(Rant) Solo survivor is a nightmare these days
This is just a random rant but it has to be at this point.. it has to get out.. im sorry.
Game number 6 in a row now i died sole because of teammates who apparently have just installed the game and bought their rank at a boosting service or whatever... It is totally unbelieveable, i feel like i am playing with payed actors.
Every game the ######### same. I do 3-4 gens or loop the killer for minutes (sometimes EVEN BOTH!) while the randoms do not a single generator or anything else productive. When a survivor gets hooked, nothing happens, until i take heart and sacrifice myself for poor guy. Once i am hooked, it is game over. Just game over. I wont get unhooked unless a miracle happens, and there wont be any people who do gens, they just sit in the grass and wait for better times. The 4% try is acutally the best option for me in my recent games, not kidding.
The game sense in my random lobbys is so low it is not even funny anymore.. and we are talking here about Rank 1 and thousends of hours of playtime on my part (which should guarantee teammates, who are also on a high level)
I know, there is not a lot to do at this point until the MMR might actually work (if it ever will) but it is sooo aweful to play Solo Survivor recently.

I know this is just putting a bandaid on a problem.
But run Open Handed + Kindred. On smaller maps it feels especially broken against the Killer and it helps make Solo Queue much MUCH more bareable.
That way you'll know what to prioritize and who to focus on helping. Open-Handed is purely for the Killer aura reading which can be really far away from the Killer from the hook.
(Seriously, I've been staring at her as she chased around the Meg and she never went outside the aura reading range)

I can feel this. At current state I wish for nothing as badly as a blacklist option. So I can throw all the trash into it which makes the game quite unenjoyable. I'd be content just to be never matched with those again, both survivors and killers, but as far as I care BHVR could deport them to Uganda or whatever.
Instead of the placebo that is the reporting function. Can't be that hard to implement, can it?

I had better teammates in Green Ranks. I get reds and purples who loop over the teammate hooked on the basement.

I got tunneled out of the game my first two matches today and then started getting teammates that were too spooked and would run away when I'd need a heal and vault on their way out, bringing the killer right to me lol 2 survivors and 1 killer have DCed so far too (I DCed the second match I got tunneled, but it was death hook anyway so it was more of a middle finger to the killer without putting my teammates in a bad spot).
I still have fun, but I get tired of the BS.

All solo que players should run Kindred. Help those teammates out that are playing very immersed and can't read situations well (and its just overall such a strong perk).
There are A LOT of boosted players in this game, mainly because SWF gives them a fake sense of superiority over the killer, so when they do try to solo que, they lack all that information they'd normally get. And I mean..if you're in red ranks and you're going down in less than 20 seconds, you're just a bad runner. Especially at the start of the match when you have every pallet at your disposal. Theres people at red ranks as well that just don't do gens, its as if they're allergic to it. Not surprisingly, its the same ones who are bad at running a killer most of the time.
Solo que can be frustrating and it is, but its also 100x more satisfying having a good match where you and the 3 strangers all coordinate w/o comms, its like everyone is on the same page, we share hooks, we don't run the killer near the hooked person or a gen that is over 70% done, we take protection hits, we all split up and focus gens/spread pressure, etc. Those games are very fun.

Since the last chapter dropped solo q has been wayyyyyyyyyy worse. Idk whats up with it.
Solo needs a buff.

Those games are like 1 in 10. Should 9 games be frustrating just to get 1 good one that you'd normally get in swf?
IMO just make kindred basekit.

I mean yea, they don't happen often. But I also don't have horrible matches MOST of the time either, unless I play at night time and teammate quality drops heavily/matchmaking opens up to lower ranks. I mean there's no reason a rank 1/2 should be paired with a rank 19 at any point. Daytime is when I find the better teammates. I still get bad matches/bad teammates but I'd say my games go pretty normally for the most part.
SWF inflates your ego and makes you think you're better than you actually are. This game was designed around solo que, SWF was only added because the community asked for it. Once it was added, people realized very quickly how cheap and unfair it is but still engage in it because its 'fun' to play with friends and this after all is a casual game. I don't SWF mainly cause I don't find it fun to get a win over a killer. I'll do custom games with friends and screw around but its not like were bringing an SWF sweat alpha 6 team to public lobbies and toying with the killer.
& yea, a lot of people have recommended Kindred being baseline in solo que and that would go a long way by itself. But this is also BHVR were talkin bout, lol.

Nah, Solo Queue definitely does not need a buff.
Solo Queue by itself is fine, and it is a much better and more immersive experience when compared to SWF. The problem is that matchmaking often pairs you with people that are below your skill level, which leads to very bad trials.
Fix matchmaking, and Solo is fixed.

Solo Q does need a buff, and I'm sure a lot of other people here will agree with me. Matchmaking will not be fixed, I think that is pretty much obvious by now. Either make SWF and Solo a different matchmaking, or no amount of "fixing" will actually make it better.

If you buff Solo Q, you will have to buff every single killer in the game to compensate. Can you imagine how hellish this would be?
Fixing the Matchmaking, somehow, would be a much easier solution.

Solo Survivor is great, the only thing holding it back is bad matchmaking.
Give us Mmr and the only cause of failure will be personal mistakes

Waiting for somewhat proper Matchmaking since like 2018 here (back then on the PC). It frankly made me quit the game for way over a year that nothing was done. Haven't touched it on PC since.
In fact, it' s bad for both the hardcore players and the casual ones. And both killers and survivors. And I personally blame like 50% of the DCs on totally skewed trials thanks to some weirdo matchmaking mechanics. And it most likely drives off potential new players as well for good after they become shafted a couple of matches early on.

I mostly play solo survivor and let me tell you it's took years off my life π. But seriously it can be so frustrating to run the killer and see that no one's doing a thing. I'm in red/purple ranks and I expect my team to have a good understanding of the game and how it works (do gens to escape). Sometimes I get put with absolute bots and I just sit there like"why?... "

Matchmaking issue. Comes in various flavors. More examples:
1. So you unlocked your 3rd perk slot and want to try out that new Tier-2 perk as Level 13 killer (don't have any purple ones yet). And get thrown into a match with 4 survivors fully kitted, 4 purple perks each and... ranked 9,8,7. Have fun with your rank 18 killer now...
2. You land in a match with a 3-survivor SWF exclusively doing their thing all trial. And the killer ofc getting rid of the ez kill that is you. Scoreboard shows killer and SWF are all in the purple ranks, while you just hit rank 16 and are proud of your single purple perk. BHVR hopes you enjoyed being bent over...
After a couple of these you just stop putting faith in your fellow players. Faith in BHVR doing dung about Matchmaking has long ago been lost. They don't give an excremental dropping. Just enjoy the occasional/ rare decent trial you get.

Kindred is an amazing perk and I would recommend all solo players run it.
However, itβs just a perk and wonβt play the game for people. It still requires your teammates to have brains, or the desire to play with some level of altruism.
