What are the random breathing sounds you hear while playing survivor?
Over my long time playing survivor, I've noticed that sometimes you will randomly hear what sounds like a man exhaling. It's not your survivor, as this sound is the same regardless of who you are playing as.
Is this a bug of some sort? Just an ambient sound? Or is it something lore related, like it's the breathing of The Entity or something like that?

This is a bug that has been in the game for a long time
Anytime there is a David King in the game, you will hear his breathing no matter where he is
It doesn't happen if there's no david in the game.

You hear it as killer as well. Maybe a feature or a bug. This game is so perfect that often you can't tell one from the other.

I never payed much attention to if you could hear it as killer. But still, I wonder what that breathing is supposed to be.

Def can, ive been thrown for a loop because of it multiple times.

When you are in madness tier 3 you will hear it.
also if you are playing killer and you hear it, it is the perk “whispers” making that sound telling you there is a survivor nearby.

It sounds almost like the breathing of David King. You hear it at random intervals while playing, usually while outside the terror radius. It's just a random exhaling sound, it's always confused me.

i always thugh it was the map breathing like the entity making itself known

I guess it’s also not the sounds some objects make? For example the cow tree makes ‚breathing‘ or kinda windy sounds when you are near it.
either way, it’s probably just for atmosphere. Maybe it’s supposed to be the observer that watches the trial with his … whatever he uses.. Auris or something?

Could you be up against a Killer using Whispers? I know in killer side when Whispers is active you hear sounds like you're describing. I don't know if Survivors hear it too. I wouldn't think so, though.

As stated in recent comments, this is a sound completely separate from those of Whispers and Doc's madness.
