. It will even improve the game's longevity, since P2P doesn't require maintenance.

You complain about lag switching like it would be a regular thing.go1gotha said:@Tsulan said:

I've played over 1000 hours and I can count lag switchers on 1 hand.
Lag =/= Lag switching.
If you have regular lag spikes, then the dedicated servers won't solve your problem.0
