The Mentality behind Disconnects is Staggering
People leaving as they are in the sacrifice animation is one of the big ones, like you are already dead. You have just made yourself guarantee a lost pip AND no BP from this match.
Others include- killer I don't like so I quit, map I don't like so I quit, team mates are not as good as I want them to be so I quit. Sounds like just a load of babies not getting their candy if you ask me.
But the largest and most disappointing one is people defending DC's, you are leaving 4 people to have a worse experience of a match (especially your team mates which you left with zero care other than yourself), because you didn't get cheery picked by the match making to the exact game you wanted.
Go play a single player if you want bots to do everything perfectly for you if your that inclined to show everyone your clear entitlement.

Entitled players, this game is filled with them. I just hope they match dcer with other dcers in the future.

What's even worst is the fact that no one seems to be doing much about it. New animations, skin reworks, fancy new perks, that's all good, but will we ever address the things we've been talking about and complaining from ages?
I report players when they DC at the start of the match or on the first hook, but I honestly doubt those reports are taken seriously. I hope I'm wrong and they do, but with the number of people complaining over and over again about this....

The best part is when they call everyone else entitled for expecting them to stay in a match and not break the rules. The hypocrisy is staggering.
I wish they'd mess with matchmaking so that players with high disconnect rates in recent history would get paired with other players with high disconnect rates. Might change their tune once they get to experience a nonstop stream of games that were going just fine for them, but someone else got mad they were the first one found or the killer didn't fall for a CJ tech or thinks Doctor is unfair and shouldn't exist so always DCs when they hear his terror radius. Meanwhile, the rest of us could actually play the game and not waste our offerings in unbalanced matches that last 3 minutes.

I mean, i dont exactly feel motivated to continue playing if my teammates dont repairs gens and are constantly getting downed/hooked by the killer.
Theres been games where i have repaired 3 gens on my own, while my teammates were dealing with their mess.
Just saying, when your teammates are total garbage on a game where you have to depend on them, well you cant really do much about it.
Also regarding quitting cause killer/map, can you really blame them? some of them are so BS its downright horrible, and this is gonna happen a lot with PTB Trickster, and then theres Haddonfield which ive seen killers preferring to afk the match
So yeah while some DC are pretty childish, gotta take in mind that sometimes it can be really frustating to play due to either incompetent teammates, toxic players or terrible game design.
Just look at R.P.D that map is HELL.

Its because they don't want to give the killer the satisfaction. It's kinda like a "haha you didn't actually kill me, I left on my own terms" I've tried to explain to people the killer probably finds it funny, but it's whatever.
2 -
They probably don't do anything individually, but my hope is that they get looked at when a player accumulates tons of them. If I can add one stone to the pile that'll eventually sink these brats, I will gladly do so.
As for the number of people complaining about it, that's just a sheer volume problem. Knock out a hundred serial disconnectors and there's still ten thousand more to go.

It definitely doesn’t hurt the killer. It just ######### the other survivors.

That would kill the queue times let's be honest here. Considering this community too many people would be in the quitters queue.

Oh, I agree, it's just wishful cathartic thinking. On the other hand... while I wouldn't feel this way if the DC penalty were up, with the current epidemic, I think I'd choose quality over quantity at this point.
The killer actually gets more bloodpoints and emblem points if you quit while in the process of dying. I once got an adept because someone DCed on death hook. Another player got hatch, but I got 40 Devout instead of 20 because I got 20 points for sacrificing that survivor and another 20 points for them disconnecting. Thanks, Elodie! You were a real pal.

If I solo'd 3 gens I seriously hope my team mates are tangling with the killer because if they pop 2 gens in the same time and the games over I'll be lucky to even safety pip on a capped out objective and nothing else. There's more to a match than just holding m1 and is not a reason to DC, if you're team mates are trash them it's easier to farm them for emblems.

There isn't really much of a difference than just suiciding on hook which, I won't lie, I will do if I want out of a game for whatever reason. The big difference is I get to keep my BP and experience. But I still "ruined" the game for others. When I am leaving, game was already ruined for me. So I could care less to be honest.

I just attribute it to SDE mainly.

Just implement MMR. Then the DC/ suicides will be matched with one another and those who play the game properly will be matched with each other.
The last MMR test was the best solo queue games I've had in 2 years.

I don't know why people are still bothering to make posts complaining about DCs when it's temporary.

Meanwhile, I specifically asked for DC penalties to be turned off because of server issues.
Others seem to be having a ball with this lifted penalty.
This is why we can't have nice things :l

By that same logic OP is acting entitled as well.
Killers arnt responsible for survivor fun.
Survivors arnt responsible for fun either.
That whole "but the team" argument is so fake and two-faced, it's rediculous

I just hope that anyone with this mentality NEVER expects ANYTHING from ANYONE else in this game and don't dare to complain, when they themselves have the obvious tendency to leave on a subjective whim. Neither when other survivor DC because the game was "ruined" for them nor killer doing the same.
Damn I hate this mentality of "I don't have fun so let's make it the same for everybody else. I (am the only one that) payed for this game so i have special privileges and even more so when I invested more money in skins".
This is a fricking multiplayer game. If your own fun is the most important thing then go play a solo player game.

Because temporary things from behaviour have a very vague definition of "temporary", given some of the long-lived bugs and problems in this game.

I feel like since the penalization was termporarly disabled the survivors started to DC massively, even way more than before the penalization system was implemented. Survivor are disconnecting a lot due a stupid reasons, I feel like the people are DCing massively just because "we are in a free buffet of DC, we need to DC due ridiculous reasons until the penalization system is re-enabled".
- Being first down of your team: DC.
- Down by a false hit through a window/pallet: DC.
- First teammate downed within the first 30 seconds of the match, garbage teammates: DC.
- Dead Hard against a wall which result in a down: DC.
- Gen grab: DC.
- 50 more ridiculous reasons: DC.

I'm not defending D/cing but let me put it in another way:
Killer mains (especially red rank killers) hold the mentality that they can tunnel, camp, slug and just pull every scummy move to win the match, because they do not care about the survivor's fun. They want to win. And they'll do whatever it takes to ensure the win.
Survivor mains in red ranks, at least the tryhards, will gen rush and hold the mentality that if a killer can't spread pressure around the map, its their fault and they deserve to lose. These survivors want to get out/win. They don't care about your fun just like a tryhard killer doesn't care about a survivor's.
Now apply that mentality to D/cing and it makes a lot of sense why people do it.
Yes it sucks, but its going to keep happening. And truthfully, a grand majority DO NOT CARE about the other team's enjoyment. This is a PvP multiplayer game. You can't expect people to stick around when THEY are not having fun, but for some reason there's this mentality that even if you're having the worst time in your match, you're somehow obligated to stick it out for your team/the match's health.
Its so backwards. You can't have it both ways.

It's the equivalent of a kid throwing their toys out of the pram because they didn't get what they want.
I understand why the penalties were disabled, because of the instability, but if the new patch fixes this I do hope they bring them back.

I just Dc personally on 2 big things.
Killers: RPD Police department. This map is literally the worst map in Dbd, it offers no fun gameplay for the Killer except Stealth Killers. Every other Killer with a fun power cant use it there. I refuse to play a game where I cant use the ability of the game that offers me. Also this map is just increadable big which makes it impossible to navigate properly, to protect the gens, you most likely have to just let them go which is very unfun and boring.
Survivor: A Killer with a very bad connection that is lagging and with very weird hitboxes.
Both of these things dont happen so often, I maybe get both of these situations maybe once a day. For me ppl who are able to play with these circumstances are increadable to endure that kind of agony, I cant understand how though, I personally play a game to have fun so thats why I dont waste my time with unfun or frustrating things. Very simple concept.
However I agree that ppl who dc on literally small things like a killer they dislike, a perk they dislike ( I had once a swf that dcd on my oni cuz I used Infectious fright) or a different map other then RPD.

The only time I DC is when I've been relentlessly tunneled to death hook.
Though rare, I'd rather leave the match as quickly as possible and not give them the satisfaction of hooking me or mori and I'm already not getting any points nor do I care about my rank. At that rate I'm just closing the game to play something else because I don't really like toxic killers and I was likely dead anyways so literally, what's the point.
Aside from that though I try not to dc unless something comes up irl. It sucks when other people dc but I tend to stay for the most part and attempt farm but killers usually just kill you lol it's whatever.

Are always talking about punishment in games, which does very little most of the time. You have to get to the root of the issue, why are people disconnecting? Is it because they're going against certain killers they don't like? And why don't they like these killers? Why do killer sometimes disconnect against survivors?

I don't wanna sound like I'm defending DCs here because I'm not trying to, but I just find it funny how it's "I payed for this game, I'm focusing on my fun." when it comes to rushing/camping/tunneling, and yet it's "There are 4 other players in the game who want to have fun omg" whenever it comes to DCs.

Despite what some people might think players who play killer play it for fun and when a survivor suddenly leaves the game is bassicly over.
Being left only with the choice of completly stomping and making the match a complete loss for the remaining ones so you can get into a real game
Or letting them farm wasted a ton of time not playing the game you meant to play
So don't give me that silly remark it doesn't hurt the killer. It hurts every participant of the game

This community is full of the most pathetic manchildren i have ever seen in any game ever. Even f-kin league doesn't have this many whiny disconnectors.
2 -
I'll never understand disconnects when someone is being carried to their last hook (or even after they're put on it), and people disconnecting when the gates open (or the most confusing of all, after the last survivor escapes but before the match fully ends).
You're potentially seconds away from the match being over without any disconnecting, just wait a tiny bit longer lmao.

I don't get people that dc on first down against a Trickster.. but i get it against spirit and SWF since they are both the most boring thing to verse since the creation of gaming.
The best killer players shouldn't lose this hard to the best survivor players. This just means a mediocre swf on coms will lose maybe one survivor per game just from sheer gen speed and information.

I watched a streamer I like yesterday. 4 killer DCs in a row. No joke. In chat we started taking bets as to how many were going to DC.
And as a solo survivor. Please, 80% of games someone DCs
