Why is everyone so angry about Spirit
Seriously doesn't she require skill to play, game sense and strong perks are required to play her, not only that but scratch marks have delay and doubling back can easily counter her. Besides with her best add-ons you need Stridor to make her good

People shouldnβt complain about Spirit when they face me - Iβm pretty bad with her π I think she does take some skill to play and most people who complain about how OP she is probably havenβt tried playing as her against good survivors who know how to counter her.

good headphones = she knows exactly where you are and the survivors dont know anything.
she can hear footsteps, and grunts of pain
good spirits dont swing immediately but regain vision to know where the survivor is if they dont know already.
She maintains her insane speed for a hot second after coming out of phase.
completely invisible with no audio or visual cues for the survivor, whereas the spirit can hear survivors and see blood/scratch-marks
The stand still at a pallet mind game.
Any form of counter play just involves the survivor flailing around and hoping for the best.

Because countering her largely relays on rng.

No, she doesnβt require skill whatsoever

She looks hard to me. I lose track of survivors that I can see, making them invisible is not going to do me ANY favors. Ha ha ha...

It's not like this hasn't been discussed here already a hundred times.
If you're genuinely interested in the background of the critique regarding spirit and her game design, why don't you use the search to find those discussions?

Probably a spirit main trying to defend her.

She just need some adjustments to be able to make a read on her. It is fine if she is strong, she just needs some better tells so you can at least have the ability to properly mind game. For example, she should have some sort of animation or tell that she is starting to use her power. Every killer in the game has some sort of animation or noise that signifies they are starting to use their power, this includes Nurse who...last I checked....was still considered to be the strongest killer. Give Spirit a proper animation and/or sound that shows her ability is starting up. Another thing I think should be added, is something like Nurse's fatigue. Maybe not exactly that...but SOMETHING that punishes a missed or no attempt at an attack. Being able to keep a bit of her movement speed for a second after coming out of her phase is fine, as long she gets some sort of negative affect afterwards for messing up.
I think this is all she really needs, just my opinion.

Because many Survivors claim any Killer who shortens loops are 'OP'.
Many Survivors would not be happy until infinites are back in the game, because anything less is 'unhealthy' for the game. π

Add to this most Spirits play super sweaty, at least in my experience.

Because counter play against an average or good Spirit at the end of the day is hope she guesses wrong.

Spirit is the most hated killer in the game

Popular content creators get up in arms about her and they follow. Honestly, I think people *greatly* overestimate the audio consistency in this game. More power to the Spirit if they're perfect on every phase. The vast majority aren't.

1-There are killers that have a low skill expression like Wraith. They can only do so much in a 1v1 due to power limitations.
2-There are killers with a high skill expression like Blight. They require mastery and reward those who sink in hours to master their power.
A-There are killers that have way too much counterplay, like Trapper. They feel gimmicky to play against and often times unrewarding.
B-There are killers that have adequate counterplay like Huntress. They create interesting chase dynamics where the survivor and killer can mindgame and call bluffs. After going down to a good killer, you feel outplayed and satisfied.
C- There are killers that have little to no counterplay, like DeathSlinger. They offer survivors no real skill expression and feel cheap to go against. That doesn't make them overpowered by nature, just unfun.
Spirit sits comfortably in the 2-C category. In the hands of a good player, she is fun to play as but removes all agency from the survivors. Her passive blinking, stand still mindgame, overtuned addons, uncompromising power put her in a very advantageous position. If the Spirit didn't hit you, chances are it was her mistake and not your decisions that lead to the outcome. There is a reason as to why she is a lot more hated than Nurse or Blight, despite all 3 sitting on the top of the food chain. Her current implementation is just dumb and needs to go.

Most can't see when she phases so they miss out on a whole aspect of countering. It needs to be more visible and spirit needs more difficulties hearing, at most.

Because she automatically puts the one player at a huge advantage over the 4 others. Stridor is like using Tinkerer on Blight.

Not to mention her add-ons. And not indication of her actions. Agreed. And always wondered what you thought of Spirit.
