If there are 2 gateau's why play like that?

I don't get why killers/survivors see the gateau's or even streamers and Gen Rush/ Tunnel camp one survivor. I literally just watched a trapper do trappers basement with 2 gateau's WHY ON EARTH would you ruin the opportunity to gain a boat load of Bloodpoints? How often do you see multiple gateau's? I don't understand the logic behind it. I get you can play how you want and there's no rule against it but that's pretty messed up dude. Poor Feng walked out with a base score of 2k while the rest of us enjoyed a whopping 20k

Sometimes I don't notice the offerings until endgame.

That said I do think how some people play when offerings are used can be horrible. I've had a lot of killers dc after loading in when 4 party streamers or gateaux have been used. Reason? To troll and be toxic to the survivors. Killers typically get a lot more bloodpoints than survivors so don't have to really play for them or be concerned about them...

It does seem rather silly, like leaving money on the table. When I see a bunch BP amplifiers, I try to stretch games out as long as I can. In general, as the Killer, the longer the game the more points you earn anyway. I don't know if I would go so far as to say they are playing like a douche, because they are just doing their job same as always. It seems a waste of potential points, but it isn't their job to maximize your score. In fact, many Killers (myself included) have so much stuff that BP is kind of redundant. I don't need it. I'm just too much like Scrooge McDuck, need it or not, I don't like wasting it. :)

Trapper and Hag both like the basement and I expect that Trapper HOPED that you guys would be super altruistic and he would end up with a slumber party down there. I'm sure his goal wasn't to just stick it to the Feng. :) It just worked out that way because I expect you guys weren't bombing the basement. So, if a Killer doesn't care about points, it means he/she is just playing the game to win. I think insulting them over that is a road too far.

My plan for this event is just to play fun killers and go for 12 hooks. At least, until I get tired of people burning cakes and genrushing me, because that's AU for you.

Edit: seriously, I see a BPS and I know that means I'm having a 4-minute trial.

Usually its only inexperienced killers that do that in my experience.

They dont know enough about the game to understand that its a massive waste of points.

Whenever i see a bps or an anniversary cake i usually just try to get each person on hook once or twice and then we go to farm town.

To killers it doesn’t matter. They need that 4K and nobody else’s fun, points, or game play experience matter.

Why play any differently than you were originally planning? Do you play differently if you play a Survivor Pudding or Escape Cake?

    Because I sure don't.

I usually am alt-tabbed until i hear the "whoosh" sfx to signify the game starting

some killers just literally have no clue who they're facing and what they brought until they're literally in the match.

I will play the game how it is intended, not to farm. If I desperately need a kill, I will tunnel. If the last gen is done, I will camp.

Don't care much about points. Points will come from playing; fun is what i'm here for.

Probably putting myself out there for saying this, but aren’t you always supposed to be trying to deny the other side points? That’s how I play anyways. Just because I run BPS or whatever as a killer doesn’t mean I have to play nice.

Your bias is laughable, as usual. I've literally stopped bringing Gauteau Cakes and BPS whenever I play killer, simply because it's a recipe for all gens done in less than 5 minutes and a host of teabagging at the exit gates. I'm probably sitting on close to 100 cakes combined over multiple killers that I refuse to use at this point. Both killers and survivors do the same things, and it's simply ignorance to pretend that it's not the case.

To the OP -- I don't expect anyone to farm when I play BPS or Cakes as a survivor or a killer, but I'll agree it's frustrating to see that happen, from either side. My hope when I play survivor or killer is that my opponent(s) won't go completely hardcore, but as some people have pointed out, some players on both sides only get the satisfaction of a "W".

I posted in the "Wholesome moments" thread that, a while back, I actually decided to bring in BPS while playing a Pig round -- and saw three other BPS and an Escape Cake from the four survivors (who I assumed were a 4-person SWF at that point). I had doubts, based on past experiences, that things would go well, but once I found the survivors clumped together near the beginning and ready to Boop, we had one of the best farming matches I've ever had. Everyone cleaned up ridiculous BP's, and I'm sure everyone safety pipped or better, so I still hold out for more good than bad and hope that's what I'll see during the event.

(Of course, the next time I brought a cake in and survivors brought multiple BPS, I was welcomed with a Haddonfield offering, three Commodius Toolboxes with BNP's, and a flashlight wielder with a macro and teabags galore resulting in one of the quickest games I've ever played -- if you can call it a game -- so there's that, lol).

Ngl as long as he let's people get unhooked then trappers basement is probably a very good way to get BP lol

He just downs the unhooker then hook them back in the basement.

Daily reminder, just because someone offers double bloodpoints the killer is not obligated to play for points.

Maybe I should have wrote this a bit differently. All the power to you if you don't want points but 310% bonus bps is an outrageous amount in this day and age of DBD. I was just so shocked to see it

I 100% agree with you on that. This post wasnt meant to be a "you have to play for points" Post. I was just super surprised to see the killer play to get under 10k bps. I feel like his only aim was to just kill one maybe cause he thought we were a swf but I could be wrong and nay just enjoying to play that way, Who knows. I am by no means telling anyone how to play.

If I see a BP offering, I expect a short match. As survivor, experience has taught me that I will be tunneled out. As killer, despite my best efforts, survivors will avoid interacting and rush through gens. On Switch I am better off standing still and phasing my way to 8k BP by myself over trying to earn BP with survivors; they just want their quick escape with their 10k BP.

However, I haven't been paying much attention to the lobby lately and I usually have no idea a BP offering is in play until I see the end screen.
