Bodyblocking with BT

I dont understand survivors who bodyblock right off the hook when they have BT. Like I'm not trying to tunnel you but if you are actively stopping me from going after another survivor instead of you, I will take this as an open invitation to put your butt right back on that hook. I just find it funny that there are players who do that and then claim I'm tunneling. Hun you are actively giving me the go ahead to down you after BT runs out.

And then they have the nerve to get made at you when you decide to put them back on the hook. At that point, they brought it on themselves, yet they still get mad

    it's so annoying.

Using an anti tunneling perk offensively makes me wanna tunnel.

I agree with you but sometimes it can be a strategy. When I play with my friends who are new to the game, I like to be tunneled because my chases are longer and they can do generators.

    True.

For instance, if the rescuer is exposed for any reason, the unhooked survivor may take a hit to prevent an easy down for the killer.

true, but when they dont have the skills to back it up, it kinda hurts the rest of the team.

If they're claiming you're tunneling because they take a hit, meh. Ignore them. I will take the hit if the Killer is close and my teammate rescuing me is injured. That's just a sound play as opposed to giving another down. BT is going to run out anyway and Killer could still choose to chase me and just wait for it to be gone.

And before anyone goes off about unsafe hooks, when a Killer is soft camping, there maybe no 'safe' unhook option to take.

I don't actively go for the person pulled off the hook but if you get in my way, I'm going to hit you. That way you have to waste time mending.

As for people who do that and call me a tunneler. I stopped caring what other people think of me a long time ago.

I always go for the unhooker but darn survivors can be fast and the one with BT gets the block.

I try so hard not to tunnel but its moments like that I am damn, what do you want from me? Hit the survivor with BT protection and then go for the unhooker? Because that is just not practical my dudes!

When I play killer it's usually easy enough to spot and play around that I don't find it terribly offensive honestly. In narrow maps it can certainly be a really strong power play though.

When I play survivor and the killer contests the unhook, the rescuer is usually wounded by the time the unhook is finished. I run WGLF almost 100% of the time so it's a really easy protection stack and you're also generally hoping you'll buy the rescuer enough time to actually have a chase rather than just immediately trade the hook.

This is one thing that actively bugs me. If it's done to me, I WILL tunnel you out of the game.

It can be a real pain in the arse. Just tunnel then out of the game.

EGC noed, it’s kinda the smart move if it’s close to the gates

    but that’s pretty rare.

I honestly do not care too much, a hit is a hit and I can still chase the other person if I so desire. But usually it is easier to find the person who body blocked for obvious reasons.

Yeah. I mean, I don't see body-blocking as an issue unless it's being done to physically prevent a hook. But if you intentionally put yourself between the Killer and another Survivor, BT or no, you don't get to call it tunneling.

I bodyblock when I get BT off the hook all the time. Sprint Burst + Killer weapon wipe animation lock? If you go after me I usually have a route planned and if you go after the unhooker they have a health state they wouldn't have otherwise. If you do manage to tunnel me I get a free ticket to a different trial. You really can't lose.

    It their choice.

I do not see any reason not go after the bodyblocker. Even thou it is pretty fun just to wait out BT if they are standing in your way forever. Some survivors can get baited very easy.

As long as they do not blame me for tunneling I am fine with that. After all if you consider it optimal to bodyblock (Rescuer is injured) then that is your decision. Some survivors are smart enough to bodyblock while running to safety and they deserve the reward for this play. Others are dumb and stand still trying to bodyblock and then BT runs out on them, they go back to the hook as punishment for a bad play.

Honestly, this is a fine mechanic: It rewards good survivors and punishes bad ones. Just do not blame the Killer for tunneling if they do this. Also for Killers: If you hate this so much, consider running Safe the Best.
