Why do the devs continually add ugly ghoul & goblin men?
I mean look at this
Mind you this is the face of their game
Just a grotesque looking man staring on the front cover of their game. Why do they have the men in their game look like this, but then the women are all America's next top model? And before people mention Trickster that's one man out of all the other killers. Its misandrist they design males like this.

Charlotte looks like Americas next Top Model? Ooof.

This discussion seems kinda weird after the community literally lost their minds over Quentin. Felix also exists. Jake too. David has a shirtless skin. And why are all killers supposed to be sexy again?
10 -
Ignoring the chest hole she has a symmetrical face, few facial disfigurements, & a well proportioned body. Now look at billy or Blight, you can't make the same assessments
1 -
Which female killer exactly looks like America’s Next Topmodel?
And since you are using Trapper with mask, don’t take those female killer as survivor renders from YouTube please, but the actual in-Game designs
1 -
Because they are Killer and its a " Horror " Game 🤷🏻♀️
3 -
When you compare only the male & female killers one can see an obvious bias in their design

I wish I versed Trickster more. The view never gets old.

I would like to add Plague to the table.
Yes her base without putrefaction is beautiful but she is probably the one of the most disfigured killer of the game, after Hag.
Which means the top 2 disfigured killers are both female.
3 -
I said Trickster doesn't count because thats one male killer out of all the non-ugly female characters

Good

I mean, they're slashers. They're not all going to look drop dead gorgeous, they're going to look creepy or at the very least, "different. If you can't look at them and keep your voice down that's your problem.
8 -
But all female killers look ugly..
You could say Charlotte may look relatively normal, but even then with your logic she would just be an exception and she looks still objectively ugly.
edit: if Charlotte counts as good-looking, then Clown actually counts as well.. and Deathslinger too to some degree.
3 -
This is such a strange take. This is a horror game and these are all killers, they’re not supposed to all be sex icons.
3 -
Myers doesn't look so bad.
5 -
Name one male model who looks close facially or body wise to some of these male killers? I'm sorry, but someone's gotta call out the devs on this one.
0 -
Huntress is big and bulky and wears animal heads as mask
Nurse literally has her face completely covered or on some cosmetics has her mouth grotesquely wide open.
Hag… well I don’t think I have to say anything (though the America’s Next Topmodel conparison fits her probably best)
Pig is licensed.. and literally a pig head.
Spirit, maybe if you ignore the skin color and expression. But I would still say Trickster looks way better and this is the one exception for the females.
Plague, rotting and pus, plus the very. Fact her whole thing is vomiting.
Charlotte looks a little more normal, but then again she is still designed to not look beautiful at all. And again, if she counts why doesn’t Clown? And don’t say because he is fat..
Legion is also male and female and I guess those count as definitely similarly designed for both genders.
now if you wanna twist it with ‚but without the mask etc‘ then please take a look at Trapper and Oni without masks. And keep in mind most males just wear masks. And the licensed ones don’t really count as the devs have no way of designing them differently. There is no bias.

Why is OP not comparing Killers to other Killers and Survivors to other Survivors?
(It's because OP is being disingenuous.)
4 -
>:/ I don't want sexier male killers that isn't the point of my post.

There are several and I love them all

Okay, doing a deep dive here. Not that deep, though, I just looked up all the unmasked killer models and such.
Firstly, let's get some obvious ones out of the way. The male members of The Legion look completely normal without their masks. In fact, one could argue they are surprisingly attractive.
Trickster is super obvious because he doesn't wear a mask.
Michael Myers, when he was younger, was a fairly attractive man. Now, we don't know what age he is in the game, but if he's classic Myers, that means he's a fairly good looking man with a single (and arguably minor) disfigurement around his eye that doesn't really detract from his visual. If he's older, well, he's a fairly normal looking older fellow with a disfigurement around his left eye.
Ghostface likely looks like a normal man as well. Going through the list of every Ghostface there's ever been, most have been normal or attractive men or women. DbDs Ghostface is male, so he is likely to be a fairly attractive male.
So far, that's 5 men that are or are likely fairly attractive.
Now for the women.
Huntress, if you go by her in game model unmasked, looks fairly normal and kinda nice.
Amanda Young has the benefit of having an actress portray her, so she looks normal. One could argue she is attractive, so we'll go ahead and include her.
Spirit is going on the attractive list because, despite her rather severe mutilations, many find her attractive.
I don't really know if I'd include Plague on the list. Her deformities are pretty extreme, and any beauty you can find in her design is juxtaposed by rot and decay that sets off ones "EW NECRO" alarm.
So that's 3, maybe 4 that could be argued as attractive.
Of ALL of them, only one of them is outright sexy: That's Trickster. He's the ONLY one that is very intentionally designed to be attractive without digging up unmasked models and the like. None of the females seem to be overly designed to be attractive.
It's also worth pointing out that unmasked models aren't very good indicators of what a Killer looks like under their mask. Normally, only a portion of their face or head are designed to be seen, and this is generally made to simply work with their cosmetics. What they actually look like under their masks could be very different if you go by the devs. Case in point, the Doomslayer from Doom 2016 and Doom Eternal was in Quake Champions. While in Quake Champions, his unmasked model was the head of BJ Blaskowitz from Wolfenstein. This is not what he actually looked like, but rather a place holder model that was there to simply provide some human features if you looked closely enough at his visor. When ID properly modeled what his face looked like, Quake Champions changed the head model they used, but that was years later. Rainbow Six Siege has also done this with their older Operators. When the game was new, the majority of their Operators wore masks with only a few exceptions. Several of them have received updated facial models when the time came to unmask them. Notably Blitz, who went through multiple extreme makeovers including his eye color, head shape, cheek and chin shape, etc.
In conclusion:
This complaint seems be one of three things. It's cherry picked to the point of absurdity, an attempt at trolling, or manufactured outrage. The only thing which really was worth noting was the ratio of male to female Killers, where females have considerably less representation. If one wanted to argue for more female Killers, I'd be fine with that, since the data shows they make up only about 30% of the roster.

isn't being hideous and disfigured the entire frigging point of half the killer designs? Nemesis and Hillbilly in particular?
3 -
oh dear you should know that this comminity is beyond thirsty

I don't think we have the same definiton of " Top models" then, most female characters in this game looks terrible...and that's fine.
If anything they have better looking dudes than gals in this game, idk if you saw how trapper looks without his mask but he's pretty handsome.

:(
1 -
This is a horror game mind you, even when it doesn't look like one. All of the characters have either masks or disfigurements. Besides trickter there basically isn't anyone fancy looking.
2 -
Call of the devs on this one?! Are you trying to rub one out or play the game? They're supposed to be horrific figures and the female killers are not too pretty either. Hag is ugly, plague is disfigured, charlotte is plain ugly, pig has a pig head, spirit is a ghost and maybe she was pretty when she was alive but she is DEAD, that's not what I'm into. What are you on about???!!?!?
0 -
Hag is America's Next Top Model? Or Nurse?
3 -
Given that you are only talking about killers, there's only one who doesn't have either a mask or twisted, mutilated face and/or body in the entire game: Trickster.
And if you're talking about survivors, then it's purely down to personal taste and pointless to discuss. You may as well be trying to start an argument about your favourite number.
3 -
The female killers (excluding Pig) look pretty miserable and terrifying (including Huntress) dunno what you're on about.

This discussion is ridiculous tbh

They're horror villains, so I think if they looked attractive or cute it would kind of defeat the purpose.
2 -
Shirtless Henry Cavill killer when?
2 -
Come on guys, from OP's answers it is clear he's trolling you. Don't take the bait.
2 -
Cause teletubbies arent scary. Moatly.

0/10 bad bait.
The OP forgot that Clown exists. Clown could have been Americas Next Top Model, but he's on a mission from The Entity. Clown has it all, the looks, the laugh, the brains, the talent, and a chronic breathing condition (everyone loves an underdog story).
Look at how majestic he is as he steps through a window, how he spins his knife after a hit, and how he can lob bottles of mysterious liquids with pinpoint accuracy.

"misandrist" because the majority expects female characters to look good and sexy and males not? LOL of course...
1 -
I genuinely don't find a single aspect or element of this game sexy or attractive. I play for the challenge, fun and somewhat horror aspect. For me there's a time and place for sexiness and its not in a horror game for me.
Killers pretty much will always be grotesque and unattractive. Attractive and beautiful things don't tea bag or hang corpses on meat hooks 🙃

They're both beautiful.
Leave my damn Blighty boi and Billy Boi Alone >=I
1 -
Why are you trying to create a problem where there's none?
4 -
agreed.
every Killer should look as perfect as he does!
2 -
Yes, the devs are purposefully making the male killers grotesque looking while the females look fine mostly.
0 -
Why are you ignoring sexism?

I'm calling bait on this topic, but also have to compliment the OP on a unique attempt in perhaps the weirdest, most unexpected way to get a rise I've seen thus far.
0 -
I'm not even entirely certain what this complaint is about but I will point out one thing, visual design is entirely different and unique for every single character. So to group all of them into two separate categories based on gender is both a false connection as well as an overgeneralization, since OP is basically saying that they all have the same visual design or at least the same intention, which they don't. (And as numerous people have pointed out- Trickster [A Male Character] proves this)
Take a look at Clown for example: one of the central themes which surrounds his character is overindulgence. It's described in his lore that he once was an athletic young man who "grew tall and strong, excelling at track events" however, (likely due to the poor home environment and family dynamic having a father with a bad drinking habit) eventually overindulged in his own bad habits. It's quite blatantly laid out in the lore: "Drinks, junk food, drugs, he indulged in all of them to excess." and this included his propensity to kill: "the rush" of power he felt over a victim lording his natural athleticism and greater body weight to overpower his victims and indulging in these vices without restraint, hesitation, or a second thought. The Clown's design reflects this and his overindulgence is reflected through his base appearance, the great big belly a physical representation of the unhealthy lifestyle he led, and the collection of fingers at his side a manifestation of the dark desires and impulses he indulges in.
Whereas another killer, let's look at a female one- such as Huntress focuses on an entirely different set of thematic ideas, raised in isolation after the trauma of losing her only family member (her mother) on a dangerous hunt, she grew up outside of a normal societal framework and lacked the opportunity to form any real significant social connections. The Huntress is very much like the wildlife around her, she's of a strong, muscular build and frame necessary to survive in the feral wilderness and her eyes are very much the same way: pitch black and animal-like which makes her connection to the beasts of nature all the stronger. This is all contrasted by the gentle image of a white (or brown) hare which she wears to cover her face, an innocent image which reflects her naive mental state which is implied to have never matured after her trauma as a child. It is also a comforting image rather than menacing, the symbol of a rabbit meant to provide solace and console the young girls which she kidnaps due to an awakened motherly instinct, making the mask all the more unnerving.
These two characters are drastically different and predictably because of this they look drastically different, the grotesque appearance of the Clown is quite simply not meant or fitting for the character of huntress because of the disparate motivations and personalities, which culminate into their overall character as they fit into the environments and frames of their own stories.
I would argue this is true of at least most characters in Dead By Daylight who revolve around their own different story elements and ideas if not every single one of them.

The obvious counter arguement is that you are disregarding body positivity and reinforcing unrealisitc body standards. People come in all shapes and sizes, as such there is diversity in the physical makeup of characters.
But this is bait thread, so I shall rely on my previous statement that the Clown is truly superior than any other character.
Follow up: Demogoron is the next ideal body. Look at their smile, with all those lovely teeth. They have the height and the arms to be able to dunk without jumping, they are a dream basketball player. Their shred would make them a force to be reckoned with as a Football Lineman. They also have the lung capacity of an opera singer, and a voice to go with it.

This is really the type of crap yall are complaining about right now? Really? The fact that a male killer is not sexy enough for you in a survival horror game? They are supposed to look scary and terrifying. There is no killer that doesn't (apart from trickster). If you want looks on fictionalized characters then go play another game like a dating sim or go watch some anime.

Dunno what you're on about, The Trapper was adorable before his rework. A lot of people also find Wraith adorable, not to mention he's tall and slender while still having a muscular upper body; I'd totally hit that.
Nemesis is a licensed character, it's not like BHVR designed him. Plus he's tall and strong and he has tentacles; while he may not have the most attractive face, paper bags exist for a reason.

Trickster, pyramid head, ghostface, Micheal all look grotesque? Charlotte, huntress, hag, and spirit all look like America's next top model?
