Eruption is one my new favorite perks.
If this had suffered the severe limitations of Surge. M1 requirement, cooldown, range. I wouldn't have used this perk. But, currently with 30 second cooldown, no range limit, or M1 requirement. This perk is awesome especially good with PGTW. But, sadly I've only seen it on me and a few others. Any one else using this perk a lot?

I'm using it. It's a great perk on 115% killers. I tried using in it with huntress, and the trickster but it did not work as good as I hoped. But with 115% killer it's great. I combined it with pop, and oppression. But on with basic M1 killers I replaced oppression with surge as OP said. And it's a great alternative to ruin and undying, since you don't have to worry about survivors destroying the perk. Use it on gens nearby so it could be easier to kick and for surge to do damage. You don't even really need to have a third perk, you can make it work with pop and thus this being a good alternative to the ruin meta.

Honestly I see its potential, but still haven't used it myself.

I love it. Makes kicking random gens feel much, much more worthwhile.

Use myers with surge, eruption, pop and STBFL, quite the effective build

I still need to start experimenting with this perk and the various combos... I reakky need to get on that. 🙂

It's not good. Chases are more important than kicking gens, so even with PGTW you're not getting much value. It's just 6%. And that's assuming it wasn't finished before you got a down.
At least Surge is completely passive. Eruption feels like a consolation prize for making the bad play.

I wish this perk stacked with Surge, that would make it actually really nice.

Hiya, Eruption works really well with PGTW since if a survivor was working on a generator you kicked — they will become incapacitated soon after you down a survivor. This gives you enough time to reach the generator to and make it lose 25% of its progress, plus the progress lost from Eruption. Pretty good perk duo if you tell me, and definitely a good alternative to Ruin. 😁

I think its nice like that but i feel as I would much rather oppression and surge is probably just better.
Oppression has a much larger cooldown but it only requires 1 generator kick, itd be dope to trigger eruption on 3 generators instead but then again you did just waste the time of kicking 3 generators instead of 1, which is a big difference.
Surge's m1, cooldown and range limit suck, yeah, but the huge gap from eruption that makes it just better is you down someone -> instant regression, while eruption is you kick the generator -> down someone -> instant regression.
I think with PGTW eruption would be really good since you would kick the generator anyway before the chase but i feel as taking eruption alone as a gen regression perk isnt enough, but i feel like surge as a solo gen regression perk or even oppression can get the job done better.

I don't see the point, unless you have it on Wraith with his kick addons. Kicking multiple gens, even with pop, to get any real benefit out of Eruption is just so time consuming.

It's not really about the 6% but about the information and delay it provides with the scream and the incapacitated effect.
Under normal circumstances 16 seconds not able to work on a gen is 20% of the gen lost and in that time has regressed for another 5%.
So with one survivor it's actually 31% slowdown and you know what gen they were working on if all cards fall right.
It bassicly allows you to hook without having to worry about the affected gen to be completed.
Is that worth not chasing and kicking random gens? Idk. I think it's decent in 3 gen situations where you are able to play a little more defence.
I wouldn't go nuts and go on a kicking spree while still at 5 gens though

I never really get people on the exploding gens. It happens maybe once a trial, and that's if I'm lucky.

True, swf can say when they are about to go down and solo's don't do gens half the time lol.
Still though it is pretty massive when it happens and knowing they aren't on a specific gen has value too

its a c tier regression perk, you have to kick too many gens for it to be worth the minimal slowdown you get. its simply not worth it when you have things like ruin or pop, you end up wasting more time than you save by having to go kick a bunch of gens

Surge has too many limits for me.

The only real limitation is the m1 condition. Something that a lot of killers don't have to care about despite ma y of them clearly getting hits while under the effects of their power.

I've used it a bunch on Nemesis as I unlocked perks but ultimately it just doesn't seem all that good...
I'm either steamrolling the survivors (in which case I don't need it cause I'm already steamrolling the survivors) or the chases take too long and gems are popped before I take anyone down (rendering it useless).
Like many of the lower tier perks, there are situations where it'll save the game for me but those are few and far between and not worth the perk spot for.

I have 2 problems with it
First, if a survivor is scared off of the gen it will not regress.
Second, kicks during cooldown don't affect the perk

Well, I'm one of the last Hillbilly gamers an plan to main Nemesis when the game works on console. But, I only use Surge on Hag it can use some improvements.

I found thirty seconds short enough

Yep, it's become a staple of my gen slowdown builds along with Oppression. It's even better because this method of gen slowdown is not vulnerable to a Survivor running anti-totem perks or just being unlucky and having the totem spawn right by a survivor.

used it a few times but I don't really like kicking gens too much so I didn't really like it

Eruption is a freaking headache to play against as Survivor.
Eruption + Surge + Oppression + PGTW makes me want to just DC.

I have not seen people use the perk, I only seen it like 3 or 4 times. I would rather deal with people using those perk honestly, than the ruin/undying with pop. Because at least the killers has to work to get the regression to activate. And what I seen what I'm going assume is SWF, since they seem to know when a survivor is going to down across the map. Without using empathy. But what they do is probably do is tell their friends I'm about to go down get off the gen. That is a way you can work around it. But I rather have that than ruin/undying in a map like larry without detective hunch it can be pretty hard to find totems.
