Salt and Wasted Cakes
Guys, I don't know what's going on today, but I am literally throwing my cakes away at this point. Every match there has been at least 1 DC. Killers are tunneling way, WAY worse than normal, and match-making is pairing me with bad teammates left and right, but killers who, regardless of rank, are clearly way more skilled than their opponents. I have had multiple games where I am getting 1st hook camped straight out the gate. The games I manage to work hard and loop well, teammates left me to die on first hook, even when they had no hooks/good gen progress.
I regrettfully DC'd just now, which I never do, because I spawned near the basement against a close-by Nemesis with Lethal Pursuer, had one accessible, not safe corner room loop on Hawkins, got downed after a short chase, thrown on the basement hook and rescued by a teammate who would not give me a protection hit to get out of the basement and ended up downed a second time. All starting within 30 seconds of the start of the match.
Like, I'm not expecting people to let me farm, but like, please, can I have a chance? And did I mention I'm on console? Cause it's already nigh impossible to play well on console right now due to the lost frames/stutters/desync...

I hate Lethal Pursuer. Probably the worst thing to be added to this game.

Don’t feel bad about the dc. I’m sick of killers getting rewarded for taking the game hostage and making it unplayable for everyone else. The tunneling and try hard attitudes today are out of control. Plus side, it will show devs Exactly what I’ve been talking about is true.

Because some killers are selfish and are only thinking of their points, not thinking camping is taking some away for standing near the hooked survivor.
Not going to lie, I will tunnel if I feel the game is going badly which is normally around 2 gens when I make my decision. I will also camp during ecg or if I know for certain there are other survivors there, not giving free unhooks if it's going to happen the very second I leave.
Until this point though I will try to get each survivor hooked if possible, still through selfish motivations though to get my 4 stacks of bbq, then try to juggle for another set of hooks. The problem is playing like this in red ranks is not that viable unless you are a really good killer and by the time you have 4 one hooks the gens are down to 2 or even 1.
I don't like to play the Red rank viable killers such as nurse and spirit so I struggle mostly. The people camping though are not maximising their points so the cakes are going to waste for everyone, although the killer will benefit mostly for a poor playstyle.

this is literally the reason why I don't bother bringing cakes anymore. Every single time I do I get killers going out of their way to sweat and tunnel/camp survivors to ensure that they don't get next to anything.

Yeah games are sweaty for no reason. This is just event week, just give break and try for more points. But no sadly.
And i do not know why but when i played survivor, most of my matches were with sooooo bad survivors.

I sincerely appreciate the support. It is so hard to enjoy this game sometimes when you value sportsmanship and the typical response is "Wah, get over it." Maybe it's cause I'm an older gamer and a horror fan outside of DBD, but horror fans are usually such a chill crowd, it's frustrating. Like, I am not going in expecting to win either. But I want an opportunity to have a good match and with the technical issues and the behavior of other players, it's just not happening right now. And during an event (and nearing the end of a Tome...) that really sucks.

From my side every game is gen rush city with 4 survivors that know how to loop really well and constant frame drops so even when i catch them i dont catch them.

Just had a game where everyone had cakes, even the killer, and yet he face camped the entire match.

But you can engage in behavior that essentially shuts a player entirely out of the game at the start. Taking hostage it might not be, but it is seriously flawed gameplay. If this were a Battle Royale style game, maybe this wouldn't be such a big issue, but when any reward is locked behind the length of engagement in the match and elements outside your control (RNG and Technical issues) take you out instead of your skill, that is troubling and should be addressed.
Also, kindly requesting less snark? Kinda dealing with enough of it right now. Always happy to engage in constructive chat, but all out of mental resources otherwise (anxiety/depressive disorders, please don't harass, thanks).

Wasn't harassing. Or being snarky. Just correcting an error in your statement. I have an aversion to hyperbole.
I agree it sucks when you are eliminated from the game early. But also think the killer is under no obligation to do survivors any favours. My solution. Move on, forget it, and hope for a better game.

I play a lot of Killer too and I do understand the frustration of this as well. I was a killer main until I started to struggle really badly even with killers whom I used to be good with. Not sure if that's the disparity of being on console and up against PC or what, but I know in Red Ranks the games are much faster and much more intense and to a degree, I enjoy that. Not so much when you feel like you can't get to survivors at all. So please don't think I'm one-sided on the issue, balance goes both ways and I absolutely will always make the argument in favor of both roles.

Thank you for the reply, tone and intent is always tricky on the internet. And usually I do just move on, but I've been trying to play for the last 5 hours or so and it's consistently been like this. Normally I'd just take a break, but I'm trying to get through the Tome/Rift since I stupidly paid for the pass before I got to the end of it. Some of the onus is on me as I seem to be a glutton for punishment. =(

When the games working properly its not AS bad, but right now trying to loop with good survivors is a nightmare :/

Ngl I've been running into the exact opposite. It may be the fact that I'm being a peaceful killer but I'm having really fun matches where we just goof around.

I hear you. My survivor game is awful lol. Taking me an eternity to get those objectives done. Hope you get some better games soon. Good luck!
