I think they have to submit patches to Xbox and Sony at least a week before they go live, so that might be some of the delay.

I used to play on PS4 but I switched over to PC. I tried out the PS4 version last week and I really feel for console players, the game is in such a bad state.

I mean, it's awesome that they have fixes in sight, but they extended the event and now the fixes are scheduled for after the extended event concludes? That's pretty depressing.

I think part of the reason is to make sure everyone's clear that there will NOT be a new patch before the event finishes.

It's a step in the right direction until they go 5 steps back with the next mid-chapter update/next chapter.
The compensation is pathetic. 300K BP and 3K Shards is nothing.
Not only that, but they take THIS long with putting out an update that the console players who were having major issues don't even get any fixes until one week after the extension of the event, leaving them missing out on a lot.

I'm not playing on console, I don't know how bad the issue is for you, guys... But I wish the update will truly fix the performance!

I really really hope they didn't just fix the stutters because if a SSD fixes everything, surely the hdd has always been the bottle neck, if anything the stutters were more like the final form of an evolving problem over the course of two years, fingers crossed bois.

300k bp isn't much for how bad it has been on console, tons of people stopped playing due to it. They missed out on so much bp from the event it's not really a sorry... guess its lucky for pc, players who get the free rewards without the huge issues lol

You know,we already had to deal with absolutely terrible performance (so bad that it's pretty much unplayable/gamebreaking) for 4 whole weeks and now we have to wait another 2 weeks to potentially get a fix for this crap.
It's not a step in the right direction,because this update should have never been released in the first place.
The Resident Evil Update is just another big muddle finger to the majority of the playerbase and just shows how little this company cares about its playerbase.
Also,them extending the event and rift by a week just shows how ignorant they are.Like what does this for us if the game is still unplayable?
The compensation just adds to the insult.
It's basically a "Hey guys,we know performance is still bad and all but maybe some free points and shards can shut you up :) "

If anything they now at least should be fully aware of what is causing the issues and even if this is a band aid fix for the worse of stutters, moving forwards I hope it points them in the right direction.

I'm sure BHVR have seen the amount of console players who have quit over the past 2 months due to poor performance amongst their "stats". I hope this is a wake up call for them to improve performance across all platforms.

Hope is works out but one thing I have learned about this game....Believe it when I see it. I miss playing killer as I have only been playing survivor here and there because of performance and it's lead me to other games.

They're being open and honest about expectations and timelines. I think its a smart move on BHVR management tbh.

I'm on ps4 pro and I've really been enjoying the event so far.
I've gotten better with blocking/parrying. I threw a spear into some guy's eye.
I got the 100 kills achievement with polearm class (hoping to do knight/archer next). I'm still aspiring to set another soldier on fire.
The "get kills with a loaf of bread" achievement seems pretty daunting tho, i must admit! I suspect I'll have ample time to try!

This game has been broken on consoles for as long as I've played this game(the newest killer when I joined was Twins) and then All Kill broke the game even further...until they slightly fixed it...until they broke it again..and then they slightly fixed it...and then they released RE and broke it 50x worse than ever before.
Being heard doesn't mean jack diddly squat. Console optimization was promised in what, 2019? That was before my time. BHVR can "hear" whatever they want, but I'm not gonna let up just because they're "aware".

Hopefully this is the end of the issues that plague last gen consoles.
Also that’s actually a good bonus if you use the Shrine for points. Since the perks are on sale now, you’ll have enough to buy two perks and get 300k BP from them. You’re already getting 300k BP from the log in bonus, so you can end up with a total of 600k BP.

There is nothing else to do except continue to not play until then. I would probably play if the last "fix" didn't destroy the game even more.
At least they gave us the date. Better than nothing. But idc about bp and shards until I am able to play the game again. Just like idc about extended event.

Me too. By fixed I am hoping it isn't just back to the state of things before the RE chapter wreaked us. I hope it is a better game performance than we've been struggling with for years.
Also I hope this"fix" doesn't cause a reappearance of the insta-overheat problem that past patches have twice now given me and my poor tired Xbox..

Lovely, so last gen console players won't be able to get as much bloodpoints out of this event? I can get 300k bloodpoints in 2 games in this event, 300k is nothing.

and how many people have given up on the game and or have decided to never spend a dime because of the performance? giving money away is a valid damage control strategy even if it's a crass method.
I don't really have a horse in that particular race though.

So by the time the problems get "fixed" (I'm skeptical) the event will be over. And the game has been borderline unplayable on console through the entire event. Fantastic.
