If the devs fix this game, with the current balance it's in a good state.
This is hypothetical and hoping the devs actually fix this game like they said last time. But, if they do. The game's balance is in a good state and the grind is the only core issue needing improvements again.

Just cause it's balanced doesn't necessarily mean it's good. Wraith is a pretty well-balanced killer but everybody hates him because his counter is pallet camping. And I still haven't gotten my goddamn BBQ on Nemesis because the Devs refuse to feed needy and bloodpoint-starved little orphans like me.

I agree that the balance is in a relatively good spot, but you know, there is absolutely room for improvement. I would love them to improve basic killers a tiny bit. Pig, mostly is what I had in mind. Nothing too crazy. Just increase the traps by one (which would scale better with the add on) or make it so the first box is never a key and voila, no longer trash. I just don't understand how people are okay with her power being that worthless. I guess because she has ambush? Idk.

Honestly if they do what anni has been doing and make it so you earn like 100k BP or 80k BP per match that would fix SOOOOOOOOOO MUCH. Who would've thought that the game feels fun when I can finish a web or two with just one game and feel like I'm making actual progress instead of slogging along getting 20k a game as surv. The fact that BP grind is such a massive issue with such an easy fix that makes the game FUN and they refuse to address it is laughable.
