Why do the devs continually add ugly ghoul & goblin men?

I mean look at this

Mind you this is the face of their game

Just a grotesque looking man staring on the front cover of their game. Why do they have the men in their game look like this, but then the women are all America's next top model? And before people mention Trickster that's one man out of all the other killers. Its misandrist they design males like this.

Ignoring the chest hole she has a symmetrical face, few facial disfigurements, & a well proportioned body. Now look at billy or Blight, you can't make the same assessments

Which female killer exactly looks like America’s Next Topmodel?

And since you are using Trapper with mask, don’t take those female killer as survivor renders from YouTube please, but the actual in-Game designs

Because they are Killer and its a " Horror " Game 🤷🏻‍♀️

When you compare only the male & female killers one can see an obvious bias in their design

I would like to add Plague to the table.

Yes her base without putrefaction is beautiful but she is probably the one of the most disfigured killer of the game, after Hag.

Which means the top 2 disfigured killers are both female.

I said Trickster doesn't count because thats one male killer out of all the non-ugly female characters

But all female killers look ugly..

You could say Charlotte may look relatively normal, but even then with your logic she would just be an exception and she looks still objectively ugly.

edit: if Charlotte counts as good-looking, then Clown actually counts as well.. and Deathslinger too to some degree.

This is such a strange take. This is a horror game and these are all killers, they’re not supposed to all be sex icons.

Name one male model who looks close facially or body wise to some of these male killers? I'm sorry, but someone's gotta call out the devs on this one.

Why is OP not comparing Killers to other Killers and Survivors to other Survivors?

(It's because OP is being disingenuous.)

isn't being hideous and disfigured the entire frigging point of half the killer designs? Nemesis and Hillbilly in particular?

I don't think we have the same definiton of " Top models" then, most female characters in this game looks terrible...and that's fine.

If anything they have better looking dudes than gals in this game, idk if you saw how trapper looks without his mask but he's pretty handsome.

This is a horror game mind you, even when it doesn't look like one. All of the characters have either masks or disfigurements. Besides trickter there basically isn't anyone fancy looking.

Call of the devs on this one?! Are you trying to rub one out or play the game? They're supposed to be horrific figures and the female killers are not too pretty either. Hag is ugly, plague is disfigured, charlotte is plain ugly, pig has a pig head, spirit is a ghost and maybe she was pretty when she was alive but she is DEAD, that's not what I'm into. What are you on about???!!?!?

Hag is America's Next Top Model? Or Nurse?

Given that you are only talking about killers, there's only one who doesn't have either a mask or twisted, mutilated face and/or body in the entire game: Trickster.

And if you're talking about survivors, then it's purely down to personal taste and pointless to discuss. You may as well be trying to start an argument about your favourite number.

They're horror villains, so I think if they looked attractive or cute it would kind of defeat the purpose.

"misandrist" because the majority expects female characters to look good and sexy and males not? LOL of course...

I genuinely don't find a single aspect or element of this game sexy or attractive. I play for the challenge, fun and somewhat horror aspect. For me there's a time and place for sexiness and its not in a horror game for me.

Killers pretty much will always be grotesque and unattractive. Attractive and beautiful things don't tea bag or hang corpses on meat hooks 🙃

Yes, the devs are purposefully making the male killers grotesque looking while the females look fine mostly.

I'm calling bait on this topic, but also have to compliment the OP on a unique attempt in perhaps the weirdest, most unexpected way to get a rise I've seen thus far.

  • Seiko300

I'm not even entirely certain what this complaint is about but I will point out one thing, visual design is entirely different and unique for every single character. So to group all of them into two separate categories based on gender is both a false connection as well as an overgeneralization, since OP is basically saying that they all have the same visual design or at least the same intention, which they don't. (And as numerous people have pointed out- Trickster [A Male Character] proves this)

Take a look at Clown for example: one of the central themes which surrounds his character is overindulgence. It's described in his lore that he once was an athletic young man who "grew tall and strong, excelling at track events" however, (likely due to the poor home environment and family dynamic having a father with a bad drinking habit) eventually overindulged in his own bad habits. It's quite blatantly laid out in the lore: "Drinks, junk food, drugs, he indulged in all of them to excess." and this included his propensity to kill: "the rush" of power he felt over a victim lording his natural athleticism and greater body weight to overpower his victims and indulging in these vices without restraint, hesitation, or a second thought. The Clown's design reflects this and his overindulgence is reflected through his base appearance, the great big belly a physical representation of the unhealthy lifestyle he led, and the collection of fingers at his side a manifestation of the dark desires and impulses he indulges in.

Whereas another killer, let's look at a female one- such as Huntress focuses on an entirely different set of thematic ideas, raised in isolation after the trauma of losing her only family member (her mother) on a dangerous hunt, she grew up outside of a normal societal framework and lacked the opportunity to form any real significant social connections. The Huntress is very much like the wildlife around her, she's of a strong, muscular build and frame necessary to survive in the feral wilderness and her eyes are very much the same way: pitch black and animal-like which makes her connection to the beasts of nature all the stronger. This is all contrasted by the gentle image of a white (or brown) hare which she wears to cover her face, an innocent image which reflects her naive mental state which is implied to have never matured after her trauma as a child. It is also a comforting image rather than menacing, the symbol of a rabbit meant to provide solace and console the young girls which she kidnaps due to an awakened motherly instinct, making the mask all the more unnerving.

These two characters are drastically different and predictably because of this they look drastically different, the grotesque appearance of the Clown is quite simply not meant or fitting for the character of huntress because of the disparate motivations and personalities, which culminate into their overall character as they fit into the environments and frames of their own stories.

I would argue this is true of at least most characters in Dead By Daylight who revolve around their own different story elements and ideas if not every single one of them.

This is really the type of crap yall are complaining about right now? Really? The fact that a male killer is not sexy enough for you in a survival horror game? They are supposed to look scary and terrifying. There is no killer that doesn't (apart from trickster). If you want looks on fictionalized characters then go play another game like a dating sim or go watch some anime.

Dunno what you're on about, The Trapper was adorable before his rework. A lot of people also find Wraith adorable, not to mention he's tall and slender while still having a muscular upper body; I'd totally hit that.

Nemesis is a licensed character, it's not like BHVR designed him. Plus he's tall and strong and he has tentacles; while he may not have the most attractive face, paper bags exist for a reason.

Trickster, pyramid head, ghostface, Micheal all look grotesque? Charlotte, huntress, hag, and spirit all look like America's next top model?
