Azhymovs’ 100 games stats show something very interesting about keys
Out of 300 survivors he played with, only 3 used keys, so 1%. Kinda interesting, since I do think they’re quite unreasonably strong, but a vast majority of survivors are not using them. This lines up with my own experiences, as I hardly ever see a key, and see it used even less.

Same here, hardly ever see them as either role, most likely due to people understanding how broken they can be. The community isn't as heartless as we may think sometimes.
3 -
I can believe that. Especially since any Survivor who dares to bring a key is essentially begging to get tunnelled.
6 -
Yeah, I think people on here tend to exaggerate somewhat as to how common they, as well as deathsquad SWFs are.

I’ve never escaped when I’ve brought in a key. I’ve only ever used one if I happened to find one during the match. And even if I find it, there’s no guarantee I’ll also find the hatch in time.

Having a key in the lobby is just screaming at the killer to tunnel you out early, risk not worth taking.
1 -
I mean, yeah, those are my observations as well. I rarely see Keys.
The only time where Key Escapes spiked in my games was when the chances of getting them in chests were bugged.
0 -
At this moment there are 57000 players on steam
That's 11400 games that could be played at this moment.
Even if 75% are in lobby right now that's 2850 games being played
At this one instance in time. Almost 10 times as much as your sample.
With only the pc players.
This means nothing.
That said yes the overal key use is not that common. Does not make them okay though

Survivors know what goes down once they bring a key, only a few percent are thug enough to try it. And then half of them cry after killers play around the key.
0 -
That's me as well. I rarely see keys in my lobby.
0 -
Then nobody will mind if we nerf the ######### out of this busted "underused" item and rework it into something fun and fair.
If you all keep saying that you rarely see keys used or work why make posts that suggest you don't want them changed.
They're dumb just like old mories were, they need a changes asap.
2 -
They use 10,000 people as a sample of millions at times, this is not at all low for the amount of players at red rank.
0 -
Yes, nobody here cares. Never use them so I really don’t see it impacting me
0 -
Good, glad we agree. Now just to wait another 2 years before devs finish working on their key changes.
1 -
They use 10,000 people as a sample of millions at times
Yes, by looking for people with specific characteristics, based on statistical data of the total population they're looking for, and applying a lot of math to make sure the data set is statistically significant. I highly doubt Azhymovs did all that.
this is not at all low for the amount of players at red rank.
How do you know how many there are?
0 -
I'd love to bring them but have people target you because of the key, even a green one since the model is the same, and you eventually stop. They aren't useful during the trial. I'm not sure the few times I've found a key I managed to find the hatch before death.
0 -
I feel like keys are common, but combine that with a high kill rate and survivors don't really get a chance to use them.
0 -
The problem isn't people bringing keys.
If a killer sees that, they will leave the lobby. Even if it's last second, they'll bring out the task manager.
The problem is people finding them.
If you're running Plunderer's and Appraisal, you've got a 43% chance of finding at least one usable key, which means you just win even if you give the killer the most unbeatable gen setup.
3 -
I don't see many keys in trials, both brought in and found in chests.
I find it funny that when I see them, the survivor is usually killed early, regardless of being tunneled, so the key just kind of sits there and everyone else escapes.
It's like marking yourself as a sacrifice.
0 -
Yeah because chest builds are incredibly common
0 -
Right now?
With a 43% chance to just not be able to lose?
YES.
VERY.
2 -
No, not at all, once in 20 games, and that might be generous

Given the player count, when you’re looking exclusively at red rank, and how people can encounter the same players fairly often, 300 is a sufficient sample size. Also, it lines up perfectly with what most people in the thread have said, that they hardly ever see keys.
1 -
I am the only person I know that ever uses plunderer's, please be realistic.
0 -
Given the player count
Which is unknown, except on Steam.
when you’re looking exclusively at red rank
Another unknown.
and how people can encounter the same players fairly often
100% subjective. "Twice per week" is "fairly often" for some people.
300 is a sufficient sample size.
Impossible to know because we have no data on the number of players at each rank. They also come from the same region: whatever Azhymovs' region is (or close to it).

Do you know all the people that Bard knows?
0 -
Me: slowly slides away with me and my friends 15 key escapes in the past couple days
0 -
I love & respect Bard

Doesn’t matter that it’s impossible to know, regardless of what the exact figure is, 300 + personal experience here on the thread is good enough considering this isn’t a scientific experiment.
0 -
Something extremely ironic happens whenever my friend brings a key.. so she only brings it if it’s an archive challenge or a daily and can probably count on 2 hands how many times I’ve actually brought a key into a match because I always tell her if it’s meant to be I’ll escape and get my daily or challenge done etc.. but…..
even if she isn’t tunnelled to death, which she typically isn’t even after bringing a key in.. I end up either getting the exit gate or wind up being the last one standing and getting the hatch instead of her lol. The amount of times she’s called me a “lucky little rat” for somehow being the only one that escapes is hilarious.

Indeed, it's not a scientific experiment, which is why 300 people aren't a statistically significant sample size. That was my point.

Heya, this isn't an important reply, I'm sorry, but can you check your page's wall?
0 -
My what wall and how do I do that
0 -
Oh, check your profile page on the forums.
If you're mobile it should be on the bottom right, on PC top right
0 -
I see I'll do it
0 -
Alrighty
0 -
How do I do it just in a random thread or is there a wY to reply
0 -
I mean stats don't mean ######### in this game, so there's that, but I do agree that keys are stupid broken
edit: I edited my comment cause I initially worded it horribly, my bad

So, if you tap here, you should see a list.
One of them is view profile. When you see that, tap it and it'll show you your profile, just scrolls down and you should see comments
0 -
I should also warn you that you will never ever receive a notification on your profile, so I suggest checking periodically, like twice a day or so

Ok so my dream cosmetics are for the Yamaokas my cosmetic for oni is a sort of dragon one where his skin and armor is all scaly with a dragon shaped head. And then for Rin it's a costume that somewhat resembles the girl from the ring

People use keys? I only get them from chests honestly less chance of being targeted for key right away
0 -
Last time I collected stats, there were 11 keys were brought into the trial. Of those 11: 2 escaped normally, 6 were killed, and 3 used their key to escape. A total of 4 people escaped through keys in those matches.
0 -
I should keep count sometime, but they're extremely rare in my games. I've used them in challenges when necessary, or just by dumb luck if I happened to get one in a chest and actually had the chance to use it, but the amount of times I find a key and swap it, or escape without ever using it, or die and leave it on the ground vastly outnumber anything else. And I've rarely seen my teammates use one successfully either.

I see, I'll try my best

Thank you

I have 5 other requests after this one, so I'll send it after I finish haha
0 -
I have done the math on this before.
The Plunderer's loot table has a 9.4% chance of finding a usable key on each search (14% of items are keys, and 67.6% of keys are usable).
Since Appraisal searches benefit from Plunderer's, and there are three base chests, you get to roll for that 9.4% chance six times.
(1-(1-0.094)^6 ) = 0.447
A 44.7% chance that at least one of those is a usable key. Actually slightly higher than I remembered.
Oh, and if you don't get a key, you're still getting medkits and toolboxes unless your luck is just #########.
