In the majority casual play of this game both sides have an equal chance to win.
Yes, against SWF it's in the favor of survivor but their less common. In the early ranks it's in the favor of the killer but that 's largely gone once you hit Greens. Then at that point both sides have an equal amount of resources and strategies for a fair win. Minus the rare God Nurse with double recharge and Infectious fright, God Spirit with MDR, duration, and Stridor(5.0.2), or depip squad. But, people often act like those are the majority when they are so rare. While those can be issues they don't represent the overall game.

Half the problem is current rank reset, if you want to play casual you slowly get up into sweat ranks and can never get back down unless you can let awful matches slide and manually depip. Instead you get stuck in red ranks where other players almost force you to sweat and try hard. If reset threw everyone back down 10 ranks like when I started you could play more casually and remain in the casual/chill ranks and let the try hards fight their way back up to red

I’d like this, actually. The only reason ranks matter at all in this game is for matchmaking and I guess achievements? Either ditch it or make it less conventional ladder-style in my opinion.

If you play the game the way it was intended, it's balanced. Once you git gud and play to win, it's broken.
