Should we have voice chat or proximity chat?
Ik that discord has at least covered voice chat, but with crossplay its a challenge for console and pc players to play a game together. Also their is the public lobbies, which ik sounds bad, but wouldn't it be great if you could talk to a player who u respected and become friends. Welp here is ur chance. Let's make sure the dev's hear us through this vote.

I don't know why you have your poll options organized with 2 yes's and 2 no's but I just want to be clear:
no, no, no, and of course: no.
Never in a million years.
Yes, the devs have heard us but maybe you haven't been around long enough to hear that answer: it's a chorus of players across the board in the community saying no. It's one of the few things most of the community can actually agree on.

This game does not need voice chat. If I want to hear 12-year-olds call me slurs, I can play pretty much any other PVP game.

Preset text messages like Identity V has would be perfect though, along with a ping system. No real way to abuse it and it could be used to make solo teams much much more coordinated

Proximity chat
The chat would not be the player talking, It will be the survivor you're playing as, And you can say stuff like "Help me" or "Generator over there"

it would be nice to be honest, if not a vc then at least a pinging system

Terrible idea. people are already toxic enough without it, What we do need is like an communication wheel to bring solo in line with swf. something like:
- working on gen
- going for save
- cleansed totem
- etc.

So like a quick chat, I'd be down with that sense we only have two emotes that are not always useful. And going off what everyone is saying, that would be the best option here.

Proximity chat
It would be hilarious

Proximity chat
Only if they add a gamemode for this.

Proximity chat should be a custom game feature. Would be fun as hell.

I prefer to play immersed and not be put into a position where I have no choice but to talk with others, lest I get flack for choosing not to participate.
If it was available for an optional game mode, I'd be more accepting as then I don't have to do it. But as a main feature it would put quite a lot of the playerbase off.

Im impartial on proximity chat, but full game voice chat is a no.
Something that I'd be fine with is a callout system of sorts, where a text box saying something from a menu you can select appears next to your character on the hud. Allowing for some communication in solo queue.

No, or kindred and other information perks would be useless

Proximity chat
Proximity voice chat is the one that makes the most sense IMO. It would close the gap between SoloQ and SWF a little (but not completely). But I'd add some things to it:
-Killers should receive a signal like a whisper if standing close to survivors chatting.
-Interactions should be short, otherwise, ravens nearby should start cawing (is that the word? lol).
-Players must have the option to opt out of voice chat or block other players.
-Survivors wouldn't be able to speak if: currently hooked, in the dying state, madness (Doctor), asleep (Freddy), trapped (Pig), Infected (Plague & Nemesis) or restrained (Victor).

Discord already exists and people on discord with one another already enjoy the myriad benefits associated with total map awareness that confers. Since there is zero chance killers will be buffed to compensate for all the free perks SWF get from voice chat, and there is no way to prevent Discord chat short of removing pre-made groups, I would rather ALL survivors get proximity voice chat (or, at least the option to turn it on), and then killers get appropriately buffed in compensation.
That said, having ANY survivor communication DOES defeat the "scared and alone" point of the game, and completely is not fair in the slightest. I ALSO don't want to hear some 12 year old tossing casual racism to try to be 'cool.' But third party programs will forever prevent the game from anything remotely resembling its original intent, and the Developers have expressly said that they're not putting SWF is their own lobbies (or otherwise nerfing/restricting/impacting SWF players), you're just never going to get balance.

Proximity chat
I confess it would be funny if you can hear the crying in the hook of the sweatys calling you tunneler, that would be cool, but between survs exist discord.
