And the devs continue to be quiet
Okay sorry but now it's just annoying. After all these bugs since the updates, all these posts here the devs are still quiet.....
They don't learn from the past and it shows that this game is doomed. Big problems are still getting ignored, feedback is getting ignored, no informations for us. The only thing we get are more and more bugs, errors, performance issues and bad chapters to press money out of us.

There's supposed to be a hot fix later today. No details yet. They usually don't give details till just a bit before an update.

Tomorrow being today (Tuesday).

"First Bugfix" How is a company like bhvr not able to fix everything in one update?
13 -
Considering they have to release updates 3 weeks in advance to go through certification, I think i may have a slight idea.
8 -
Do you really think that every Bug requires the same effort to be fixed? Some Bugs are really easy fixes, others are way more difficult. Sometimes BHVR is not even able to recreate the Bugs on their end, which makes it take longer to fix them (because they dont know what is causing them).
So either they release a first Bugfix and fix SOME of the Bugs, or, they wait until they can fix all of them and release a Fix in one Patch, which means that some Bugs stay in the game longer than needed. It should be quite clear which option is the right one.
16 -
Push out an update to fix the major bugs that affect everyone and are easy to pin-point, save small bugs for a later patch.
9 -
What do you mean by "a company like bhvr"? They have 600 employees total, that includes executives, PR staff, and so on, not just programmers working specifically and exclusively on DbD.
7 -
Console and crossplay doomed this game to glacial balance and game updates
5 -
The people who make posts aren't programmers. Or are you saying you want PR staff to try to program the game?
Post edited by Gay Myers (Luzi) on2 -
They have PR staff? If so they need to start doing some PR.
15 -
I mean, you get endless costumes for broken bugged out characters. You also get an infinite amount of useless Twitter posts asking utterly pointless questions.
What more do you want!?
4 -
I wonder how other console developers manage to release games in an acceptable condition and then patch them while being held to the same conditions as other developers for the format?
Thankfully games like Anthem, Cyberpunk and Fallout are outliers and ridiculed for it.
13 -
Do you know how bug fixes work like.....
AT ALL?
Some people really think they know everything when they dont know a single thing.
4 -
while I agree with your original statement/point of view, this remark is just silly really.
1 -
Why would they talk to us anymore than they absolutely have to? Have you "met" us? I wouldn't talk to us either. :) As a general rule, talking to us has become a lose/lose proposition. When they give us a heads up we complain and demand changes, and then are even angrier if they don't listen to us. If they just release or do things and then wait, they get the same complaints, but all in one round. Do you see where I'm going with that? This so-called community has made it pointless to be transparent. They are damned if they do and damned if they don't. The only difference is the damned if they don't is a shorter cycle. They opt for the path of least irritation.

Maybe it would help. They certainly do a bad job in their own field given the let things like the colorblind pr fiasko happen. And that wasn't the first time a post on a social media platform resulted in a shitstorm.
Aren't pr departments also responsible for stuff like that?
0 -
No. What they are allowed to say comes from a higher position. They probably knew that Colorblind-Features were on their way, however, as long as it is under NDA, they cannot say anything about it, they are not allowed to do so.
7 -
They’re probably quiet because it’s better for them to use their time for all the urgent bug fixes needed to ready for the upcoming hot fix.

There's a big thing here with the word "devs" - this pretty much encompasses everybody that works on the game, including myself. And I'm on this forum 5 days out of 7 (I don't work weekend, but I do pop in during the weekend).
I pass on as much information as I'm able to, confirming things as and when I can - as shown yesterday confirming that there will be a hotfix patch today.
Sometimes there's not too much to say, right now we have a message on this forum confirming that we are looking into the issues that arose with the latest patch, and that it's being worked on. Until solutions are found, tested and ready for release there's really not much to say about it.
Many things are being worked on, including fixes, upcoming content, changes to current content - and a lot of these things are in prototype phases where no final decision has been made, and we typically do not say we're working on these things as then people get excited and expect them to be released straight away, when in reality it's some months off. We've already said we're working on changes to mori's & keys and that they are part of a larger rework for example, yet still there's posts with people expecting this to be released instantly from as soon as we mention that we're working on something.
DbD is now a pretty massive Live game, with an awful lot of things to consider, one change could have a knock on factor to many different things for example so the game as a whole always has to be considered as well as every individual perk, item, character, add-on etc and that does take time, the way things interact with each other always has to be considered, that's why any change always has to be tested to make sure that it interacts with something else in the way it was intended.
Yes, we've acknowledged the issues with the last chapter and we've acknowledged that this is something we are looking into and actively working on, which we've communicated about. Daily updates of "yes we're still working on this" really wouldn't be useful or beneficial.
26 -
I appreciate all you guys are doing to fix these bugs which they were expected because it was a big chapter. But to be fair the key change was promised what 8-10 months ago and they're still the same?? All you guys need to do is change the hatch spawn conditions to 5 gens done or one survivor left. That's all I'm asking.
2 -
I can’t speak for everyone, but a simple acknowledgement to the community that play DBD of “Guys we messed up, sorry for the inconvenience caused. Our team are looking into the issues, and we’ll have it sorted ASAP”
Much like the developers of CyberPunk 2077, delays happened, they took ownership of the problem, and publicly apologised numerous times.
But instead…. We get a robotic answer pinned to the forum “We’ll look into it”
if these sorts of issues were few and far between I’m sure the community would be much more chilled about it….. But no, they’re not few and far between….
Every.
Single.
{Bad Word}.
Chapter a new bug emerges….
Which is either completely ignored for weeks on end ( Shadow nerf ) despite the forums being literally flooded with complaints. Or the above example happens.
We know, that you know. Fog Whispers talk about it constantly. And I don’t believe the company as a whole is that ignorant.
it’s really disappointing to see the community being treated like {Bad Word} consistently.

Bold of you to assume the hotfix won't need its own hotfix
3 -
Laughs in silent slug bug thats been around for 3 years. And nurses 126 bugs. I think they honestly gave up on bugfixing both lol.
4 -
We have acknowledged the issues - it's even pinned on the very front on this forum and has also been addressed on Twitter and Discord.
5 -
Don't forget about Billy's bugs too. They sad they were gonna get fixed months ago and then went radio silent.
3 -
Why do people think that Nurse has so many bugs?
I play her quite a bit myself and i only notice like 3 things.
1.Bug that doesn't let me attack after blinking
2.Bug that sometimes doesn't let you blink for a few seconds
3.Some structures and objects are rather inconsistent to blink through
6 -
There's an in game message when you first turn it on saying what's broken, that they're working on it and apology bp. There's a message pinned on the forum saying they are aware of and looking into the issues. What the hell else do you want? Your suggested response doesn't tell anyone anything that the above didn't already do.
And yes, most games actually have glitches when a new dlc or patch comes out and need fixes. That's why you have patch number "x.xx" because they have to keep fixing it.
Answer me honestly: Do you code? Do you know how extremely precise yet fickle it is to code? Putting a single semicolon in one wrong space when coding can break something, for example. It's also not as easy as "Nemesis.buff.exe" or "solution.bug.fix" You have to find the bug, reproduce it, find a what's causing it and how to fix it and then, if there's time left, find if it breaks anything else. For buffs, they need a significant amount of feedback, testing and consideration before going through with it and after all of that, have to deal with the console licensing to actually get certified for updates.
So you want them to do all of that, in less than a week (not even considering people have weekends or can get sick or other emergencies etc.) While also maintaining a ######### live journal and reporting in to the forums about how far along they are, what they're working and how long they think it'll take? No. Because if they estimate incorrectly, they're giving people false hope and another reason to get bashed in by people like you who have 0 clue how this works and get messages like "You said you were working on X and it's not here!!!!"
If there is a company out there that does that, I've never seen it and tip every hat I have to hand for them. That sounds like absolute hell to go through just to please an entitled, impatient community.
2 -
Don't forget the one where if you get stunned right after blinking you sound like you have a chainsaw. Ones where you can still blink outside of the map. And theres a few console exclusive ones. I think there was a doc with the other like 100. There was actually a bug in my favor yesterday where nurse didn't look down even when i was fatiguing (it was a fatigue cancel basically but i didn't have to swing)

She's just a moderator so not much she can do, community manager is who should make us in contact with devs, but haven't seen any of them in months

Maybe try a different, more transparent approach then? For example: "We are taking x,y,z steps to achieve an average 60 fps on all platforms, a process that began in march 2019 and we´ve accomplished a,b,c and are currently finishing up d,e and f. We´re happy to announce that it could be finished at x date (no confirmtion though as unexpected problems can arise along the way)".

Well, you can always vote with your wallet. That's what I'm doing now too, not spending any dime on this game until issues are adressed.
4 -
Nope sorry. I'm actually a Community Co-ordinator who also moderates. I'm part of the CM Team.
14 -
because it takes time, if they rush to fix everything we will just get a game thats even more unplayable
1 -
Jesus guys, a simple look at the credits and you'll find the answers to the roles each person on the team has. Mandy and the other moderators here primary job is to keep things civil and if something comes up from us that raises concern it goes to their higher ups (community manager) Now, obviously the devs are right now working on their stuff and radio silence is usually a thing that happens when you're doing your work. (college assignments anyone? lol) give them the time they need to fix the spaghetti unreal engine code and fingers crossed we get some fixes soon. Having only half a dlc you paid for actually working sucks but i rather it work properly than crash.

They set a goal of 60fps minimum for all platforms back in March 2019, and since then no update at all on the progress. Nothing. Zip. Nada.
And I consider that performance issue wayyyyy more important to us all than the dang keys.
16 -
Hey now anytime someone gets on here with a problem she is the first to respond and try to solve it. Lets calm that ######### down.
4 -
Boom right there next to all the other that barely say #########. no offense. So get off her back.
1 -
wow seeing that brings back memories! It's a few years old now though and some of us have changed jobs etc.
8 -
Thank you, I appreciate your kind words! <3

Where did I assume anything In my reply?

I think that was a joke.

Recolorizing skins is more lucrative.

They speak. You just don't listen or don't like the response.

I don't code. I will be the first to admit that and I am aware that even a semi colon out of place or even a period, a typo, etc. However, I will say that they could hire more or more experienced coders. Heck, as someone said on another post, they could reach out to Warframe devs and see if they could help or provide some insight because I'm sure they would be willing to - especially since they're a SMALLER Canadian developer than BHVR. It's not hard to at least TRY to connect or find better coders out there. Get on Reddit and you'll find someone.
2 -
You seriously bring up Warframe? I've played Warframe years longer than Dbd and there are STILL bugs in there from my first year. Warframe has to constantly patch after every frame and update comes out because something is broken! When Sevagoth came out, I couldn't move every time his ult ended and I had to wait until the patch came to fix it so I could use his full kit. Warframe needs help themselves, they don't have the luxury of helping out.
"Better coders" doesn't work like that. Coding is such a complex network that someone could be the best at coding the algorithm for bloodwebs, but useless at finding the bug that causes chests to not spawn items. It's highly doubtful that someone plucked off Reddit or another insecure spot will have the specific expertise required to work with this tangled mess of a code in game and fix every single problem there is.
What I'm trying to get at is: There's very often a reason that simple and easy proposed solutions haven't been tried yet.
0 -
At least Warframe DOES bug patches that actually fix the important stuff compared to the BHVR devs who introduce new bugs every single patch. Yes, I realize it's going to happen, and yes, I know there are reasons why simple and easy solutions may not have happened. However, we have been promised optimization on all platforms since 2019, and this chapter only made it worse - this supposed hotfix didn't even actually address the frame-rate issues. Those are the things that need addressing and it has been long overdue, but because it didn't affect the ENTIRE fanbase, it didn't matter. That's the frustrating part; add on that this hotfix came out on a Tuesday, as scheduled, when the definition of a hotfix is to get it out asap to try and fix the issue (a.k.a. send out a 500mb update if it helps fix a few problems) - that's what should be happening.
4 -
That sounds incredibly hostile.
she never said she was a developer of the game. But when people ask for the devs to be more transparent or they should talk more to the community that’s when those people use the word ‚devs‘ wrongly as this is part of the tasks of the community managers and moderators and not the devs, as they are the ones with direct contact to the users.
So it’s pretty natural for MandyTalk to feel spoken to/about in this case even though the word ‚devs’ was used and why she responded that way.
3 -
Something some of you have to realize is this:
Yes, Mandy is a dev. However, she isn't a dev working on the game itself. She's kind of like the "mouth parts" of the dev TEAM. She tells us things from the big boys and girls on campus, keeps us in the loop, and maybe even tells them our side as well.
She can't do it all, because that isn't her job.
