DCing is out of control again.
Ever since the penalty has been disabled DC's are happening more then ever. had a teammate today that DCd because they were found first.
this happens a lot and it screws over the other players on the team.
at least with the penalty there was a consequence for being a quitter.

Killers are playing horrible so I don’t blame survivors. I had a rank 1 basement camping huntress followed by a tunneling spirit, rank 2. Events supposed to be semi fun.

The penalty was disabled because the game crashes on a regular basis on console since the resident evil patch

It's off because it would be unfair for console users to get punished unfairly due to the console issues.

And survivors are being sure to give the killer plenty of hooks, to avoid genrushing, and to only use offerings for balanced maps.

Its unfortunate that some survivors do d/c if they are found first. I do believe however the main reason survivors leave a match is due to how the killer is playing in which case the survivor determined the match would not be a fun or worth while playing experience. Instead of penalizing people for not wanting to play a game they paid for, instead look at the reasons why survivors do leave matches and improve those areas of the game. In my experience, most people who leave matches said in the post game chat they literally just didn't want to deal with a sweaty or toxic killer and I don't blame them one bit for leaving over that.

Oh yeah, lets not talk about the killers DCing too when their hex get destroyed the 2 first minutes or when they see they lost.. i love to waste my offerings / add ons with em

What a selfish excuse to DC

if console players had to deal with hour/day long bans, this game would die overnight.
I don't know what the solution here is other than for BHVR to get their heads out of their ass.

Part is consoles crashing due to the performance issues that still aren't fixed. A large enough portion of the player base is effected by these issues and crashing for the DC penalty to be turned off.
Part is because of the event. Survivors are trying for crown, if they don't think they'll escape that round they'll DC to get into next match hoping they have better chance. Since the hook was changed making it take longer for survivors to suicide the DC is quicker way out of the match. Survivor queues are basically instant right now since so many are playing killer thanks to crowns being easier so it's not like it's a long wait to get into a new match. I don't condone the DCs, but it's easy to see why there are so many right now. Devs should've made survivor requirement be getting 10k BP so they'd be more likely to stay in the match - the escape requirement actually makes survivors less likely to stick it out if it seems like lost cause.

1) Manners.
2) I love how DCers always claim a game will 'die' if they're not allowed to DC. It's the opposite; if people can DC, the game will die, because no one can finish a match, so people say the game is not worth playing because they CANNOT PLAY IT THROUGH, and so less people play, and the game dies.

I could say the same about survivors abusing their sudden increase of ######### event flashlights

The person you are quoting was likely pointing out that current issues with consoles crashing would make DC penalties come off as, well, not good. BHVR released an update, it now crashes last gen consoles, nearly burned and bricked several others. If those players were also putting up with DC penalties, then it would not be far-fetched to think they could lose faith in the game and its developers, which would lead to a decline in traffic.
I'm assuming you missed this context. If not, and you actually think that people should get DC penalties because an update to the game is now crashing last gen consoles like it's a destruction derby... ya. That's not a good look.

Remember all those threads asking bhvr to remove the dc penalty? Well I hope those people are having a wonderful time trying to have fun.

Games Broken? Welcome to DBD where the game breaking is the norm and it's out of our control
Killer's making the game boring for you? Since when are killer's responsible for survivor's fun?
Everything you just said is still not a valid reason to DC

I'm sure there are killers who do ragequit when they've lost, there always are, but I'm gonna point out that at least on Switch it's not uncommon for the game to crash at the end of a match. I had this happen multiple times, both before the EGC started and after it started. It sucked. Nothing like losing all your points from an entire match for no good reason, especially when there are BP offerings involved.

During this event both sides are playing a very toxic game. Killers are camping tunneling and slugging like crazy. and survivors are t bagging and just playing to be annoying right now.
I play with a group that has at least one member who only has fun when they're tormenting a killer. They laugh like crazy and point out how bad the killer is when they can't catch them. I've seen it on streams with other people too. But if a killer has they're number "Oh that BS"
"that's too OP"
ect.
I play both sides so I see all of it.
The problem appears to be that one side isn't having any fun unless they're making a fool out of the other. This goes for both. Events like these just make the situation worse. One side doesn't want some of the extra blood points, they want all of them.
The Gen rushing is just as bad if not worse right now. like I said above with the slugging and tunneling.
The reason I'm not happy with the DC's is more because it screws the rest of the team over when people do it. Lets not beat around the bush here. Any DC is done for selfish reasons no argument is going to change that.
