Something odd I found with the Perk "Flashbang"
Hello people of the Fog, I've got something odd I found with this Perk. It says "After completing 50 % progress on any generator, Flashbang activates."
Now the weird thing about it is, it only activates if you reach those 50 % progress while working on a gen alone. If you work with someone else on a gen and it reaches 50 %, Flashbang doesn't activate, infact in only is about half full activation.
Is this a bug or is it intended? If it is intended that it only works when you reach 50 % progress on a gen while working on it alone, then the description should be updated.
Look at Repressed Alliance for example, it activates after working on a gen for 60 seconds. Makes sense that you get the Perk active while working on the gen alone because they take 80 seconds when alone. But doing them with someone else takes 44 seconds maximum, which doesn't activate Repressed Alliance.
Maybe the description of Flashbang should be changed to "seconds" instead of "%".

its working as intended, let me explain it
When working on a gen, you are technically working solo with someone else, if 2 people get on 1 gen technically you are doing 50% of the gen and they are doing 50%
This can be seen when using a toolbox with brand new part as it’ll skip progress

Yeah, it should be "spend this much time on generator" since that's closer to how it does work. It only becomes true if you're working on it solo, but even using a toolbox/perk results in needing a longer repair progress.

When you work with someone and the generator comes to 50%, I guess it counts your personal action, which could be cut in half. It doesn't make sense with the description, as it isn't mentionned that you need to complete it by yourself only.

Yeah but isn't it quite confusing that way? I'd rather make it seconds so it's crystal clear so a dumbass like me can understand as well.
But I get it with your explanation, it's still confusing though.

If its converted to seconds it’ll actually nerf the perk as charges are different than seconds as toolboxes don’t use seconds, they use charges

Isn't 1 second actually 1 charge? So it works quite similar, doesn't it.
A gen takes 80 charges to complete, it also takes 80 seconds.
Making it 50 seconds meant you'd have to repair 50 charges of a gen which is more than half... you're right, it would nerf the Perk.

Thats working on a gen without anything affecting it, a toolbox will speed up the generator but the charges the toolbox has will affect your perk as well, for example
a 32 charge toolbox will give you 32% towards the flashbang, however the speed the gen was being worked on is sped up as the toolbox sped it up

So yeah, making it seconds would nerf it, especially with toolboxes. But how does it work with it's current state when using a toolbox, is it still harder to get than normal or is it the same?

Basically, if it goes by charges, then working on a gen with someone else is a 15% nerf. You will still get it when you complete the gen, which will happen almost as fast as getting 50% done yourself, but the 15% co-op nerf has to be accounted for, if you use Prove Thyself then there's no nerf whatsoever. It's only when working on the gen with THREE people that you are unable to charge it with one gen.
If it goes by seconds, then using anything that increases gen speed (toolboxes, etc.) is a nerf.

Then just work on gens solo or run Prove Thy Self. No nerf.
