I have the ps4 software update and I was still getting frame drops I mean it isn't as bad as it was before the fixes but it definitely seems to get worse over time, currently no issues on survivor tho only killer but gonna play another match of survivor

I really don’t understand why they don’t add a performance mode vs a resolution mode for consoles. I couldn’t care less with detailed particles or textures over a better framerate.
Let players decide which mode they want to play this game with. Considering the PC options (low res, stretched res), it wouldn’t be unfair to have these two modes for console players.
And please remove the uncapped fps and the useless fog effect in the main menus. Our consoles can’t deal with it properly...

THIS! Even the original Nioh had a performance vs graphic options which allowed even base PS4s to choose to make the game run in 60fps with simpler graphics, or 30fps with more detailed environments etc. It was released 2016\17 iirc.

No issues with survivor for the few matches I could play tonight wish I could say the same for killer even had frame drops playing pig 💔🐷 It definitely is still an issue just because it's not as bad as it was doesn't mean it's acceptable for me personally .

There are very few games that run as poorly as DBD.

Okay I've gotten a video exporting but I'm gonna be asleep before it finishes to upload so I'll just describe it and send the video when I'm back from college tomorrow + have enough time to upload.
First game, Wreckers Yard. Mostly okay with a couple of hiccups (bearing in mind before 5.0.0 there were none) on my usual custom Ultra+ 135% res, 1920*1080 60fps. Mostly when using the tentacle (again there should be none if my pc could handle even the buggy mess that was Cyberpunk 2077). One time the screen froze for half a second to a second. Fun.
Second game, Chapel. Played awfully but I blame tiredness + being fed up with the day. Mostly stable framerate, used the whip more this game too. Did drop to 30-50 occasionally however nothing drastic like the first game.

Asylum maps are brutal for Console.

Crash number 8, this time on cowshed.
Particularly frustrating because i was losing but was 5 seconds away from turning tge loss into a draw. Guarantee they had a nice laugh at the dcing killer 😡

Given that I'm not the best killer, probably not even decent, I do feel that the performance is what's hindering my gameplay a lot of the time.
I know that the Switch isn't on par with last gen consoles, but a smooth gaming experience should be mandatory, otherwise it's pointless to have the game on this platform. Clearly there are devs who want to make the game better. Give them the resources they need, please.

Thankfully it didn't end my pc. It's possible I just didn't notice the freeze though, I was pretty out of it lol

I played a handful of matched post-patch yesterday.
It's still bugged to hell. I did have a good match with Nemesis but the glitches still remained.

Agreed, unfortunately this patch seems to have made no difference to optimisation and performance.
But the devs haven't given up and are still working on it, so thats good news, it sucks we will have to wait another week for the next patch however.

Damn this blows. I kinda wanted to, you know, actually be able to play the game I've spent money on?
I didn't have high hopes for the hotfix, but a teeny tiny bit of improvement surely was not too much to expect?

I've come to realise that you should never put faith in BHVR, they will always find a way to let you down. They tainted one of my favorite franchises of all time with the Resident Evil DLC and all the issues that came along with it.

The sad thing is that BHVR keeps disappointing even if you try to have low expectations.
Like,only thing i was hoping for was a playable new chapter...

Has anyone played the Windows store version of DBD on PC? I hear performance is better than Steam but this sounds too good to be true.

After getting the update yesterday I played a few matches as a surv. 3 out of 5 games were against a Nemmy, all three on the corn, and the same issues with frame drops whenever he whips all remain. There was also a huge fps drop while the cam circled when starting the match, when a gem popped, anyone used Exaustion, pretty much all of our favorites.
So as far as I can tell this patch did nothing to improve the performance on console.

Im not the head of any corporation, but I do work in IT. If we had released a patch this bad we would restore everything to the previous patch till we figured out what went wrong. Maybe theres some reason they cant do that, but if they can they should

Well,they could have easily delayed the patch but i guess the people in charge of those decisions are against that 🤷♂️

This is the worst patch of all without a doubt beating The Twins. and above all to the old bug of the hooks that you had to release a survivor or turn to the side to re-hook it.

I had started playing DBD just after Shattered Bloodline, I remember playing during the Halloween event that year, so I was too new (or rather dying too quick) to notice the bugs from that chapter. Not sure if it's a good thing I had no idea how broken the game could be. 😂

Just played a match on PS4 as hillbilly.
PS software update did not fix lag.
DBD hotfix did not fix lag.
Devs, fix your game.

I feel it's really map depending on wheter there are flashes almost every second or not.
On the dark maps I get them a lot, on the bright maps I don't get them as much as the dark ones (they're still there, but maybe they're less noticable?)

I don't remember much of the old legion, the first time I tried Dead by Daylight was in 2017, but the most annoying mistakes was being trapped on a mountain or in a gene without being able to move. Now the optimization and the damn flickers are difficult to enjoy and even more so on the anniversary of the game!

Every killer still feels like a one shot killer because i lag into a wall every time I take a hit, but I can deal with that. It was Ace's hair appearing offset when he started repairing a generator that was ruining the experience for me. So glad they fixed that.

This is kinda funny, in a this-is-starting-to-become-a-bump-fest-and-the-thread-will-get-locked-if-you-keep-it-up kind of way.
On topic, the Switch didn't crash while I played last night, so that was nice. But I also restarted the game at regular intervals, so that may have had an impact.

I think just more noticeable in dark. Ormond and Coldwind I'll notice them more in buildings than outside where it's lighter.

OOOO okay experience from survivor, again remember god-tier specs and I'm getting FPS drops whenever the killer swings or a gen is done

Another survivor game and I was dropping to 20fps every 5 seconds. Swamp vs Plague. Before 5.0.0 there were no issues what the actual #########

From my experience on Switch, at least the crashes have stopped. The frame drops and the very dark maps are still there.
Does anyone else play on Switch? If so you must know that some maps are so dark you can barely see anything. I saw Ardetha's video on Switch and he did a comparison between PC and Switch. The difference between them was literally night and day. :p
