How can I find hatch faster?
Whether I'm Killer or Survivor, usually near the end of the game whether I 4K or escape the trial depends entirely on finding the hatch before the other player.
I know about the hatch equation (iirc its Remaining Survivors + 1 = Number of Generators that need to be completed for hatch to spawn) but is there any rhyme or rhythm as to WHERE it spawns? I know it is largely random, but are there any places I should keep note to check since most of the time I'm running around like a chicken with my head cut off haha

Yeah there are pre allocated spots for the hatches to spawn. You just gotta remember them all and then patrol them when needed.

If it's Grim Pantry the hatch always spawns on one of the two main buildings. I've never seen it spawn somewhere else. Every other map is RNG, but a rule of thumb is that it never spawns on the edges of the map (except on Swamp).

If it is a two story place (like The Game, Midwich, RPD, etc), the hatch will always spawn on the first/bottom floor (basically always downstairs, never upstairs). That removes a lot of the area to search for if you are nearing the end game.
EDIT: I have not seen it myself but two people have pointed out that the RPD map evidently does not abide by this rule. Every other map to my knowledge still does but RPD I guess has found a way to make itself even worse than it already is :P

Left behind perk for survivors for killers you just have to remember spawn locations

Do you know where I can find these?

Check for offerings before or during the game. It seems like shack is a good place to check no matter what. I know on the Game it only spawns on the lower level, and I assume it's the same for Hawkins, Midwich, and ######### RPD, but I'm not sure. The Swamps have pretty predicable spawns. I only ever find it by shack or by that one smaller building with two levels. On preschool I used to see it a lot in the basement where the totem and chest also spawn, but I haven't seen it there in a very long time. On both Preschool and Haddonfield, I see the hatch spawn on the streets more than anywhere else. I think it's just going to be experience and luck, to be honest.
I rarely bother trying to find it as killer or survivor though. Usually someone has been camping it and I'd rather be doing other things than searching for the hatch. If a survivor gets it, I don't care. I'd rather the game just be over than spend 10 minutes looking for a Blendette. And as survivor, as soon as my last teammate dies, hatch is usually closed since they were camping it.

You can often find them near the exit gates. Puppers pointed this out to me. For whatever reason, I'm always surprised when I see them there. Yet I usually only check shack and main building to my own detriment.

Actually that is a good question. Mathematically there has to be an optimal route to figure out the shortest path to explore the most amount of areas that is applicable in most situations. You'd just have to control your starting point, figure out an end point, and figure out the best path to sweep the most visual area in the shortest time.
I would suppose this means picking a starting point that has the highest visibility of the most area while making sure your end point is in more hard to see areas like behind walls and inside buildings. If you eliminate impossible areas for the hatch to spawn and then assume all other locations are completely equal that would be the way to go about it. Since then you would be able to sweep a much larger percentage of the map in the shortest time, while spending the majority of the time looking around tighter areas (A smaller overall area) as the hatch is certainly more hidden.
This is in addition to trying to pick the shortest travel route to hit every location with that priority in order. It could be similar to the traveling salesman problem. Additionally I know that ants have been observed to have the most optimal routes when scouting for food in relation to how many ants are in the hunting party, and their formations can absolutely change depending on conditions.

All that said, it's DBD so we can throw all that away and treat it like totems. That is to say we can probably assume each map has a place or several where it's pretty much going to spawn at and nowhere but those designated locations.

There’s an issue currently so don’t rely on it but even at 5 gens and 4 survivors alive you’ll often find yourself walking over flat ground that slightly elevates you suddenly. That’s the hatch. Random debris can fool you but other than that you can literally figure out where the hatch is going to be mid-game and keep a mental note for later.

Thx for sharing that. I'll be bringing some shack hatch offerings for adept leon/jill this weekend and I'll definitely look for that.

To me it always spawns to the edge of the map. Im not even trying to find it, just waiting to wake up activate and gtfo of there.

This, and listen for it.

Just had a match earlier today where the hatch was on the second floor of RPD. I heard it but I was on the first floor, and the killer picked me up and brought me up to the second floor to get to it. They were so confused too

Huh. Maybe they changed it for RPD as the hatch has never spawned on a higher floor in any other map. Good to know though

Left Behind and I think keys help find hatch. Ive escaped a few times (offerings help a lot).
Other day I was on Ormond as Doctor with 5 Devour Hope stacks. 2 people killed and 3rd is on hook. I find hatch just on the outskirts of my huge TR (double calm add ons lol). I was able to watch the hook and stand on top of the hatch. I used Static Blast and saw the last person was far behind me. They couldn't rescue in time and I'm on top of hatch. Needless to say, it was a 4k lol

This isn't true about RPD, in fact, I've seen it spawn on the third floor at the library! RPD is truly a map where it's game on to find the hatch because it can literally spawn anywhere on that map. :/

Yeah, someone above pointed it out. I had never seen it spawn elsewhere but it sounds like RPD it'll spawn wherever :(
