Please get rid of MMR
I don't like being paired off with rank fives when I'm rank 15 or lower. It is extremely dumb and takes the enjoyment out of the game when I am not able to even do anything without getting killed in two seconds.

MMR is not active for matchmaking at the moment. When skill based matchmaking is introduced, matchmaking will be done via skill and not via the current shown ranks.

Maybe because the problem is the current matchmaking system, and not specifically MMR?
This is what leads to nonsensical, conspiracy-like, preconceptions about MMR.
"Matchmaking was terrible, must be MMR." / "Matchmaking was great, obviously not MMR." = Both confirmation bias.

Exactly. This is what has led to a drop in the amount of people playing killer, not to mention playing as the killer can be highly stressful. Playing killer is a 1v1 game, however if you go against a coordinated swf, it then becomes a 1v4 game, and if you go up against experienced survivors that play well (which happens far too often with the current matchmaking system) they can absolutely destroy the killer.

Your post wasn’t helpful either. It was explicitly stated in the in-game news when MMR was active for a test phase and nothing indicated it was active now.

My post was a complaint about being matched up with rank fives when I'm rank 15. That indicates that regardless of rather MMR is active or not that there is an issue with the Matchmaking. Much more helpful then your post or the one I quoted before.

No. Your title says something else, you were directly blaming MMR.
giving feedback on unfair matchmaking is of course valid and you can post that - maybe try to do so in the Feedback and Suggestion section of the forums though to reach the right receivers.

Because initially I thought it was, then the Mod corrected me which is more then enough info to put the blame on something else, something is wrong with the match making system and it needs to be corrected. A person thats rank 15 shouldn't be put against a rank 5.

But that’s what MMR is supposed to do. It will change the matchmaking system entirely because even if the rank based system worked as it was supposed to do, there are on specific ranks people with completely different skill levels and there are still super unfair matches.
just using the ranks just isn’t working to say if the matchmaking was fair. It’s an outdated system and as you said yourself isn’t working at all.
(this is just a Short info about MMR, not saying you should have known that or anything)

People constantly complaining about MMR when it's not on instead of actually looking to see if MMR is enabled isn't helpful either.
If anything, it's detrimental, as some other uniformed person is liable to come to the forums after a match with bad matchmaking, read the title of your post, and assume: "Oh, mmr is on, and mmr is bad". This will just propagate the misinformation, causing more people to assume mmr is bad, leading to more anti-mmr posts, and making it more likely we won't ever get actual mmr, and will be stuck with the terrible, broken emblem system.
Bad matchmaking is due to many things:
- Rank doesn't always equal skill. Due to rank reset, and the ease of leveling up for survivors, you can have gods playing at rank 13 and potatoes at rank 3.
- Number of players playing each role at a given time. I'm on the NA server. During the middle of the day, my survivor queue times are short and at night they are long. Killer is instant at night and medium during the day. This is all due to what people are playing. More people play at night, and more people play survivor then (in order to play with friends), so killer queue is short. With all these extra survivors, the game has trouble matching people up according to skill, as it is just trying to get people into matches as fast as possible. This is probably the main reason you are seeing ranks much lower than yours.
- It's just bad. The matchmaking has always been bad. It will likely continue to be bad under the current system, which is why we need MMR. It won't be perfect, but my experiences during all the tests they've run so far have been much better than with the normal system.
