What makes a killer boring to you?
Title, what makes a killer boring to you? Also, what are your least favorite killers to face and why?
My example: I hate killers that feel uninteractive in chase or barely chase at all. These are the trap killers mainly, as they are mainly just M1 killers unless you step in a trap and get downed/hit.
Least favorite killers to face are Hag, Trapper, and Freddy because of their traps.

I hate weak killers, it's just not challenging to go against them (Myers, Trapper, Legion, Nemesis..)
6 -
Just a killer who doesn’t allow you to do much in chase. Killers like spirit or nurse don’t really allow you to use the games chase mechanics and actively remove fundamentals in chase.
5 -
What makes a killer boring for me is their lack of uniqueness.
My least favorite killers are Ghostface and Trickster. Both of their concepts already exist (stalk and ranged attacks) and they have their own set of flaws.

mostly bugs tbh

Let me just list all the killers and whether or not they are “boring” to me.
Trapper- Can be boring as hell.
Wraith- There is no chase interaction. It’s cloak, uncloak, omega lunge, hit, cloak again, rinse, and repeat. Wraith doesn't chase. A snoozefest.
Billy- Very interactive while also being a threat. I love Billy.
Nurse- I like her as long as it isn’t a very good player.
Myers- As long as it isn’t Scratched Mirror.
Hag- Meh. She’s okay
Doctor- Can be annoying but is decent.
Huntress- Not boring but frustrating due to wonky hatchet hits.
Bubba- Same as Billy
Freddy- Not particularly the most enjoyable experience but I won’t complain.
Pig- Another case of not boring but frustrating due to an insane amount of Pig players because trap tunnelers.
Clown- The definition of the word boring.
Spirit- Uninteractive, but not boring. More like a “darn should’ve played better”
Legion- Boring. I hate mending simulator.
Plague- She’s fun
Ghostface- Basically same as Wraith but just not as good.
Demogorgon- Fun
Oni- Fun
Deathslinger- Not boring as in I’m falling asleep but insanely unfun.
Pyramid Head- He’s decent
Blight- I personally dislike Blight and find him unfun but he isn’t a boring killer. Most players run the same exact build leading to predictable gameplay. Making all Blight matches feel the same. There is no variety to this character.
Twins- Can be depending on the playstyle. Most Twins like to slug meaning you’re sitting on the ground admiring floor graphics for a long time.
Trickster- He’s okay
Nemesis- He’s okay
I don’t find most killers boring as in I’m about to fall asleep, but a lot of them are either frustrating or just not enjoyable to face. I wouldn’t say boring though.

Frequency more than anything else matters to me as far as how entertaining a killer is to play against.
Huntress, Wraith, Doctor and Spirit are complete snoozefests for me since I run into them constantly. If I see a Trapper or Clown though, I'm really excited since I hardly get them.
1 -
I hate trickster he's example of everything boring, annoying, weak and did I said boring?
1 -
The only times i'm genuinely bored as Killer are when i have to do things to use their Killer Power that does not involve the Survivors.
- Setting up Bear Traps as Trapper.
- Setting up Phantasm Traps as Hag.
- Reloading Hunting Hatchets as Huntress.
- Setting up various traps as Nightmare.
- Setting up Torment Trails as Executioner.
- Reloading Blades as Trickster.
Executioner is the least boring one here, as there's lots more to the Killer Power and you can move around as you lay Torment Trails down.
The 2 reloaders are next, since that's all it is: You just reload.
3rd most boring to me is Nightmare, at least i can teleport to important locations quickly.
2nd is Hag, at least i can teleport to triggered Phantasm Traps.
1st is Trapper, i find little to be more boring than having to get the Bear Traps, go and set them up, have them potentially do nothing, and the snap isn't satisfying enough to me to accept the mentioned negatives.
Now technically i don't have to do any of those things from the list, but then i might as well play Wraith without ever cloaking.

Lazy tactics (heavily reliant on slugging and camping), poor counterplay (Spirit), overplayed to the point where I’m just sick of seeing them (Wraith).
6 -
As a survivor: any killer that has boring "I pressed the button" chase mechanics such as Spirit, Hag, Clown, Deathslinger and a few others. The most interesting killers to play against are Demogorgon, Blight and Billy.
As a killer: I really only play Demogorgon, Trapper and Myers. To be honest its pretty boring to play killer and I can't really stand to play it for more than a few weeks at a time every few months because its so unbelievably easy compared to what it used to be.

I'm not a fan of super binary killers with predictable gameplay patterns. I suppose it boils down to play style moreso than a specific Killer power. Like, Twins are pretty boring and incredibly awful design, but I can respect a Twins player who uses both Victor and Charlotte simultaneously. I can respect an unpredictable m1 Legion god who you can't tell will Frenzy groups or double back and bodyblock you.
These days Wraith is boring to me because they are incredibly predictable- you are either going to get tunneled out aggressively, or you're going to get hit+run and he'll never commit. That's all the variation you'll see with most Wraiths.
1 -
A lot of whether I enjoy a Killer comes down to the question "How easy is it for the Survivors to force me to just hold W after them?" If the answer is very easy, then I'll probably not like the Killer. If the answer is almost impossible, then I'll probably like them quite a bit. That's why my current favorite killers are Trickster, Blight, and Legion.

Mainly just weak or Overused killers. Weak Killers just are... well.. weak, so it's not really fun and overused killers are just killers that I see Waaaay to often and it's boring to see the same thing every time.
0 -
1-track gameplay. No interactions, options or anything resembling a competition between two players.
1 -
Killers that lack counterplay and ignore your strongest defense as Survivor, pallets and windows. It's like what the hell am I even trying for?
1 -
A killer where I feel like I have to avoid as much interaction as possible and just gen rush to have a decent chance against them.
0 -
Hag is absolutely boring because chances are you aren't being chased and if you do get downed the average hag will probably just 10 trap your hook area
1 -
Any killer that just camps you to death/tunnels you immediately off hook.
5 -
imma go through every killer because im bored (idea from megmain98)
Trapper- not that fun. only will ever chase you if theres a trap nearby, and if there isn’t there’s 0 chase (unless they’re bad and chase without traps). probably a 4/10
Wraith- same thing. no chase interaction, most pallets are a 50/50 hit and you can barely loop. 2/10
Billy- very fun. perfect balance of interactive chase mechanics while also being strong. 10/10
Nurse- fun, as long as the player isnt a top 10 sweat with 5k hours. 9/10
Myers- meh. fun but has boring aspects (being downed to a 99d stalk, and scratched mirror) probably a 6/10
Hag- 0 fun. she has no interaction in chase except having her get guaranteed hits through traps, wont chase you if there arent traps nearby, and camps the best. 0/10
Doctor- you inevitably go down if the doctor is smart, so not the most fun. Also predrop meta. least favorite thing about him though is his on screen effects. 2/10
Huntress- would be fun if she didnt have such bs hatchet hits. 10/10 if she didnt have the bs hits, so she’d go down to 6/10
Bubba- meh, most tiles are played the same. bamboozle is usually ran on him too and it makes him sort of boring (since its just pallet looping, which there’s 0 mindgames in usually) 4/10
Freddy- inevitably, if he wants he can bloodlust every pallet. so boring. 2/10
Pig- slowdown which isnt really fun to counter and a nonexistent chase power, since most people cant use her dash well. not my favorite but when i go against a good pig it’s usually fun. 10/10 if its a good pig.
Clown- on screen effects give me headaches. i hate clown with a passion. 0/10
Spirit- uninteractive chase, but its fun getting chased by bad spirits. id say 3/10
Legion- mending is annoying and chases are just core m1 simulator, probably a 4/10
Plague- on screen effects are gross and puking can make me feel nauseous sometimes. would be a 6/10 bc corrupt purge is fun to dodge, but shes a 3/10 for the above reasons.
Ghostface- no real sense of uniqueness. 2/10
Demogorgon- inevitability depending on the loop, and doesnt get punished for feathering his power. 4/10 (+1 bc its demo)
Oni- fun, as long as they don’t have topknot. 7/10
Deathslinger- 0 fun. i dont think i need to explain why. 0/10
Pyramid Head- one of my favorite killers to go against if they go for really dumb shots through the wall. but most ppl play him where hits are inevitable. 7/10 for the former, 3/10 for the latter.
Blight- one of my favorite killers, but can get annoying if i face him too much. 9/10
Twins- inevitable hits with victor and theyre a slug heavy killer. 0/10
Trickster- inevitable hits. also gets bodied on certain maps, still not fun. 2/10
Nemesis: inevitable hits, but hes bearable i guess. killing zombies is fun. 3/10

A killer that's boring to me is one where as soon as the match starts you know what's coming.
If it's a Leatherface or Hillbilly. "Oh jeez here comes the one hit down chainsaw tactic.
If it's the Doctor "Oh man here comes the static blast to make me scream and mess with my skill checks over and over again"
If it's Myers or ghostface. "Oh man here comes the stalk to power up that one hit down. so fun."
If it's warith "oh man here comes the cloak and box people into a corner or against a gen so they have no chance of escape for free hits."
and my personal Favourite. Face camping a hook while cloaked so that the person on the hook has no idea he's there at all thanks to animation priority and as soon as you get off the hook he's literally on top of you.
1 -
The anti-loop style killers mostly. I know it sucks as killer to get run for 3 gens or more because maps are too big and have too many pallets, but man does it feel bad to have your only form of defense completely negated like with Nemesis or Deathslinger.
Also Bubba and Wraith. Bubba's chainsaw is too easy to use and lasts for far too long with a major speed boost. Wraith is overplayed and has way too much going for him (speed, sees through walls, silent bell, no cool down for power, speed boost while unblocking, etc.).
I genuinely love playing against good Nurse and Spirit players because you really have to think about what you're doing. They have the most interactive chases by far, and you have to stay on your guard for the entire match. They actually make you respect the killer as an opposing force.
1 -
Killers who don't use their power. Like, why are you even playing Trapper if you're not setting up traps?
0 -
Killers that get free hits just for existing. Deathslinger for example there's literally nothing you can do at a pallet you greed it he'll shoot you you drop it early he shoots you.
Pyrimid Head you run to pallet he puts his sword down you run threw he puts sword away and hits you. You drop he hits you. I hate that you cant really do anything besides give them a free hits, and basically feel cheated

what i got out of this thread.
"vast majority of killers are not fun, the only killers that are fun are the ones that I can abuse in a tile loop" 😄
1 -
killers with no interesting or fun counterplay in chase are a big one. slinger, spirit, pyramid head (to a lesser extent), etc. same stuff you always hear but never changes lol
0 -
A killer that has all of their power devoted to the chase. It feels like I can barely do anything against them.
But when their power has aspects devoted to the 1 v 4 and 1 v 1, it feels like their strength is split. Making it more of an even fight in both ends.
0 -
Nurse, twins, slinger and bubba.
Yea I hate bubba and when I say bubba, I mean double chilli bamboozle bubba
0 -
I agree with OP; most boring are killers that don't feel interactive in chase. Trap killers, spirit/nurse types, extreme hit and run stealth boys, etc. The main fun in this game is the chase and the looping, take that away and it's just skill check sim whether on gen or on the hook. Also, any killer that slugs for 4K but isn't good enough to actually find the fourth survivor quickly. Just let me leaaaave.
0 -
My favorite killer to play against is Bubba because he actually feels like a threat that has counterplay to him and a main him:).The killer I hate the most going against is Nemesis as he has the magical power of hitting you, making your game freeze, then the freeze will lead you to do something stupid like running into a wall, and then you die horribly.
1 -
Hag is the definition of boring for me. Oh someone got hooked? Better take 10 years to crouch to that hook. So you unhooked someone? Would be a shame if hag is already coming back. You want to run? Nope there are at least two traps around the hook. You are being chased? Guess what every loop in a 40m radius is already trapped, you can't do anything. And now YOU are hooked. Fun, right?
Her counter is a swf with at least one flashlight but as a solo you are done

I don't feel there are boring killers in terms of playstyle for me.
However, I do have an issue with Legion being a boring design. A bunch of hoodies is just very dull and difficult to take seriously for me. But for others it may be a pure nightmare!
0 -
The person playing it.
I don't care who it is or who I am facing, but the person playing it can make any Killer the most sluggish Killer to play against.
0 -
Sorry, for the late reply
But why do you consider him boring? Is it the fact he's unoriginal, his chase ability, other, what in particular makes him boring to you?
0 -
His design, his power just a throwing simulator and annoying voice nothing practicular and as playing with him he's slow, easily looped and too slow
0 -
Boring? Does that mean "dislike" or "hate" or are we really talking about boring? Maybe i am to emotional, but i never felt bored by a killer, but i dislike or even hate some of them. The only "boring" killer is an afk killer or a very bad killer who does not know how to play the game.
0 -
I mean... It IS NOT fun when the chase just results in being downed fast and then if that happens until you die as a survivor, that's the least fun match out there. I know people point out that it's 4v1 and there are 3 other survivors, but it results in a ######### match nonetheless.

I actually can't stand Trickster. I just cringe when I load into a match and hear that treble of his music because I know there's a high chance it's going to be a 14 year old playing him (I know there are a adults who play him, but I seem to get all the kiddies who like him b/c zomg KPoP). All I've ever seen is Trickster camping and tunneling. He'll just sit there, staring at the hooked person, waiting for the unhooker, and there is a 85% chance that he'll hook you and just repeatedly throw knives at you while you hang there. Reload, do it again.
Honestly without the d/c penalty in place right now, sometimes I contemplate disconnecting when I see Killer is Trickster b/c I know it will just be a exercise in enduring a thrown match to get to a real one.
0 -
Boring for me = predictable killers/plays. Hag will predictably trap hooked players, not much you can do about it. Spirit will just randomly turn up and attack you with you being unable to do much about it. I like killers that have various playstyles and strategies.
0 -
When the counter to their power is "hold M1".
1 -
The killers that i hate to face are the ones that don't have meaningful interaction within a chase.
If there's no fair chance for either side to outplay each other than the killer is not fun to go against (e.g Freddy,Myers,Legion,Wraith etc.)
0 -
Range killers. Can we get something different for once?
0 -
Survivors mains be like I find every killer boring, they shouldn’t have no unique power and should be easily counter by predropping pallets and running away.
1 -
Killers who are either M1 killers without any significant changes to normal M1 chase gameplay like legion or even worse, trapping killers like hag but mainly trapper. Those I dislike because for one I'm a oblivious trap magnet and the fact that if you run into their trapped area, you're doomed without any ACTIVE chase interaction, they just set up a trap beforehand and now you've run into it. I just don't enjoy that as survivor.
On the opposite side of the spectrum, I love killers who constantly put you into danger with active chase power they need to use properly all the time to become a threat. So basically, nurses, slingers, PHs, spirits, twins etc. All those are absolute joy to play against imo even if I fail miserabely even now and then, getting downed fast easily.
0 -
I kind of think the same way. I think they want a standard basic 115% speed 32m terror radius M1 killer without any powers.
The reason why overwhelming survivor mains find BIlly to be 'fun' against is because very good Billys are hard to come across, and even then, he still can be abused by loops.
1 -
There's a lot of killers lately that seem to negate vaults and pallets. People complain about holding W but what are we supposed to do sometimes?
0 -
I know right, just look at nemesis, it takes 3 hit to down with his power and give survivors free sprint burst yet they still complaining about his zombies.
i bet the next killer will be like nemesis but take 5 hit to down a survivor and every hit is a free sprint burst lol
0 -
Killers that can remove loops completely like nurse.
0 -
A Killer that slugs and camps is completely boring. Every time that happens it's just okay this match will be fast. It's like when I've had almost every killer use a one-shot and just either sit at the hook or go after another for downing. It shorter terms, a killer that just wants a fast match by using an OP one with a one-shot.
0 -
Any killer where survivors have almost no influence if they survivor or not.
Nurse for example. It never really feels like i won against the Nurse, but rather that she lost. 60% depends on her skill, 30% on map and rng factor and maybe only 10% survivor skill. If the Nurse is very good, there is beside RNG nothing really the survivor can do in chase.
Other examples would be the majority of recent range killer, especially Deathlinger. He is missing, i am not dodging. And again, it is more lack of his skill or RNG then anything else when you win a chase/"dodge" his hits.
