I've got an interesting solution to RCPD map gameplay problems.
Most(if not all) people in this game can agree that Racoon City Police Department is a very bad map gameplay wise and devs can't really do much about it since it's an licensed map.
I wanted to hear your opinion on my solution which not great but it's something.
People who played this game for quite a while know what RNG on maps are. And that's how I want to change this map.
I propose that only one wing of the department can be accessed during a trial and RNG will decide which.
Basically in my fix players would be able to access main hall and wing with the library or main hall and wing with roof access.
I want to hear your opinion because it can be quite a controversial change.

I will take anything that will make the map less of a maze and mainly... less of a size of whole atlantic ocean.

I dont think you realize how small the map would become, if you did that.
I've said it before and I'll say it again, I think that majority of the "problems," players have with this map, come from lack of knowing the layout, as evidenced by the person calling it a "maze." It's not a maze; I have no difficulty finding my way around it because I know the layout. It's actually extremely easy to navigate, especially with the DBD alterations to the layout.
Before anyone proposes changes, I think everyone needs to learn the map and play on it a bit.

Blight is unusable in this map because every hallway, every corridor, every walkable space is too narrow because they weren't made with a playable character the size of a killer in mind. Also, every single loop in the map has detritus jutting out of it instead of being just a smooth shape, which means you can't slide, you can't flick, you will bump into ######### you can't even see and you're reduced to an M1 killer. Oh and lets not forget that there are loops where you can't catch up to a survivor and you don't initiate chase either, so the windows don't get blocked, pretty much infinites, so Blight's power doesn't work, and as an M1 killer you get destroyed by infinites...
Unless they redo collisions on objects to allow Blight to slide past some stuff or just make everything in the map a little wider, this map, no matter if it's one half or both, will be utterly unplayable for Blight. I refuse to play in this map unless they do something about it.
But your idea is good. It's a popular solution to the problem of this map being to big with winding paths.

The other problem with it is the map is as big as 2 story Haddonfield and most of the killer won't even see because survivors don't run that way.
My change is controversial, but you cannot deny that the map is too big. I think with my proposal the map becomes about size of Midwich, but I maybe wrong.

I would bet money it's not a 2 story Haddonfield, nor do I think 1 half of the map is the size of Midwich. The map isn't really that big, it's mid-sized, you just can't run in a straight line, from one side to the other. Which leads to my point: people dont know how to navigate the map, so they think it's huge.
I'm telling you, if you cut the map in half, it'd probably be one of the smallest maps in the game; and as soon as everyone learned the layout, they'd be complaining about how small it is. There just isn't enough to each wing to sustain a whole map. I don't even think you could work enough Gens and loops into one half of the map, for it to be fair.
Bottom line, until players know the map, they shouldn't be proposing changes; and based on how many comments I see calling the map a "maze," or a "labyrinth," and how many complaints I see about how players can't find anything or get lost, I'd bet most players still don't really know the map.
To be fair, I'm not saying the map is good or bad; even knowing the map, I need more time to figure that out(although, it seemed to play well on the Survivor's side, the 4-5 times I've been on it). I just think all the hate this map is getting right now is knee-jerk and/or bandwagoning off of the frustration of not knowing it and having to learn it.

I think you're right. I didn't have an opportunity to play dbd since the start of July and I only played on the map once when it came out. My was frozen for more than half of the match so yeah I don't really know much about it.
But I still think it's big enough to deserve hate from killers. Pressuring gens on this map can only be achieved with Nightmare, Hag(after a down) and Nurse, maybe Wraith. But every other killers chokes on this map and has to resort to camping to get some kills.
