Can we please change how the ranking system works?
In just the past few days I have depipped in nearly ~4 times, while escaping. It's not like I'm mooching off of my teammates or anything, In my last match I finished two generators and got chased for a good chunk of the match. I escape following a close end game with NOED and I depip, I just don't understand it.
In my opinion if a survivor escapes or if a killer gets 4 kills then that person should not depip, regardless of the other circumstances in the match.
Yes, I know rank doesn't really matter but I hope this is a suggestion that BHVR takes in to mind if/when they rework the ranking system.

I generally think you shouldn't de-pip if you escape period. You got out of the game by your own merits and you deserve to not de-pip.

Hard to disagree. How do you go down in rank by winning? Super counter intuitive.

They are changing it.

How exactly?

Well this is fair you have to keep in mind that if you are guaranteed to at least not go down in rank just for escaping then some players would just mooch off their teammates. Why do risky saves and gens when you can hide and wait till your team dies or does the work for you so you can escape through hatch or door. It would encourage stealth play making people work together less in a team based game if they're solo queueing. If the rank system gets reworked at all it has to be done carefully so it doesn't accidentally reward that playstyle.

I just had a game with a shameless facecamping insidious bubba, first person hooked. One of us tried but couldn't, we did ALL the gens and escaped and we ALL depipped. Why? Why are we punished for someone playing like that and getting 1 kill by ruining the game for everyone? There's that report function about griefing/holding the game hostage, and I can't think of anything more aligning with that. Other than 4k slugging and letting everyone bleed out.
I have to wonder if the facecamping thing is intentional or not. Like a bloodpoint penalty does not matter to those players. Seems like they're here to punish survivors for just wanting to have a competitive match and run around having fun. I could think of a few ways to not ruin the game for the poor person the killer decides to purposefully ruin the game for. My friends get annoyed watching pips and I as a rule just don't pay attention because there seems to be no rhyme or reason to it.

When they sort out Skill Based Matchmaking, they'll be repurposing the Ranking system.
It won't have any effect on matchmaking so instead it's going to be a monthly goal to climb as high as you can, then at the end of the month (well, the 13th of each month I assume) you get a BP bonus based on your rank, and get reset back to 20. You won't be able to depip.
