Just going to start using Spirit and nurse.
I don't know why I even try any other killer in red ranks besides spirit and nurse. It's not fun just being endlessly looped all game. I am starting to see why killers hate the loop to loop game. I see why people play nurse and spirit. Though I find both of these killers hard to learn so I will take the time to do so. Spirit and nurse is the anti loop killer.

Okay! Good luck with that!

Spirit is not anti loop killer. She is strong because survivors are clueless againts her. And actually i won so much againts Spirit. Nurse is better option.

You don’t need the top killers to win. Or gen regression perks. I would suggest a killer player struggling in red ranks figure out the holes in their game.
The idea of only playing two out of twenty four killers sounds miserable to me.

On one hand, I have nothing but respect for people who have the patience and focus to master something.
On the other, people who make posts like these rarely possess those qualities, so I've my doubts here, Chief.

If you can’t counter looping then go ahead
5 -
Thank you :)

No I mean I'm being more salty than anything else. I guess I just can't seem to counter really good loopers. I made it to rank 1 as freddy last season and maintained it for a good week. But there are just games where I would've been better off standing in a corner while survivors do gens.

Any tips?
0 -
That's basically what I am saying. I feel like I have to use them.

Nurse is more fun if you're a masochist.
Anyway, might I ask you how many hours do you have playing killer? I'd genuinely like to help.
Post edited by Bwsted on4 -
Depends on who you play since each killer deals with it differently. As for general tips forcing pallet drops early is the most important thing imo. Sure you may not get a hit but you’re creating a dead zone for later.
Don’t forget basic moonwalking and Double backing (Don’t do it too much though since you’ll just waste time)
2 -
Ya I do try this sometimes. Maybe I am W to much as killer.
1 -
Hmm. I would say I have 300 hours in this game in total. How do I see my hours in killers? I would imagine at least 50% of my hours into killer. I play survivors a good amount
0 -
There's no separate hour count. A guesstimate is totally fine.
In terms of playtime, you're still green, which is good because when you fall short is simply because of lack of experience, of which one can always accumulate more.
In general, about 500h in each role is when someone starts to get comfortable and 1k is pushing into got gud territory, imho.
Many of the issues you're encountering now are linked to the fact that you're probably playing with incomplete builds and that rankings rushed you upward too fast, because that's how it works.
I'll give the advice that I always do. Watch a tutorial on how to run common tiles. Then pick a simple m1 killer (Legion is great for this) and get sound fundamentals in pathing and decision-making. Keep your mindgames simple and don't spam them. Stick to the rule of thumb: if you don't get a pallet or a hit before bloodlust 1, you did something wrong and consider abandoning the chase. Review interesting spots and what you did weĺl/wrong/coulda done better.
For the rest, it's practice. You can play any killer in red ranks. Some are more build dependant than others. Don't expect to 4k every trial against good survivors. The game would be broken if that were the case.
4 -
Aside from Nurse, Spirit, and Blight, the game largely comes down to how well the survivors play.
5 -
Bad advice, but just play the game some more. I have around 2500 hours and rarely if ever fail to 3-4k with any killer. Its all about getting those hours of dedicated practice and experience in, giving up and becoming a slave to the meta will only infuriate you further with each mounting failure. One day you may shout "How could i possibly lose with spirit!?" at your monitor in a fit of blind rage, never realizing you failed to grow as a killer by refusing to face loss. Don't let your anger control you, its just a game. Have fun and the experience will come naturally.

If you can't counter looping, play Legion broseph/brosephine. They were my training weights for when I played a killer who had a killer power
1 -
DO IT
1 -
It's your best decision. And to be honest, Nurse and Spirit are the only killers who depend solely on your skill and not on the mistakes of others. You are your limit.
1 -
So you admit you’re bad? Why are you playing in red rank then?
1 -
If you hate the loop to loop games then why not basement builds on good basement killers?
0 -
Because getting to red rank is the easiest thing ever in this game.
It's just a matter of time rather than a matter of skill
6 -
Oh god, people with your mindset are just the most boring killers to face in this game
1 -
WAIT!... WAIT! WHERE IS THE "HOLD SHIF+W" crowd at?
See my point being if survivors are good looper you got people who complain about that. Me I rather deal with people who don't know how to loop and run instead.
But to your point, if all you care about is getting 4 sacrifices at the end of the match, then yeah go for it. Learn nurse and spirit. Since godlike nurses pretty much rarely ever lose public matches. Unless they get in indoor map like larry. But I have won in red ranks with different killers. I won with most killers in red rank, however I will say it takes a lot of practice to get to know how to play the tiles. It just takes experience, once you learn how to play the tiles then you should have an easier time. Legion can get you into pretty good habits of learning how to play tiles. And some matches honestly it's best to accept that you will lose, meaning don't always expect to get a 4 sacrifices. And with some games it's probably best to leave the good loopers and find another person in hope that they are not decent loopers. And realistically with some killers in red ranks you will have much harder time, mainly the weaker killers.

Getting to red rank killer is the easiest thing in the game. Now getting to red rank solo survivor is much harder.
4 -
If you play Solo Queue, then yes
2 -
Ironically I always get up to rank 1 in killer, despite me not wanting to be in rank 1. I don't even try it's easy. Now solo survivor takes more time because you have to depend on other random people.

Sometimes you have to try really hard to get out of red. At first you might use int/troll/meme builds but then you somehow will climb back to red anyway. This is where afk wraiths are born. But you don't wanna do that, so you end up playing MatchBox Nurse M1 only or Tickle Saw.
1 -
You can't. It has no counterplay. Survivors made sure of that.
2 -
So when people talk about tiles what are the referring to?
0 -
I tried Blight once. How in the hell do you control a pinball lol?
0 -
That's actually really good advice.
1 -
Maps are divided in smaller squares. Every square is referred to as a tile.
Some of those tiles are templates that can spawn on different maps. Stuff like TL walls, jungle gyms, shack. Survivors want to run them a certain way and, naturally, killers need to deny that by running them differently.
You can google 'how to run common tiles/loops as killer'. Off the top of my head, Scott Jund, OhTofu, PainReliever and Raging Ryuga all have made guides about this.

This is great advice I will try this. Because the killer I really wanted to be my main was the Pig but I found her too underpowered.
0 -
If you're gonna play Pig, make sure to check Scorpionz guide.
0 -
Enjoy your basically single player game.
0 -
Well you play your virgin spirit build and I'll stick with my chad oni.
2 -
I mean, why shouldn't survivors loop? It's how we win. Should we just run straight, never look back, and die? If you want to learn Spirit and Nurse, go for it. No salt here. I just don't understand being frustrated that good survivors are good at the game.
1 -
My advice... avoid Red Ranks, Seriously.
I used to play a lot and, I would inevitably rank to Red. Felt like I needed to rely on Meta perks and sucked the fun out of the game. I de-pipped back to Greens and I'm having a much better time playing risky builds and fun stuff.
0 -
red ranks are the least stressful rank in the history of online video games. it's on YOU, not the players my dude.
1 -
Well if you main them it's not like you'll automatically win more. Even good nurses and spirits (mostly nurses) have to try very hard to win even after playing for a long time.
1 -
It is better to just play who you like at a lower rank. If you want to play Nurse and Spirit, by all means. But if you just want to use them because they are meta, I feel like you should take a step back and really ask yourself "why do I want this?" This game really isn't competitive enough for anyone to be concerned at all about rank, if you ask me. But you do you, homie. It might be more fun to just use those killers after all!
1 -
I'm not saying survivors shouldn't loop. I just don't have fun being looped for 5 gens. But who would?
0 -
So I should De-rank?
0 -
Ya it's actually interesting you bring that up because I just read an article about speed runners who play dark souls. That is a series of games I love. And the writer of the article basically said that speed runners are not playing the game correctly. I mean I'm butchering his poetic article by simplifying but he noted that all the lore and detail into the game is just being ignored and that's no way to play a game. And I'm thinking to myself... That is a game I absolutely enjoyed every moment of. How could anyone just want to "speed run it" And not enjoy it's wealth of content? And I just had an epiphany about this game. I have been so focused on just unlocking everything and doing what's meta I lost sight that just playing this game and in it's environment is fun on it's own. I think a lot can be said about that way of thinking. There's nothing wrong with wanting to do what's meta or speed runs. But there's also nothing wrong with playing for fun. And I think I lost that along the way years ago.. So I am going to just play what I like and what is fun :) Thanks ThiccBudhha.

Yeah, it's sometimes not fun when others are better than you are in a multiplayer game.
