Would anybody want a Castlevania chapter?
I think a Castlevania chapter would be amazing with the whole vampire theme but I don't know how well it would fit in dbd. It's not really horror and a survivor from the distant past would be weird but they could use a character from the modern/future era but those characters are way more obscure.
Do you think it has a chance of coming/would you even want it at all?

No.
Even though I’m a pretty hardcore Castlevania fan, I feel like that franchise definitely doesn’t fit in DBD at all.

Really? I kind of think the same way for Ash because most of the stuff he appears in is more action/comedy than horror but he still works for dbd. The only thing that would be weird for Castlevania IMO is that Simon or Richter would look really out of place cuz they're from the middle ages.

I watched Netflix' Castlevania. All main heroes and villians are so powerful, they probably won't fit into dbd. They like flying all around and fighting with explodes and extreme speed. I don't see them walking, breaking pallets and hooking survivors.

The number of possible Survivors is pretty small. We would need to aim for a modern age or future Survivor, this leaves us, if we look at the games, with Castlevania Bloodlines, Portrait of Ruin and Aria/Dawn of Sorrow. And neither of the Main Protagonists would be a Belmont.
You may grab Julius from Aria of Sorrow, but he was only a Side Character... Also, regardless of who you pick, the Protagonists always were very powerful, including magic and stuff like that.
So you would most likely really have to go with a Side Character and there would be little to no possibility to iinclude a Belmont. And Castlevania HAS to have a Belmont in my opinion. (You can argue that Julius might work, since he suffers from Amnesia in the game at first, however, he was still aware of his powers)
For Killers, sure, Dracula or any other Antagonist would work. But thats about it. And THEN you have to think about their power, which is a whole different story.
I really like Castlevania, but I dont think it would fit in DBD.

no I just want them to fix old killers

I'd prefer a Survival Horror game like Rule of arose or Haunting Ground or Clocktower. Castlevania is not really survival horror or slasher horror.

Rule of Rose* Don't know why my IPad corrected it.

I think it is weird that they chose his TV show version, but the OG Evil Dead is absolutely horror. That's like the worst one, but still!

Considering the ######### nemesis does and how tonality in this game is with trickster and holiday onsies? Nothing is off the table.

Oh my god now that I saw this I kinda want it imagine if they decide to make the upside down castle a map like it's another indoor map and most likely won't be fun to play on it but imagine a trippy looking map making it into the fog as a realm

did you played resident evil?
0 -
No. All I know Nemesis has a rocket launcher in original and he probably can break walls with his hands. Never knew he also has a tentacle.
0 -
He got muuuuch more and also Leon and Jill could easiely deal with Castlevania villains too.
1 -
There's a difference between nemesis and the belmonts who can conjure a blackhole flaming holy cross that drags in all evil...
I wish i was making that up.

I mean Simon obviously wouldn't have his whip/items. He's buff yeah but he's still a normal human at the end of the day.

The main issue is the guy I am refering too is one of the ONLY VALID SURVIVORS!
The developers have rules for survivors being able to logically repair generators...Which sadly most of the Castlevania cast can't do but the guy I referenced and a select few others of equal ridiculousness.
1 -
Theres still ways to do it. They could use weaker characters or the entity could take their power or something like that.
0 -
Well that's still not a great argument IMO because how would Laurie, Quentin, and Steve/Nancy or any other teenager suddenly know how to repair a generator? Well the lore answer is that they probably just learned over hundreds of trials of repairing gens. But the real answer is that it's just a video game and ofc teenagers couldn't repair a generator without years of training.
The same could go for somebody like Simon, he could learn how to do it.

Yes. Clocktower
2 -
Could they deal with Castlevania villains with the tools they have in DBD, though?
1 -
Nemesis could walk through brick walls like it was nothing and pull out a rocket launcher. What did Dracula do in the first game? Shoot some fireballs?
0 -
From what I am reading, he also teleports and can also transform into a giant bat-like monster when defeated.
0 -
Nurse can teleport and hell yeah a bat ability would be cool af.
0 -
My point is that I think Castlevania villains are a bit too strong for this game power-wise.
1 -
Yeah and I was saying that everything Dracula does is well within reason. Freddy can teleport to any generator he wants and Spirit can phase. Dracula was taken down by a normal guy with a whip anyway, he doesn't seem too overpowered when Nemesis exists.

Love the games but don't really want it in dbd.
Neutral.

Maybe individually, but all the powers together? Nah. And that's just the first Castlevania game.
1 -
No but the same could be said about some characters in Castlevania. Of course the entity would take away their weapons and abilitys as well.

Yeeees!

We didn't get vampire Mommy in the RE chapter, I would hold out hope for vampire tall sword lesbian.

I would want and love a Castlevania chapter, I just don't know if it would work. Also, knowing it's from Konami means there's around a 100% chance the characters will only get linked sets from the store (and if there's anything I should've made clear now, it's that I despise linked sets).
But in the end, Castlevania is a really cool flipping license, sure to bring cool content, so if they can make it work and fit well in DBD I'd be happy with it.

meanwhile we have Susie and Julie who can smash walls with their tiny little legs, Bill+Leon+Ash can't kick their ass, and Nemesis gets stunned by a block of wood.
The Entity adjusts power levels in the trials, so power level is really irrelevant.
