The Amanda's Letter add-on for The Pig has been Kill Switched due to an issue with incorrect RBT count.

Who's holding the game hostage in this situation?
I bring a rainbow map with the stamp add-ons & a white ward & the killer brought franklin's demise. I'm the last survivor left & they know where hatch is, as they were standing on top of it, & instead of closing it they chase me & I go in a locker. I'm assuming they know I brought the white ward as instead of grabbing me out the locker they're waiting for me to jump out so they can hit me with franklin's. I don't wanna lose my map so I'm waiting for them to grab me. Does this count as holding the game hostage & if it is who holding it hostage?

Interesting situation. I'd arguably say both and neither at the same time. It reminds me of if both the last survivor and killer went AFK, who's preventing the game from ending there?
In this case, both have opportunity to end the game but both want something else out of it. I don't know honestly, I kinda feel if this was reported then the devs would favor the survivor more in this situation since the killer should be killing them and not trying to take the item as a haha moment but I understand how it could be seen both ways.

The killer.

Jumping in the locker isn’t holding the game hostage at all. The killer could have ended the match at any time by pulling you out.
Then again, the killer wasn’t really holding the game hostage either since he wasn’t preventing you from performing any actions. I would think the devs would rule this as a tie and pretend it never happened.

You were not preventing the killer from killing you.
Clearly the killer.
Will it count as an infraction though? That's for the team to decide and you will need video proof.
As a side note #WhiteWardShouldWorkAgainstFranklin's

It's kinda both of your fault, but the responsibility ultimately lays on the killer I think. It's a shepherd's job to guide the flock so to speak, you can't be mad when a sheep doesn't wanna come home because they have an archive/daily/item. It's okay for them to wait a little bit because they want the match to go a certain way, but when it's clearly a stalemate, the killer really needs to buckle up and advance the gamestate, even if it's to their detriment. The killer works for the Entity, after all.

In this case I‘d also say the killer.
They have the option to end the game and don’t use it.

Both, IMO, though he was clearly a dick.

killer is holding game hostage; refused to close the hatch which is the only way progress game state based on what you described

Just like Orion said. You both were just stubborn but the killers reason was only to grief you by ultimately destroying your item and therefore he was a jerk, nobody was really "holding the game hostage" but i would say the killer could be accounted for intended grieving.
I wouldn't call opting for the chase instead of closing the hatch "holding the game hostage" per se as the survivor could try to loop back to the hatch since it is still open.

Killer IMO here. He can easily kill you, which is his objective. You are not going to escape, which is yours. So I'd say it is on them to end the game and not be a dick about it.

My personal opinion was that this seems to be a bit of 6 of one, half a dozen of the other - both of you could have progressed the game, and neither of you chose to. So I don't really see it as one or the other.
10 -
The killer would like to use their setup effectively, you want to deny them that satisfaction.
Ultimately, they DO want to kill you, you are the one NOT wanting to do the objective.
The favor is in the killer's hands.

I don't know, but I think you both deserve to be in this situation.
Two sweaty, egoistic players meet each other. Hope you stay staring each other for a whole day.
4 -
I personally think this is just wrong.
Yes, both the survivor and the killer act in an egoistic manner, but:
The survivor is not able to escape, otherwise he would have done it, judging from this post. So the only way to save your item is being pulled out of a locker.
The killer refuses to close the hatch, giving the survivor a chance to escape, but also, giving the killer all the time in the world to catch the survivor.
The killer had found the survivor, and the surv jumped into a locker. There is NOTHING stopping the killer, in this situation, from pulling the survivor out and hooking him. The killer is the power-role here, and if he refuses to grab the survivor out of the locker, THE KILLER is holding the game hostage.
The only reason the killer would do this is malicious intent. There is no way the map of the survivor is gonna help him escape here. It can only be malicious intent from the killer.
So I think the killer is at fault here.

The solution here is to nerf Franklin's. Scummy perk that was buffed and is receiving even further buffs next patch.

Sounds like the old Hatch standoff: Both have choices they can make besides disconnecting.
There's not really any hostage holding here, the Killer knows your location and you are not stuck in that Locker.
So since you are both in a situation where you want to do a specific thing and are both willing to play the patience game to get it, neither's at fault.
That's what i think at least.

Killer can never hold the game hostage.
You can bring items (and try to keep them) and the killer can bring Franklin's and try and destroy your item. You sre both in your rights to do whatever you want. If it prolongs the game because you both being petty thats your issue.

Killer can never hold the game hostage.
Patently false. Killers can bodyblock survivors in corners, for instance.
7 -
That is against rules (and a horrible thing to do) but the game isn't held hostage.
The game being held hostage = no way to end. In no situation can the killer hold game hostage. Survivors however, can.

Killer obviously. Standing on top of the hatch, camping the locker just to get item show that killer clearly had game-hostaging intentions of toxic little man who refused to advance gamestate despite being power role and having upper hand
0 -
If the last survivor is body blocked by the killer before the hatch is closed (and gates aren't opened), the game will not end.
5 -
Hmm probably both but I have more sympathy for you

They could’ve just grabbed you out of the locker and ended the game.
Likewise, you could’ve let your map go and get another one in the future.
But imo, I’d say the Killer is more at fault. There’s absolutely nothing preventing them from just.. grabbing you out the locker, sacrificing you, and ending the game.
They also could’ve just closed the hatch and trigger egc.
But it all just boils down to greediness, in this case, your item.

This is the reincarnation of the hatch standoff

That is a good point! I have never seen that situation before but I am sure it has happened. That is a reportable offense.
As for Corn's situation the killer is not holding the game hostage. They made a choice to stay in locker and keep item instead of playing the match.
1 -
I think this could be both sides fault however the killer should’ve pulled you out because like someone mentioned their objective is to kill.
0 -
Both. It would be very easy to argue either side
"Killer is holding game hostage, can just grab you out"
"Survivor is holding game hostage can just leave and let killer M1 and speed off to hatch and escape(if noed is not in play)"
1 -
Standing on top of hatch is not holding the game hostage. The survivor could go and finish repairing the gens to power up the exit gates.
2 -
Well Mandy I would actually disagree. The op stated that the killer was on the hatch and had the chance to close it, but didnt. He chased the survivor into the locker. So, I would say the killer is holding the survivor hostage becuz he could have closed the hatch which would've started end game and the timer. Just my Opininion though
