6 second switching.

To my fellow killer mains and players, how do you deal with someone 6 second switching a key and a map on you? Aside from just say tunneling out the key. And what is your attitude to survivors who do it and how does that affect how you play in that match? Do you think 6 second switching is a problem?

I read it. I just don’t think you are in a position to be crying about anything.

Wah wah the survivors swapped to good items when I’m running the strongest builds in the game oh noooo

I am not a killer who will tunnel/camp/slug unless there is a very good and desperate reason for it

Someone bringing a key in that fashion (just having a key in my eyes is fine) means you do not get that courtesy

I will do my best to keep all four alive as long as possible (since one of them dying means the hatch is likely to spawn) and a lot of times that will mean people are getting slugged once people are on their Death Hooks.

If you're going to play like that, two can play. It's an absolutely dirty move to do to a killer and I will have zero qualms about playing dirty right back if you pull that kind of ish.

I was trio swiffing with 2 randoms that friended up with me. They were really laid back but 3 or 4 games in a row one of them kept last second swapping to a key. That’s actually how we first met.. they last second swapped to a key vs my twins. I didn’t actively try to slug but when it happened I hooked the key swapper and waited for a Kobe to second stage and followed the snail trail for the other slugs lol. Typically if I see a key from beginning to end of the pregame lobby I just play as I originally intended to and I don’t put on Franklin’s or anything like that.

I joked with them and said I would sandbag and lead the killer to them if they keep key swapping like that. I don’t care all that much about keys but I told them to at least be holding it in your hand at the start of the lobby. Especially since killers can’t last second swap to a different character with maybe a more suitable power and build etc.

I understand why people last second swap so definitely not bashing them here.. I get it. We all do what we gotta do sometimes.

Then what is the discussion? Do you play different when survivors have certain items? Sure. I won’t pretend this isn’t a thinly veiled complaint about keys and maps.

But don’t act like the builds you are running are much better. That build is about as easy as it gets when it comes to killer.

    Pot meet kettle.

Tbh the people that do that want me to not have fun, so why should they. If I can manage to remember which character they have, they get no game from me. I chase, hit and so on the other survivor but will completely ignore the switcher(s). Maybe they get altruism points or points for objectives but damn if a last second switcher will get any attention from me.

The same way if they brought a key without switching. Tunnel/camp.

While yes, I don't like player switch at the last second, I treat them the same as I would if a key was in the game.

Try to keep an mental note on the keys location, and when it become viable. Then try to use the info against them. A key on the ground is great bait.

I think this is a d move tbh. I would never do this.

I somewhat understand it when it happened before, back in the day when you got kicked out of lobbies when killers dodge. But now it is just pathetic.

I don't even notice because I am usually looking at my phone. Rofl.

I am just playing for fun, if they are THAT desperate to leave the game early, I could really care less.

Close game while in the lobby or offering screen. Back to the queues they go!

It honestly has never bothered me, I've always readied first as killer allowing survivors to equip whatever items and such they want.

I'm probably already readied up and alt tabbed watching some random ######### on youtube so I most likely didn't even notice

Either way I'm glad there's one less medkit in the game

As far as keys go the counter to them is hard slugging. If no survivor dies the hatch doesn't spawn so leave them on the floor to try and create more pressure that way

It's not pretty or perfect but it is the best non perk related counter we have

Any survivor who brings a key I camp and tunnel out of the match. You wanna end the game early?? Let me help you out.

Them still getting the 4k doesn’t make key switching last second okay. It’s still really toxic that prevents the killer from being able to adjust their build.

Just do what I do, click ready up once you get in a lobby and don't look at the screen (tab out if on PC for example) until you hear the start-of-match-spin whoooom noise. If you never see the switch, did it really happen in the first place? 🙂

Eh, if they last second switch to some stupid trash, like one i had recently that swapped to 3 flashlight wielding Meg's, I just walk over to the nearest exit gate and stand there facing the switch. If they manage to somehow interact with me, I'll find the nearest corner and stand there. Once the gens are done, I hit the exit gate switch and go find a corner to wait out EGC.

If you want to do trash things, I'll play like a trash Killer. Hopefully they depip, since they spend at least 3-4 minutes trying to get me to interact with them, and by then, most of the gens are done. No one gets over 10k BP, and I imagine their emblems are trash as well. I do get a bit of hate from this, especially since they lose their high end add-ons, but if you're going to be an #########, well I can be one too right?

Not much you can do besides making sure no more than a single generator is lost, or else the hatch will spawn in later down the line.

The guys probably tried to make the damn hatch escape challenges or open the hatch with a key challenge.. those are a pain in the butt. Whenever I try it and put a key early I am met with hard tunnelling, Franklin-builds. And I can’t blame the killer for doing it either, these challenges shouldn’t exist. They only make life miserable for both sides. The last second switch is pretty much the only way it is possible sometimes haha. I actually just moved on without making those challenges, they just Made me rage quit.

This being said, these last second switches really shouldn’t be a thing. Killers are locked from the start, the survivors should be too. At least for the last 15 seconds when you can’t lobby-dodge anymore.

Play exactly the same, since the majority of survivors who do so are normally painfully average
