Reason why Killers BP earn is so high compared to Survivors
Beside camping which you gain nothing...
I will list down some key score events for each Category:
- Killer:
Brutality: Grabbing / Kicking / Hitting
Deviousness: Using power
Hunter: Start a chase / Chasing time
Sacrifice: Hooking
- Survivor:
Objective: Gen, Coop Gen / Gen skill check / Chest / Gate
Survival: Fight back Killer's power / Escape
Altruism: Heal, Coop Heal / Unhook / Shield
Boldness: Fight back Killer (physically) / Chased / Totem / Sabo
- Killer game play:
You find a survivor working on a Gen, you kick Gen (Brutality), start a chase (Hunter), chasing (Hunter), kick pallet (Brutality), use power (Deviousness), hit them (Brutality), continue on chase (Hunter), kick pallet (Brutality), use power (Deviousness), hit them (Brutality), hook them (Sacrifice)
You earn Brutality x 5 ; Deviousness x2 ; Hunter x 3 ; Sacrifice x 1. Go in to 4 categories.
- Survivor game play:
You're working on a Gen (Objective) with another survivor (Objective), found then get chased (Boldness), pallet stun (Boldness), take hit, continue on chase (Boldness), pallet stun (Boldness), blind Killer (Boldness), take hit, hooked.
You earn Objective x 2 ; Boldness x 5.
Here you can see after a chase, Killer gains over 10 score events that spread into 4 categories, equally. For Survivor part, if you take out the Gen, everything you earn goes directly into a single category Boldness.
Now, if you get camped or tunneled. You know what you get. Another chase, continue on chase (Boldness), pallet stun (Boldness), blind Killer (Boldness), take hit, hooked. Again you earned another Boldness x 3.
And after a match, this is what you get
Sorry this was vs Spirit as adept Felix so the Boldness wasnt at Max. But I think I did a pretty good job. This match I was robbed Objective & Altruism BP, as other Survivors were robbed their Altruism point because they didnt have any chance to heal me, or meat shield because they're busy Gen rush or everyone dies. While Killer earned some fat score through 3 chases, at least 20 score events through all 4 categories by get rid of me out of the game.
Im not complaining about tunneling here, but I feel its time to add more score event for Survivor that can earn BP mixed categories. I could only think of a few:
- A Gen done while you're in chase (Survival or Objective)
- Shift Totem from Boldness to Survival. Why? Because when you get 2 hooks and lucky enough to escape from the tunneling, its much more reasonable to find and destroy Totem because its safer than doing Gen. But you dont gain anymore BP because both 2 chases & Totem go into a single Boldness category.
- Lead Killer into a healthy Survivor why being on last hook (Survival). I put some requirements because you should not earn BP if you're healthy and lead Killer into an injured team mate on last hook.
- Shift all skill check to Survival.
- Chain breaker / Destroy Hag traps / Seal Portal / Disarm ect...Should also go from Boldness into Survival
I want the Survival category to be earned more because the only way to earn Survival the most is to escape, other wise you barely earn them.

Yeah you can't expect a survivor to do a ton of gens, run the killer for a long time, and get a ton of saves/heals. One survivor can only do one thing at a time.

Exactly, which I wish 1 thing that can give out a little to other categories. Rather than Gen to Objective, Coop Gen to Objective, skill check also go into Objective.

Honestly, the simplest solution I can think of is this: 50% of the bloodpoints you earn at the end of a match come from your specific actions, same as they do right now. The other 50%, in addition, will be collectively given to all survivors across the match when it is over based on group efforts. That way it can feel more like a team game rather than everyone struggling to get enough points themselves by cannibalizing others' points, but can still reward the good players and give bad players a reason to get better.
Numbers obviously could be tweaked, but it is really strange that a TEAM experience doesn't reward people as a team.

TEAM experience doesn't reward people as a team.
They do, Coop Gen/Heal, run near Killer when he's chasing another survivor, tanking a hit ect. But the BP is really cheap except Coopy Gen (200 for Coop Heal, 200 for tanking a hit..)
The only fat point Survivors get is Late heal, late unhook...but those time not always come.

My instinct is that killers probably play fewer matches per hour because they always have to stay for the whole thing, so they should be getting more BP so that it works out to the same average amount of BP/hour played.

Yes, if you get 3k BP after being tunneled out of game for 3min. I dont have fun with the game but I accept the BP I get. But if Im able to hold longer. All I get is 8k BP cap of Boldness. Which is why I want categories to be mixed with each other.

all 4 Killer BP cathegories are centered around one thing: chases
Survivors on the other hand have to do 4 different things to get their BP, which means, when compared to Killer, Survivors have it much harder to earn BP in the limited time that is given to them each match.

Of course you have to Gen rush because of tunneling. You dont do totems at 4 Gen when a team mate is on last hook.

Here are some scores that I would change:
- THE BOLDNESS CATEGORY IS RENAMED TO SELF-DEFENSE
- Cleansing totems will instead award points in the objective category rather than in self-defense
- Dropping pallets, stunning the killer, blinding the killer and escaping their grasp will also award points in the survival category, but only 10% from the self-defense value
- When saved by another survivor (from hook, heal etc) you will now recieve 350 points in the survival category.
- All actions from the survival and self-defense categories will also award 10% of their value in the objective category

Honestly they should up the bp caps to 12k anyway. If your hooked and camped too should be getting a steady % of everything everyone else is doing to encourage you stay and waste the killers time.

I feel the survival category has so little events to earn. If you did good in a match but not manage to escape, your survival mostly 2k compared to other 6-8k. And if you're tunneled and able to run for 5 Gen but die in the end, all you get is 8k Boldness + 2k Survival.
I cant think any idea to make all categories can be mixed with other. The Survival is the only one that can be improved.

I feel like Killer BP is still lame. The games grind is one of the craziest I have ever seen. The solutions need to be systematic changes, not a slight buff to survivors, in my opinion.

The sad thing is that even if survivors cycle and do things the way that they should by all sharing the killers attention / cycling hook states, all it takes is one killer to camp and tunnel someone out to disrupt that.
And as stated multiple times in this thread already, Survival is a bit of a cracked category where the bulk of points comes from escaping the trial successfully (A whopping 5000 points). There are so many actions that should contribute towards Survival instead of Objective points like opening chests and cleansing totems.
Honestly I think survivor emblem categories need some looking at overall to help balance things out a bit.

The grind is lame because of Perk tiers. Just remove Perk tier and you cut down 35% of grind.
Killer BP is good, if you keep pressure and make some hook, even without a single kill, you can earn 25k. An average survivor earn 15-20k if not escape.

The problem if you can farm survival points without escaping that kills the whole point of the game.

I think just survival is hard to max out, cause you get points in this category only with deliverance, ds, selfcareing and escape. If you die you earn maybe 1k-2k bloodpoints there... the other categories are only difficult if the killer is to strong in the trail or he‘s to bad and doesn’t hit or hook survivor, cause then there is nothing to do...
It would be nice if you earn more points in the survival category for example for the skillchecks on second hook, or points for win a chase (in my eyes it’s part of survival), or take a hit for a mates who is on deathhook.
