Its not a bug its a feature
I have many arguments, why the recent change:
5.0.1
-Fixed an issue that caused the "Contaminate Survivor" score event to grant objective points instead of deviousness points.
has more negative effects than positives.
1st, it is very lore friendly, [spoiler alert for resident evil 3 in 1st point] it was his purpose, to hunt down or infect stars members and specifically Jill Valentine, he did infect her at the end of his life and reached his objective with that. Besides that he also had the purpose to infect as many people as possible, he was seen mutating zombies into stronger ones and infecting humans. Basically infection was his "objective".
2nd, it gave players a rewarding, motivating feeling for an otherwise wasted hit event. When you infect a survivor with the tentacle attack, they gain a big speed boost without getting injured, resetting the chase, this feels demotivating, the extra points made it something you look forward to, which made it rewarding instead of frustrating.
3rd, it made him unique and gave motivation to play him. He would be the only killer that can earn more than 32k bp and it would give him a unique role as a farming killer. The first one to have a unique bloodpoint event. I don't see many reasons to play him over many other killers now, like Pyramid head.
4th, he is not a strong killer, which justifies a extra point event like that and gives him his spot in the roaster. And a reason to play him over stronger killers.
5th, it had a max point value which was a extra, but not huge. It rewarded 850 points, if you infect all 4 by yourself it would reward 3400 points, if all 4 vaccines are used (extremely rare) AND you infect all 4 by yourself, it reaches a max value of 6800 which is not the limit of 8000 points. And its hard to reach anyway since most of the time maybe 1 vaccine gets used. For the lore that also makes sense , since [Spoiler] he never really completed his objective. Jill got cured and he died.
6th, it would reduce the ever growing big grind of dbd in a fun way.
7th, i have seen no one complain about the score event, no survivor or killer complained about it, what is quite a achievement for dead by daylight.
The only positive i can see is maybe conformity which makes it easier to understand.
As you see i don't think this change brings more positives than negatives, i would like to have it reverted if possible.

- Every killer power awards Deviousness for using their power.
- "The first one to have a unique bloodpoint event." can you elaborate?
- If they only changed the category, shouldn't he still gain over 32k then?

1.Every killer power awards Deviousness for using their power.
Well some killer powers also award Brutality for example and he does get Deviousness for his power, its only the "Contaminate Survivor" score event that was different, because it was Objective instead of Deviousness. He was easily able to reach max Deviousness without the score event.
2."The first one to have a unique bloodpoint event." can you elaborate?
Every other killer only has the 4 category's Brutality, Deviousness, Hunter, Sacrifice and is bound by the limits of these. Nemesis would have been the first to have another secret category which is extra from all of these. And this one score event was the first of its kind, to give extra points which aren't bound be the 4 category's and thus break the 32k cap.
If they only changed the category, shouldn't he still gain over 32k then?
Nope, the maximum you can get in every point category is 8k so if you reach max points in all 4 category's, you will get 32k. Because his special score event was another category he could earn them on top of that. Making him a killer that gave players with enough skill, to reach those numbers the ability to earn more in exchange for a higher challenge.

For me, this single thing, made Nemesis interesting. I dont see, why you can not do the thing that is right, instead of the one that was intended at the start, the word "bug" is a negative word, lets just call it a happy accident like Bob Ross used to say. You dont have to fix things that arent broken, only because you wanted them to work differently at the start. Work with the flow, if things are good, keep them, if things are bad, change them.
