This games player base is unusually toxic sure but they can be way too sensitive as well.
Watch this video and read the comments. The guy was just having some goofy fun and people cried about it.

I don't need to watch a video to know this. You're better off posting a summary or directly embedding the video if you want commentary.
On sensitivity... people tend to assume the other side is doing things specifically to spite them, and then get angry about imagined offenses. If the killer is wandering around your hook for a bit to check out scratch marks/look for potential nearby survivors/break a pallet, they're camping. If the killer comes back to the hook, they're tunneling, even if they go after the unhooker. If a survivor loops you or uses a flashlight on you, they're bullying. If a survivor waits in the gate because there are other unaccounted-for survivors and they don't want to leave until they know everyone is safe, they're BMing. Things like that.

I can understand why survivors just see this as good fun but imagine it from the killer's point of view. How frustrated must they be? They got hit by head on, are just tryna get the grab, and are constantly getting loud noise notifications.

Doing something super annoying at the killer annoyed the killer!?!?!

It's easier to blame someone else for not enjoying the fact that they're the butt of the joke than to face the fact that maybe the "joke" is just an excuse to mock someone.
