Perfect solution to key shenanigans
Since people complain a lot about hatch key, here's my way to satisfy both sides:
Instead of 1-click to instantly open the hatch, make it a progressive action similar to unlocking vaccine crate, you need 4s to unlock it before it opens, uses key's charges (purple key has 5s charges, red has 30s charges), keys will be used when the hatch successfully opened no matter how many charges left.
During the hatch opening animation, killer can hit or grab you while doing it, the opening progress will reset as soon as you leave it (can't 99 the hatch). Also a realistic thing too, ain't no key IRL can open a lock instantly.
Additionally, when you (with key) open the hatch, you will be forced to get out then the hatch instantly closed (hatch only lets 1 person escape each time), the next person that wants to escape has to open the hatch with their hands, but the duration is doubled each time for a successful hatch escape and also forced leave (8s, 16s, 32s for the 2nd, 3rd and last survivor through the hatch respectively, not counting any survivor exit escape), but if they have keys then it only takes the same 4s. Only when the hatch is first opened with a key will it allow other survivors to open it barehand.
The hatch will always open for the last survivor, killer can close it, but if it was first opened by a key, then the survivor can open it barehands again, therefore the killer has 3 choices during 1v1, 2 exits and a hatch patrol. If it was never opened by a key, then the hatch is permanently shut once closed, just the same way as it is now.

This and also it should require some charges of key.

i still think the better solution is not making the hatch able to spawn while there are multiple survivors alive with unfinished generators.
Multiple Survivors Alive: All generators should be finished.
1 Survivor Alive: No more generators need to be finished.

I have been saying that on the forum for months. Hopefully the devs implement a key charge system for hatch.

While that would be a solution for Hatch standoffs and mid-chase escapes, it wouldn't do anything to counter the frustration of patrolling the final 1-2 gens, finding no survivors at any of them, and suddenly the game just ends... because they all found the hatch and opened it with a key.
You shouldn't be able to bypass entire objectives like that, gens still need to be done.
This basically:
One concession I would make however, is if the game has been at 1 gen for long enough (maybe scaling with the number of remaining survivors, then maybe it could spawn.
So once the 4th gen is repaired the timer starts, and lets say after 360s/240s (3/2 survivors remaining) if the last gen still hasn't been repaired then the hatch will spawn.

Agree using charges
It would be perfect with my solution.

I really don't like that timer, if survivors got 3-gen it's their problem and killer's time to play. This would promote gen rush any gens possible and then just hide and wait for watch, while killer is running around his 3-gen. Survivors should be forced to think about what gens they are working on.

If survivors got their 3-gen and gave the killer such an advantage, then the killer should be able to capitalise on that mistake and secure another hook at the very least.
If they can't, then it's a stalemate, and one side could likely end up holding the other hostage for minutes at a time. The hatch spawning under those conditions offers another out. Plus the generous timer (4 or 6 minutes) gives the killer plenty of warning that [gens haven't been repaired yet] and can then decide to venture away from the obviously secure 3-gen to scout for the hatch.

3-gen can be defeated, if you play it well as long you have at least 3 survivors. Survivors have to try it to work, thing is if they know there will be escape in next 4/6 minutes, is there point to try it and not just go hide on other side of the map?
If killer goes after them to dead zone, then they go finish gen and easy win, if he doesn't and defend 3-gen then they are going to get hatch and easy win.

It seems like there's a lot of IF to program this so I would expect them to break the game with a few bugs 🙃
