Fan-Made Chapter: Look To The Darkened Skies
New Killer - The Consumer
--------------------------------
Lore and Minor Details
--------------------------------
An ancient hunter, hunting oblivious prey in the night, and consuming their flesh to attempt to satiate a never ending hunger. The Consumer has been alive and hunting for an unknown amount of time, but some believe the he had always existed. Now he serves under a new master, in the promise of more food.
-------------
Passive
-------------
Due to it's fragile bone structure, The Consumer moves at 3.88 m/s (97%) movement speed.
------------
Ability 1
------------
Hold M2 to activate Flight, allowing The Consumer to flap it's wings and instantly begin flying in the direction The Consumer is looking. While flying, The Consumer can rotate themselves freely but will drift depending on how quickly they turn during Flight. During Flight, The Consumer is forced to move at 6.0 m/s (150%) movement speed in the direction they are facing and cannot strafe. Pressing the ability button while in Flight will cause The Consumer to Land, returning The Consumer to the ground. Upon Landing, Flight must recharge over a period of 5 seconds and The Consumer must suffer a 2.5 second stun. Flight can only remain active for a maximum of 8 seconds. If the maximum Flight duration elapses, The Consumer is forced to Land.
---------------
Ability 2
---------------
While in Flight, pressing the basic attack button will cause The Consumer to perform a powerful Plunging Attack in the direction they are looking; dealing direct damage to any survivor they collide with. While performing a Plunging Attack, The Consumer travels at 18.4 m/s (460%) up to a distance of 8 meters and cannot turn. After a Plunging Attack ends, the attack comes in contact with debris, or a survivor is injured by the attack, The Consumer is forced to Land. The Plunging Attack ignores any drift acceleration from turning during Flight, allowing the attack to be used at sharp turns in experienced hands.

Killer Addons
---------------------
(Common) Broken Sharpening Tool - a tool once used to sharpen various objects. Slightly reduces drift from quick turns during Flight. Stacks.
(Common) Frog Legs - A pair of legs ripped from a frog's body. Slightly increases the maximum duration of Flight. Stacks.
(Common) Lizard's Tail - A lizard's tail that fell off of a frightened lizard. Though it grants no nourishment, it allows The Consumer to replace bone with cartilage to fit through smaller spaces. Moderately reduces the size of The Consumer during Flight. Stacks.
(Common) Bloody Bandage - An old bandage once worn by someone attempting to escape The Consumer. Slightly increases movement speed during Flight. Stacks.
(Uncommon) Pouch Of Flesh - A small pouch filled with moldy human flesh. Moderately reduces drift from quick turns during Flight. Stacks.
(Uncommon) Jar Of Tongues - A jar of human tongues, each ripped from a tortured victim, and seasoned with pepper. Moderately increases the maximum duration of Flight. Stacks.
(Uncommon) Tar Covered Heart - A human heart covered in tar, less than desirable for consumption. Moderately increases movement speed during Flight. Stacks.
(Uncommon) Buck's Legs - The hind legs of a large buck. Though they grant no nourishment, they do increase the strength of The Consumer's muscles. Slightly reduces Flight recharge time after Landing. Stacks.
(Uncommon) Delicious Powder - Human flesh, cured, and ground into a fine powder. Slightly increases the maximum distance that a Plunging Attack can cover. Stacks.
(Rare) Cured Flesh - Human flesh torn from the backs of a dying couple in the woods. Considerably reduces drift from quick turns during Flight. Stacks.
(Rare) Dried Tongue - A woman's tongue, dried over a month and ready to consume. Considerably increases the maximum duration of Flight. Stacks.
(Rare) Preserved Heart - The dying heart of a drunk man, hung over and sound asleep in the woods. Considerably increases movement speed during Flight. Stacks.
(Rare) Lover's Jaws - A pair of jaws taken from both the wife and husband of the dying couple. Moderately reduces Flight recharge time after Landing. Stacks.
(Rare) Disgusting Sludge - A special beverage using chunks of human flesh combined with water. Moderately increases the maximum distance that a Plunging Attack can cover. Stacks.
(Very Rare) Fatty Flesh - Human flesh torn from the stomachs of the dying couple, kept fresh by unknown methods. Healthy Survivors injured by a Plunging Attack suffer from Deep Wounds. Healthy Survivors injured by a Plunging Attack suffer from Mangled status effect until fully healed.
(Very Rare) Bloodied Tongue - A tongue ripped from the jaws of the drunken man. During Flight, The Consumer is Undetectable.
(Very Rare) Couple's Stitched Heart - Two halves of two hearts, stitched to form one. Healthy Survivors injured by a Plunging Attack suffer from the Broken status effect for 40 seconds.
(Very Rare) Old Skin - The shed skin of The Consumer; The skin's taste fills The Consumer with memories of long forgotten hunts. Tremendously reduces drift from quick turns during Flight. Stacks.
(Ultra Rare) Hunter's Mask - The mask of a dead monster hunter. It fills The Consumer with rage. Slightly increases field of view during Flight. Tremendously increases the maximum duration of Flight. Stacks.
(Ultra Rare) Blood Maggots - A special breed of maggots hungry for living flesh. Successful Plunging Attacks do not cause The Consumer to land, but instead reset the remaining duration of Flight. Repeated Plunging Attacks can only occur every 2 seconds.

It's like a cross between Demogorgon and Nurse - might be interactive, might be bullshit. I think this is probably the most balanced flying killer idea I've seen. How would it work on indoor maps?

Indoor maps would definitely be difficult for him but if you get good enough with flying you could probably still be deadly.

Would he just bonk into the roof? Would he be able to dip in height a little to make it through the doorways on Lery's?
0 -
He has full pitch control.

Ah, fair enough. But that begs the question: What's the point in flying any higher than, like, waist-height? Wouldn't that just make him a Demo with less counterplay?

Flying higher would allow you to get better vision on survivors, as for flying at a lower altitude, it could be strong to do so depending on the situation. The Consumer can only move forward in flight and with since not all obstacles have the same heights, it may make it more difficult to move around in chases without getting caught on things while flying. I feel it would be preferable to stay at a decently high height until you are close enough to make a potential attack, especially since you can use your higher altitude during flight to cut off survivors while they are pathing away from you.
The counterplay to him is trying to out-move him in tight spaces, since he has a drift, it makes controlling him while closer to the ground much more difficult. The flight attack, though powerful in the right hands, can still be dodged similar to a Demo lunge, but without the ability to always aim the attack properly due to always moving forward as the Consumer during flight. It requires quick thinking. The difference between him and Demo is that Demo can properly aim his ability at any time where Consumer cannot due to always being on the move while at the same time being on a time limit where the power duration may end before a good angle can be made.
