Weaponizing goodwill.
It's just recently occurred to me how effective weaponized goodwill can be.
And by that, I mean briefly pretending to be friendly and farm.
My last game was against a Ghostface who simply couldn't close the distance on me. So when our Kate just ran over to headbutt him I guess and I desperately tried to follow behind to WMI heal her, she went down, and I was a good distance away--
Then the Ghostface stood still beside the Kate and swung toward her, looking at me. He wanted me to pick her up.. or so I thought.
In reality, when I came close to try and heal her, he attacked me. I ran back, and he immediately picked her up and killed her-- she was on her death hook.
He admitted postgame that it was a trick to get me close enough to attack. Which.. makes sense. It DID work. And I respect just going and straight-up admitting it.
Thoughts?

I'm actually a little surprised it doesn't happen more often

A Blight did this to me a few days back. It was on Sanctum of Wrath and we were on a rock loop. He swung from the other side of the pallet acting like he was going to farm and I fell for his bait. Luckily, he only got a 1k and I was one of the ones to make it out.

Well it's effectiveness can differ from person to person because for me, I don't trust any killer in this game lol. If a killer was struggling to catch me and all of a sudden wants me to do something in front of them, Oh hell no, thank you next.
IMO, its a pathetic tactic, but one that can work on many.

This is the problem. Some of the people you play with also play killer. If you do thst they arent going to forget you. Ive only seen one person do this and lets just say when they showed up in my match the next day they left a very long trail of blood from one side of thr map to the other

This is why I never trust people and don't leave anything to chance if I want to win.
But what's really funny is when j was testing Blight on a controller, I came across a bully squad that slammed 4 gens in 2 minutes and proceeded to swarm me. Then I unplugged my controller.

I STILL remember that doctor on Ironworks in 2018 fake being friendly, just to kill us all the end to get his adept trophy ._.

Eh, kind of a crappy thing to do overall. The game has enough of people trying to take advantage of others outside of the normal confines of the game. Is it the worst of the worst? Nah, but generally not cool.

Sometimes I let people go and I can tell the survivors are always on edge as though I will betray them. It is like, I committed this hard to letting you escape, I am not about to change my mind.

It is precisely why I do not trust farming killers.
I still remember that day...The Withering Blight event, 2019. I was playing on Old Fractured CowHell against a Huntress, who was apparently farming with the other survivors.
However, as I was quietly doing my gen, she grabbed me and camped me to death, while the other survivors escaped.
Farming during an event can be nice, but keep in mind that there is always a risk.

Hillbilly couldn't catch me at shack so he pretended to give up and tunnel me out, so I don't really farm anymore lol.

Had a Daily with GF on red ranks. Never play him, so of course, i got a 4 man SWF. Managed to get 2 hooks before the gates were powered. They opened the gate while 1 was hanging around in the basement, which was next to the opened gate.
So unhook, downing (expecting DS i didn´t pick up). We teabag each other, i get another down, more teabagging while the time passes. I finally hook the freshly downed survivor, gets instantly unhooked, body blocked and they run flashlight clicking and teabagging to the gate. Which was closed due to BW.
Everyone laughed after the match. Good times!
