No way out works when you close hatch
Not sure if this is a bug or buff to no way out but when I closed the hatch (with 1 gen left) NWO gave me the loud noise notification and block the both exit gate switches (closed hatch because the other 3 survivors were moried with devour hope)

As it should according the to the perk text. "Once the exit gates have been powered", which happens when gens are done or hatch is closed.

It just never did that for the old NWO so I wasn’t sure if that was part of the buff

While I can't answer for sure, I have never used the perk other than the one time I did Trickster adept. But are you sure it didn't block the gates then as well? Just that it didn't give a noise notification before the change.
The trigger condition of "Once the exit gates have been powered", is unchanged between the versions of the perk.

This isn't a bug and its written within the wording of the perk, here it is in comparison to other endgame perks
Rancor - Once all gens are powered (doesn't work from closing hatch)
Noed - Once exit gates are powered (does work from closing hatch)
No Way Out - Once exit gates are powered (same wording as noed, and does work from closing hatch)
