Leon, Chris, Jill and Claire sound nothing like themselves
I've only recently gotten into the main-line Resident Evil games. But I've played enough to know that none of the characters we have in dbd sound correct.
Leon and Chris are too high pitched. They sound like boyscouts.
Jill, and especially Claire, just sound like annoying porn parody's of themselves.
Was it too much to ask for the original voice lines from the games? Just copy-pasting them into dbd would be better than what we have now.

I mean...they just grunt and scream. Not much of a paycheck. Plus, they paid for the likeness of the characters and there would be extra costs to pay they voice actors.

What a terrible excuse. Do you seriously think that Behaviour, the small indie dev company that it is, couldn't afford the voice actors if they wanted to? I want professional screams of pain and terror! Not screams that imply the person is enjoying it.

Oh god I can hear it just by reading the text.

I guess it's subjective, but imo, Claire sounds more in character the most, especially compared to Jill.

Nice. Welcome to the series. The voice actors and character appearances / models notoriously change from game to game (Leon is probably the most consistent appearance wise and even he has had 5 different English voice actors portray him throughout the series).
Just recently, Chris Redfield's voice in the latest entry "Resident Evil Village" used the exact same voice actor of the secondary-protagonist of Resident Evil 3 Remake (which he does not appear in), which was released just a year earlier. Same vocal inflection / mannerism and everything. Very noticeable.
Like I said, voices and appearances aren't very consistent throughout the series. Hell, if you want a real trip take at look at how Chris Redfield basically bodymorphs between games:
And that doesn't even include his latest appearance, spin-offs, or movie appearances.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AA7KLO87ThA A video of the voice actor of Claire Redfield in Resident Evil 2 reacting to stuff.
Even with the mic she's using at the time, you can't seriously think that the version we have in game sounds anything like her.

That's trippy as hell. He seems to become a different person every other game. What is the reason behind his constant re-designs?

"you can't seriously think-" according to you I'm joking so...
1 -
What? Nothing I said implied that I thought you were joking. I did imply that you were wrong in thinking that the Claire in dbd sounds in character because I just gave evidence of how she actually sounds. And it's as far away from dbd Claire as a steam engine is from sounding like a Blue Jay.

Resident Evil 2 and 3 legit have sound effects for Leon, Claire and Jill being hurt and they can't use them?

Geuss it does chris justice, the fact that nothing can stay consistent with him throughout games

Okay, what exactly were you expecting? This is an extremely underfunded game with oversight that doesn't care and a Dev team that doesn't fix any serious issues, and you're genuinely complaining... About voice lines.
I'm just glad they have unique voice lines. I half expected them to be copied from other survivors.

You answered your own question. This game has issues and the devs don't care to fix most of them. Why shouldn't I complain?

Its all about what they paid for permission they would have to pay royalty checks if they used the original VAs ultimately it doesnt really make sense to use them sense this game doesnt have cutscenes and thus they save themselves the extra headaches.

Because there's significantly more important issues in DbD that the limited resources of this development team should be used for.

And what is the likelihood of those things, (balance, bug fixing, etc), actually being fixed?
The things I'm complaining about have the exact same chance of being addressed, I think.
