had to play R.P.D map and ######### this map
horrible, trash, waste of time, waste of money, waste of work, waste of everything, worst map in dbd in every single way, ######### this map

how many times have you played on it?

Me hoping my game crashes so I don’t have to play it

I liked the map :(

Yeah, RPD's layout absolutely sucks. Its visuals are decent, but the layout is terrible.

3 times in ptb once in live, more than enough to know this map is trash, it's not a dbd map in any way, finding a gen can take you a minute, finding a totem good luck with that, finding the right way to get to the hooked survivor can cost you a hook stage, awful map.

Me too and i still do 😥

Yeah, fk that map. I can't stand it as killer. Add in the nice console frame drops and it may just be literal hell.
16 -
The map is just too big and gives the player no sense of direction. You can literally get lost, the killer gets more time from survivors looking for a generator than the survivors actually doing the generator.
I wished the map was different, maybe The Hive would've been a better choice.

No, they just needed to add more landmarks, breakable walls, pallets and vaults. Survivors defenses are #########, that's the actual main problem.
Finding gens... honestly, isn't that what people complained about on every single map?

The attention to detail is amazing, but it makes for a very poor multiplayer map. The reason the Resident Evil 2 map is so big is because it gave you plenty of room to run away from Mr X. But in a 4v1 game it just doesn't work.
2 -
Nope, most maps you can look for the flashy lights that can be seen from a distance. Indoor maps don't have this, and have an alternative way for locating generators, but I have yet to find something for RPD. Even if you find a generator, the moment you complete it or have to leave it, you're probably not going to find it again unless you played Resident Evil 2 Remake.

Oh come on. Just practice and spend time learning how the map works. You're being dramatic, it's as confusing as Hawkins.

Every time I've loaded into this map as killer and vowed to play legitimately, I ended up giving up and just farming/exploring because either I got completely destroyed, or more often, the survivors got completely destroyed and it turned into a pity game (often because of disconnects or not being able to find hexes and generators.)
I've gotten it even less as survivor, and so far every killer except one has facecamped on it. Which I almost can't blame them for, because finding a survivor in this labyrinth without a detection perk or power is total hell. Trapper does horrifyingly well here, though. Can't avoid the traps, halls are too narrow. (The Trapper I faced was the one who didn't facecamp, because... no need to when you can just cut off every doorway.)

Yeah I thought map was going to be survivor sided, but after playing it a bunch of times has showed me it's more killer sided. Because you can hook someone across the map and the survivors would have a hard time finding someone. And the totems by far the hardest map to locate any. And it's pretty easy for the killer to lockdown one side of the map since he can stand in the stairway and see if anyone passes.

IDK how many games i've played so far, but have not gotten it once.

I got back to back RPD today...that was a nightmare lol. My Leatherface got carried by Ruin being hidden all game.

i played it for the first time right now and it was the first loss as killer for me since they turned off MMR.
I'm all against bashing the devs for everything but #########? What where they thinking? I was literally running into dead ends multiple times and couldn't find a way out. I've played the old RE2 many times as a teenager but i couldn't find my way to the gens, while the survivors obviously could. How can anyone think that this is a great map design (from a gameplay standpoint, not visual). Nearly everyone i play with hates Midwich and the feedback for the map on this forum was bad (from a gameplay standpoint), and they just do the same but even worse, at least midwich has some kind of logic and symmetry, this map just feels like a random maze.

Hawkins is way more standard. It has the clean/spore-laden filter to show you which half of the map you're on, and it's basically a couple of square halls around either small or large chambers, all of which are regularly shaped. It's somewhat confusing, but you can pretty much just run through the hallways if you're lost and you'll find gens sitting out in the open. Nearly all of Hawkins' confusion stems from some rooms not having exits on either side and being unable to just run through them, and having to take the long way around them in that case. I don't really know Hawkins' layout besides the upper floor and it doesn't matter; I can find gens, totems, and hooked players just by following the halls blindly, and I can find the big portal chamber by following the spores.
With RCPD, you have to memorize every single part of the map to be able to navigate it properly. This is an issue because the access points between floors are limited and you can waste a hook stage or lose a gen because you spent all of its timer trying to figure out how to get to the point directly above or below you. It's extremely irregular, narrow, and contains several hallway-room chains that just loop back unto themselves instead of intuitively taking you the direction you think you're going.
Like, if you look at Lery's, Lery's is extremely confusing to find gens and identify where specific rooms are, but it's easy to move in a direction because it's laid out like a grid and there's few places that prevent you from moving through them (and moving around is never a significant detour.) Hawkins is somewhere between Lery's and RCPD for directional intuition; RCPD's on the extreme end of not being able to tell how to get somewhere. It doesn't help that RCPD has way more rooms than Hawkins does, and as such, the majority of them won't contain anything of interest and just serve as navigational clutter.

I'm not. I've played it, you can just learn how the map works.

I don't think I'm the only one who's complaining about RPD map.

Visually beautiful map. Layout is awful. It seems like BHVR has given up trying to be original. As soon as i heard they were going to go RPD I thought "Oh, yet another indoor map with narrow hallways."
I hate this map more than any other.

So what? Everyone complains about new stuff. Are you really that unable to respond that you need to use appeal to majority?

I have a harder time finding gens in Lerry’s than this map. It already has plenty of landmarks as is. Granted, I’ve played REmake2. 😅

I can find Gens pretty quickly. Must have something to do with knowing the layout.

This.

I love the map, but it is definitely poorly designed.
The map is far too large, with going from one end to the other taking the same time as Mother's Dwelling, and it's 2 floors. If they split the map into 2 versions with either the East/West side blocked off it would be a huge improvement.
Most of the pallets/windows are either too strong or too weak, with hardly any in between.
However, it's still my favorite map next to Midwich, partly because I know the layout well and my mains are pretty good on both.

Honestly, I feel the same. The hallways have too much distance between loops and pallets. It feels too bad for Survivor in chases. They made it TOO much of a 1:1 scale instead of adding walls and stuff to make loops and adapt the map to DBD.

I actually just faced a 4man Red Ranks SWF Team that ALL knew the map layout perfectly and where all the best loops were... they played EXTREMELY Effective...
To be honest I think the map is really cool looking and I love the feel of it from a visual perspective -
However, PLAYING on it is a total Nightmare.
I actually think it's a better map for Survivors than Killers personally , but I think it's quite horrible for both. It's VERY difficult to find the direction you are trying to go, I suppose once people get more used to it though maybe that will change..

And us RE fans love it.

Holy moly dude, I don't know what you want from me. 😂
I told you RPD is essentially a maze, you can easily get lost and objectives are difficult to find.
Then, you're like... Dude, it's not that bad. And I'm like, it is man, it's pretty sucky.
Then you respond saying, I'm over dramatic. And then I point out that the majority of the community doesn't like that map because it's difficult to maneuver around.
Then you get upset because the majority of the community knows this map is problematic? I mean, if so many people are complaining about it, then I believe there's a problem with the map design. But hey, I guess anyone with that opinion is over dramatic. Furthermore, the map is so big that the developers had to remove it from rotation since it was crashing games. If that doesn't tell you anything about how poor the map is designed, from a gameplay perspective, not design, then it's just best that we move on because nothing else will change your mind. I respect your opinion through, but we're going have to agree to disagree.

Right now of the 3 times I've played, 2 of them have been against wraith and that's been such an unpleasant experience.

My main issue with that map is the rate of disconnection and lag goes up significantly. Also the tight hallways are a hassle regardless of side. Though I'm sure better players than me don't have that problem. Same with the new killer I always seem to get disconnected with him. I think it's related to the blue goop he puts on you.

If the dev's add one more indoor map in a row I'm gonna have a mental breakdown.

I loved RE2-3 remake, loved RE7-village, this maps still sucks for dbd
2 -
It's just too big... it's like the maze from The Maze Runner. Once you find something, you're probably not going to see it again.
1 -
The map is a classic case of the devs asking "can we?" instead of "should we?".
Yes. It's a great replica of RPD. But it's terrible to actually play DbD on. Just because you *can* do something doesn't mean you should.

Got it as survivor for the first time yesterday. A David King died on his second hook because both myself and a Jill couldn't find the basement entrance. I also died on my first hook because of the exact same problem. ######### were they thinking with this map its a travesty
