Strongest Original Killer?

Boss
Boss Member Posts: 13,616

Which of the 3 original Killers (Trapper, Wraith, Hillbilly) is currently the most effective at killing all 4 Survivors as quick as possible?

Anything that isn't cheats is allowed: Perk combos, Perk+Add-on combos, the scummiest yet legal tactics you can think of, etc. etc.

Oh, and let's assume the Survivors play "normally": No betraying eachother, no farming, no AFK, etc. etc.

And of course you can consider what the Survivors do as well: Do they want the Killer's attention, do they mainly repair, do they perform lots of altruism, do they combine these tactics, etc. etc. (etc. 😛)

So considering all that, which Killer is the best at killing all 4 very fast on average?

Its pretty tight between Wraith and Billy tbh, but I still think Billy has the upperhand

Billy, instadown and high mobility is better than stealth, unless you have bone clapper or coxcombed capper, the survivor will just hear you, and even if they dont, they can still see you.

Also Billy has chase music so instant win for me

A good Billy with Infectious Fright and Bambozlee is still a snowball machine imo.

Although, technically Trapper could get an early basement hook and kill everyone easily if survivors are altruistic.

I'd say it's a very close battle between wraith and billy. Perfectly played billy would most likely be stronger then perfectly played wraith but billy is significantly harder to play perfecly then wraith is.

So in general setting of normal red rank match, wraith is stronger but if it came to peak performance billy is stronger. Also important thing to mention, wraith with some of the really strong addons trumps billy on some maps as billy's addons are kind of meh.

Trapper is inefficient slow RNG machine so he's not even a consideration.

Billy by far. Nothing beats some good mobility and an instadown, plus his ability to curve at loops can get you some super disgusting downs. Wraith has a lot of power in his kit too, but he can still be easily beaten by a team that intelligently gen spreads, he just can't keep up.

Wraith. Billy has too much randomness and no good addons.

Dont play OP and unfair killers. Play fair killers like pig, myers, trapper and clown.

This is between Wraith and Billy.

Both have mobility, though Billy's is better. Wraith has stealth, but Billy can insta-down.

It's hard to say because the two play so differently. Wraith relies on ambushes and hit-and-run tactics while Billy is a snowball machine.

Although, Billy still gets hit hard by certain maps while Wraith has lost a significant amount of his map dependency with the new speed and 20m+ complete invisibility.

Wraith also has maps that are roughly free wins such as indoor maps, which is pretty great. However, Billy can potentially wreck an entire team in moments if he plays his hards right.

All around, I'd say they're about even.

Now, let's all press F for Trapper who is almost unanimously agreed to be the weakest of the bunch.

Tbh I really want to say Billy for the chase potential

But each time I meet a Billy, or he leaves me during chase after a moment, or he DC'd. I genuinely think you have to be seriously outplayed by yourself to be chainsawed by a Billy.

Wraith is more... Consistent I would say. And his add-ons are actually golden. Plus, a lot of people are talking about the great mobility Billy has, well, put Windstorm and you have a beast of speed and mobility with the Wraith. And Wraith has a giga lunge post uncloak, which would be his "Curve".

    Wraith the best for me.

Wraith, I'd share the most horrible build that makes people angry and it takes wraith to a whole new level, but I dont want it to be common knowledge lol. Others are okay but wraith is more consistent on all maps etc.

    Hillbilly.

With the proper builds, and talent, Billy still is the monster we all loved to face.

    Wraith.

Trapper is joke. Billy is strong but good survivor will make him monkey. But Wraith is strong on all ranks.

    Most definitely Wraith.

Hillbilly would be a second up, but he gets punished way to badly with his overheat mechanic (all they gotta do is not make it as taxing)

So, Trapper is second then, he can shut people up from far away and make survivors terrified of certain loops. But, he can get stalked by survivors and disarm your traps or rng says no

I would personally say that this is an incredibly close argument between Hillbilly and Wraith. Trapper is clearly not amongst the level of these two.

Billy's mobility is technically far better, but it's a lot more limited than Wraith's.

Billy can technically cut off chases far faster, but this depends heavily on the loop you're at and might not even work on some loops. Wraith's is more consistent but slower.

Wraith's stealth allows him to approach easier than Billy and still has mobility (unless of course we include double Iri Hillbilly which is a lot more costly still and still requires 2 seconds of a sprint, etc).

Wraith shines on indoor maps while Hillbilly suffers from them. Might be a minor point, but when 2 of the most Survivor sided maps (imo, RPD and Gideon are amongst the most broken maps) are indoors, I think it's fair enough to mention.

Personally, I feel like I need to go with Wraith, because of more reliable mobility. There aren't a whole lot of maps that Hillbilly can just run across the map on unless he runs both of the turning addons and the map reworks feel like they're nerfing Hillbilly with each one. Plus, Wraith can shore up his issues a bit by running chase perks like Enduring and Spirit Fury. Hillbilly can kind of do this too, and Endfury on Hillbilly is nothing to scoff at, but people are a lot more inclined to predrop against Hillbilly which weakens the potential you can get from the combo.

They're both really good, but I'm gonna have to go with Wraith for these points and a few others like him heavily encouraging heals due to his good approach.

Obviously Trapper won't stand a chance. I'm leaning towards Billy because he has great mobility and a nice instadown ability.

With addons and perks Wraith basekit Billy. Billy has like no good addons Wraith has wallhacks and brutal strength on steroids.

Id say Billy, but Ive also seen survivor teams get snowballed by Trapper's traps.

Trapper can literally win the game off luck. He may not be the best. But he's number 1 in everybody's heart.

    Surprised people are saying Billy.

I think Wraith outclasses Billy against a good team, given they're not literally Oracle. Billy's power works on less and less tiles since map reworks and redesigns, and he overall has a super abusable chase that can last a VERY long time. The only way Billy is better is against a really high level swf, which renders Wraith nearly useless (and Billy too, but less so. They both get completely dominated tbf. Wraith is just useless, and Billy is just moreso complete garbage). Otherwise, I'd argue a hit and run wraith with an oppressive anti-heal + gen slow build is far better and FAR more reliable than Billy in 90% of matches and maps.

Depends I mean basement Trapper can really get things going if things goes his way. Normally it's probably Wraith though.

A lot of people say billy but tbh with wraiths buffs and the billy rework I'm declined to say wraith.

And tbh it's not even close.

Wraith always has mobility, Billy needs straightish lines. Wraith will go from point A to B swiftly all the time. In Lery's Billy isn't much faster then any other 115% killer

Instadown vs good survivors is very rare, they will force you to m1. Curving is nice and all but more flashy then effective. and messing it up to much is just wasted time.

Some tiles billy just has to take the loop, there are very little tiles where the postcloak lunge isn't helpfull

I would say Wraith now is overal just more concistant and thus more powerfull. The only thing that could swing it to Billy is if every survivor knows it's a wraith and they just go all out with flashlight/bangs

Wraith for sure. He has good mobility that's always available and has very strong addons.

Well out of the 3 Wraith is the one I see the most, then Trapper, then Billy. I haven't seen a Billy all of July :< i can see why everyone says Wraith but I never have an issue with him. Spine Chill and an exhaustion perk are enough to keep ahead of him and still get the gens done.

I think Trapper shouldn't be overlooked here. Yah he doesn't have zoomie potential but he can shut down half the map. Well placed traps can end a match very fast. I also think Trapper has the advantage of no one taking him seriously so they let their guard down.

Just about anyone can play wraith. Billy is a different story however there is a big learning curve with his chainsaw at loops. That alone makes it wraith with me. Not to mention his speed is easy accessible and not hindered by map/objects. Another note he has very powerful add-ons and so does trapper. Trapper you can be dominating and then snap, snap, snap game over and he also has some powerful add-ons. Hillbilly does have the ability to be stronger than both but is up to the person using him. Wraith does not need as much skill so he is by far the easiest to 4k with.

I'm a sucker for the underdog, but I've always felt that Trapper is underrated. I enjoy playing him a lot. It's all in the add-ons, perk build, trap placement, and how you go about herding the Survivors into those traps.
