How am I supposed to counter Franklin's Demise DCing?
I got into a match & brought my rainbow map with the 2 stamp add-ons. The killer finds me, hits me with Franklin's then immediately DCs. I lose my item & there's absolutely nothing I can do about it, why is that even a mechanic?

DC penalty just needs to come back...

Yep, this is what Killers did before the DC-Penalty was a thing. Happened quite frequently before its introduction.
Just hope for the penalty coming back (but in general, Franklins Demise will be an annoying Perk forever... Most Killers seem to bring it during events..)

You counter the mechanic by dc'ing yourself.
I'm not get banned for making a dc joke, am I?

All jokes aside...
Goes to show how killers also can abuse the DC penalty being removed & be absolute cucks about it, not just survivors. Although, the killer mains on this forum will choose to ignore this.

I bring franklins if all 4 survivors have add-ons (assuming I have it on that killer). Very effective on medkits and flashlights. The best is when they feel they need to pick it back up right after you hit them lol. Dummy you just got hit again now and where's your item? On the floor again.

Why are you trying to make this a killer vs. survivor thing?

Tell me how is that the killer can abuse the DC penalty being removed what do you mean

I once had a Bubba do that to me because I brought a purple flashlight, then was super proud and happy about it in endgame chat. So I got really sad and depressed as I equipped one of my other 200 purple flashies. :(

Did not mean, they are allowed to abuse it, meant that they can ALSO abuse it, not just survivors.

Good question.
Spite, maybe? I'm no Angel.

Had a bubba do that last night. Hit all 4 then DC'd

This forum's already polarized enough, and breaks out into killer-survivor slapfights on a dime. You don't have to make it any worse than it is.
Anyway, yeah, I saw a bit of this when the penalty first came down. Even saw some players with cheeky names about it; Item Thief, Bing Bong Your Item's Gone. DC penalties need to come back; there's nothing else to be said for it. Players can abuse the hell out of the current state of things and there's generally nothing that other players can do about it. Hell, I lobbied with a SWF yesterday that warned me not to bring a cake because they were going to DC when the killer downed any of them. (Of course, they warned me at 7 seconds remaining, so both cakes and time were wasted.) I'm deathly tired of killers quitting if their first chase takes too long and survivors quitting when they go down.

My favorite is when I see that it was a brown medkit. No self care for you!

Countering it would require you to know that they plan on doing it, which you can’t possibly do. So there is no counter.

This had been patched some time go.
If you lost the item, then it's a bug.

Cannot describe how much I utterly hate that perk anyway - literally the most scummy killer perk out there. Seems to have become really popular lately for some reason. I honestly feel like it's straight up unfair as there isn't any way to avoid it, and usually when you are hit you then run away from where you were hit so it's unlikely you'll be able to recover it.
Doing it and then purposely disconnecting is scum of the highest order, I've not encountered it but I'm not surprised since scumminess seems to be on the rise.

Because Franklin's was/is the only psuedo-counter to Keys.
The more Keys you see/the longer they go unnerfed, the more Franklin's you'll see

I only saw this happening once, and it was because I did it on accident, during one of my attempts at Adept Bubba.
I left the match because dinner was ready, and I only realised that I took the guy's medkit when it was already too late.

unless you see an item on the ground or you’re playing with a friend that gives you a heads up to hop in a locker, I can’t think of anything.
I do wish there was a perk that allowed you to send one item per match back into your inventory if you place it on the ground or the item hits the ground for any reason. An entire perk slot just to store a single item along with countering the Franklin’s vs White ward issue seems rather fair to me. (Well something along these lines at least).

I dont know what kind of killers you guys are facing. I play this game quite a lot and have never seen this happen before. I think the bigger issue regarding dc penalties is the sheer amount of survivors that dc nearly every game with penalties off. Its insane. It basically ruins the game for the other survivors.

Not going to lie, that sounds hilarious. You just get a refund on the BP. I wish I could get my BP back for all the worthless items I was forced to buy...

Did he gg ez you too?

Franklin's won't be even more popular with the new keys? If they are out of charges, they can't open the hatch.
