Depipping for escaping
I understand trying to make it hard to pip up, but if I escape, that should at least be a safety pip. It is absolutely ridiculous that I get punished for doing my objective too well.

Do something else than gens only and you'll pip.

Except it is? The survivors have no reason to delay in their escape, it causes less pain. The killer is the one who services the entity, not the survivors.

Sorry to inform you, but survivors are brought into the realm by the entity just as the killers. A killer can depip with a 4k, as the entity wants to feed off the emotions of its victims. The pipping system is the entity telling you how you performed in feeding its hunger...

Hard when the killer is AFK or a potato.
I don't like to force chases with baby killers. It's pretty much just prolonging the game and bullying them for points, plus you have to taunt them to get them to chase you in the first place. That's assuming they'll even chase you, because sometimes they're just tilted and determined to smoke the player that's been looping them for 5 gens.
Sometimes the best play is to just keep working on gens and doing anything else actively hurts your chances. Like, if you let the baby killer catch you so your team can start getting altruism points, half the time you're just going to end up facecamped.
I also recall a game where I escaped but depipped because I got caught first and my teammates slammed gens instead of unhooking me, and there was virtually nothing left to do by the time I got off - one gen left with two other people on it, had progressed to second stage so getting into another chase wasn't smart, and barely any altruism because very few hooks happened after I was freed and I was only in position to get one of them.

This is exactly it right here, sometimes you have no choice but to only do one thing and leave. Why should that survivor be punished for things out of their control?

If I happen to down all the survivors at the same time because they ran head first into a blood-furied Oni, a T3 meyers, bubbas chainsaw, or they made bad life choices, why should I de-pip for hooking them and ending the game there? I cannot control the bad choices the survivors make, I'm just doing my objective.
Its just how the emblems work, sometimes as the killer you have to actively ignore a survivor and let them save their friends, so that way you can get emblems (and bloodpoints). Sometimes as a survivor you have to let the killer find you and at least take a hit so you you can give a teammate altruism points, as well as your evader points.
Emblems are flawed and they will eventually get re-worked or phased out. You just gotta deal with it.

For killers theres also no reason to delay the game if they dont want pips.

What if the killer chases only 1 dude the whole game and they never go down I can't exactly do anything in that situation

Do some totems and you won't depip. Even with a afk killer.

Run towards the chase. The game registers when you are running near a chase and awards points.

Two generators and two totems and all I did was was safety pip nice try though

I mean, you didn't do anything during the whole match except hanging around. Probably ended up with 7k points or something like that.

Agreed. You also shouldn't depip if the game has DC's or you get 1/2 hooked, imo. And as someone above said, Killers shouldn't depip if they get 4 downs because the Survivors made bad choices.
The whole system needs either a rework or it needs to be replaced.

Wrong. I could unhook survivors, do gens and get chased and finish off with around 27K points and not earn a single pip. I'd say the rank/pip system is just broken or bugged.

That's a bug. Where it briefly shows a double pip on rank 20 and then shows a depip on your actual rank.
