Is there a “Community Crowns” tracker?
How many community crowns are needed to unlock the event skins for David and Wraith?
Is there some sort of live-tracking progress bar somewhere, so we can see our current progress in relation to this target number?

There is no community challenge, it's just a way to get people playing the game and grinding crowns. They will give the skins out to everyone when they feel like it.

That’s kinda what I was hoping to prove with my question. Are we actually trying to hit a specific number or is this a “mind game” aimed at enticing killers to let survivors escape with crowns?
Not saying it’s a bad thing, btw. Last year there was so much toxicity trying to prevent survivors from getting crowns. It’s happening this year too it seems.

They're not going to go through the time it takes to create the skins, advertise them as a feature of the event, and then be like "Sorry guys, you were 570 crowns short! Better luck next year maybe?"

They aren’t particularly intricate skins though. They’re quite literally a pallette swap of their default outfit.
Besides, there has been an event before where the community goal wasn’t achieved. If I recall correctly, that was the fall masquerade.

I am aware of that, but even so. We could’ve gotten Bubba for free had players achieved the goal.
Besides, Bubba is a far more substantial reward that a pallette swap. It’s understandable that they wouldn’t want to throw away an entire license just because a community goal wasn’t achieved.

500k is a start, we don't know if they'll increase the requirement for the other rewards.
Besides, he might be right. BHVR wants to make us play their game, thus the community challenge. Imagine if we could track and realize we're getting like 30-50k crowns per day and the event is like 2 weeks.
They're gonna give us the rewards or we riot. I want the entire set for David, since he's my main survivor, next to Jeff.
Besides, the 500k Requirement is not even for a piece of the set, it's for 2 charms...

Because it would be an embarrassing PR disaster if we failed to hit the targets. If I were running a challenge like this, I would make 100% sure the rewards were being given out. The easiest way to do that is to keep the count secret and release them at predetermined times, regardless.

I'd guess that the goal is pretty achievable. They looked at last year's data and added new players into account, then set a reasonable goal.

This is true but I thought that event was specifically made incredibly difficult or even impossible to achieve because people had been complaining that prior event goals were designed to be completed no matter what. I may be wrong, though

It's just odd, that after 5 days of the Event, we didn't get the 500k crowns? There were 100k players during one day on Steam alone, so these people would just need to get 5 crowns each.

They did it with Leatherface though. You can argue that "well it's a killer" which is true, but shows that they have done in it in the past.

Still though, I think we would've had Bubba for free, as opposed to him being the paid DLC we have now. That's not the same as "giving away" a reward that wasn't achieved.

He's a license character, I highly doubt they would have given him away for free.
