What if Spirit straight up just disappeared and didn't leave a husk while phasing?
A lot of the pain of facing spirit comes from not being able to tell if she is using her power. Would just making her straight up invisible be a decent way to remove this problem?
The way I play spirit I tend to not care about hiding my phasing and just trying to predict where the survivors will be and cut them off, so this would mostly nerf just the "standing still" mind games that everyone hates.
I do think if this was a thing then Spirit would need something in return, but this would be a good start to give an indication that the spirit is using their power.

It would be a significant nerf to her, but I'd think she'll still be somewhat strong since you can't see her while phasing. As long as she phases correctly, she'll almost be the same prior to this change.

I feel like that makes her TOO similar to wraith

That technically won't get rid of the stand still mind game, Spirit could just activate her power and stand still for a bit. Still, would be nice to know Spirit is actually phasing (there's no guessing on that) so I think it'd be a good band-aid fix.

But she atleast is using her power in that scenario and she doesnt see the survivor either so it's still a read unlike now where she knows exactly where survivor is and wouldn't have to use her power so once she gets that free hit she instantly phases and get another.

Sadly the problem with nerfing anything about Spirit will either make her unfun to play as, or will defeat the purpose of her kit. She's designed to trick survivor's hence why she's a guessing game. The only way to nerf Spirit is to rework her ground up or in otherwords delete her and reintroduce her with a different kit.

Honestly I think it'd be a prime opportunity to inject a lot of horror into this game. Desync the model from the person playing the killer during phase and while the killer can't see it, the Spirit's model should bolt after nearby survivors for no other purpose than to disorient and scare the survivors.
