Note this isn't a heated argument it's just a perspective. This is just my personal opinion.

After getting Red Rank 1 I decided I'm not gonna be a try hard anymore. Trying to be the highest rank taught me that's it's not all it's cracked up to be. I just want to play for fun and enjoy it. If all survivors escape? Don't care I enjoyed the chases and the gameplay. If I don't escape as a survivor? That's okay did I have fun playing? That's all that matters.

If doing what is fun this game might not be for you. This game can be competitive but it's an Asymmetrical game. It'll never be an E Sports game and that's okay. I would never want to see it be an E Sports game. Games like this aren't balanced enough anyway. And that's okay! Granted this is my opinion and what I have learned playing this game.

    Exactly my mindset. This game cannot be taken competitively imo

    I learned to never take this game seriously a long time ago.

    Dumb Solo Queue teammates still tend to make me a "bit" tilted though,

    Cool mindset bro.

    My definition of fun is to have fun.. no matter how it goes, but when you run into slugging and camping Twins, Stridor Spirits and Deathslingers non stop, it is hard to not uninstall it right away and leave it for another 6 months.

    This game is a mess. The Developers apparently dont understand it at all. Imagine having a community complaining about slugging and camping for the past 5 years and then they release a killer, who does only that (Twins).

    Fair point, however fun is subjective. Your definition will not fit everyone else’s and that’s just the way it is.

    Understand that everyone enjoys a game differently. What you consider fun, isn't fun to someone else. And saying 'if your definition of fun is winning and bringing meta builds, this game isn't for you' is your opinion. But you don't get to tell people how to enjoy the game. Grats, you realized you don't like tryharding. Others do. Subjective.

    Eh. I somewhat agree with you, and I agree with the message you're sending, but at the same time... I'm someone who doesn't care about getting kills or escaping, but I'm still not going to have fun if the survivors slam out 5 gens in 4 minutes or spend the whole game taunting me and trying their damnedest to prevent me from doing anything, and I'm not going to have fun if the killer proxy camps and tunnels me to death or slaps me on a basement hook and spends the next two minutes nodding at me. Your mindset is important, but some elements of fun in a multiplayer game still rest on the other players' shoulders.

    I got super mad yesterday, was it the survivors? Nah. Map? Nah.

    It was my brand new controller acting up out of no where. That's the time I've been so mad for a awhile in dbd, just that. It was 60 dollars.. ;~;

    Glad you saw the light. I think that expecting to get 4 sacrifices, or expecting to escape EVERY SINGLE game is just not fun. Because realistically everyone loses once in a while. I used to think like that, but I realized it's not even fun with that mindset if anything it creates stress in my opinion. And thankfully I changed my expectations as well a long time ago, and have fun in different ways.

    The things that make the game unfun for me are the players that just want to rush through their objective, killer and survivor, that being said when the game is dragged out just for the sake of dragging it out is tedious and feels like the players are just rubbing it in your face that they could end the match but won't. Also when I have "escape" challenges in the tome.... They take so many matches because of the specific conditions and when I spend 8 matches trying to escape through hatch with a map and get close 5 times but the killer closes it in my face or my teammates won't leave preventing me from doing it I'm gonna get tilted and annoyed and every other synonym for pissed off about not being able to make progress on that damn challenge

    Honestly I just wanna get good plays. I don't care if I win or not, but getting plays like these are far FAR more satisfying than getting 4ks every game.

    However if I am in need of quick bloodpoints to level up a character for a specific perk, I am going to pull out the usual meta builds to be able to maximize the amount of points I need. Especially during the event.

    I feel the same way. This game actually requires you to define your own enjoyment from it. Is it playing friendly killer, sweating for the 4K, SWF or being immersive? Doesn’t matter to anyone but you, but like you said, it’s inherently asymmetrical, you aren’t meant to escape or kill everyone all the time.

    Beyond the game objectives, you’re just dealing with people on the internet, so I just apply my mindset towards trolling an bs that I have in every online game. Move on and let it go, people can suck, but I’m done letting that ruin my whole day, personally.
