Is the clown any good?
Just playing him since I have 20 ish cakes on him from max leveling him. But is he even fun? I feel like he just throws bottles around and that's about it. I feel like his tonics could be tweaked a little.

He’s very strong in a chase. If you HATE endless looping, Clown is the killer for you. He just requires a bit of thought on where Tonics or Antidotes should be thrown because just spamming them won’t get you anywhere.

I think he's a lot of fun, but he's definitely still widely considered one of the worst killers in the game (for good reason). It's a shame the rework didn't give him more, since he really could've used the help

He’s just a basic M1 killer who can shut down a loop.
I guess what made him fun for me is once I got a feel for using the bottles to herd survivors rather than just try and hit them with it, you can end chases fairly quickly.
I’ve yet to find a use for the invigorating bottle outside of chucking at the start to get bit of mobility to the farthest gen.

He is pretty good vs decent teams. But I personally don't find him fun to play as. Since you pretty much summed it up. Throw bottles to force survivors to drop pallets in loops, or slow them down in the open.

Some people act like he's terrible. He's just ok. He's a fairly good " I just want to relax" killer that doesn't require a lot of mechanical skill.

Is the question about fun or 'goodness'?
Fun is subjective. I play him from time to time because I enjoy doing big arc throws over los blockers and hearing the scream of the intoxicated survivor that I wouldn't even see. Others might find him fun for other reasons, while someone might find him not fun at all.
As for viability, he's a 1v1 killer with no mobility.

Adding stalk ability to him to make his gameplay fun.

He's underrated as hell. His antidotes take skill to use and it's satisfying to get the anti-loop plays, especially with both bottles.

He's a solid killer and personally I find him quite fun. The two types of bottles allow you to get creative.

He’s pretty decent and doesn’t require much practice to understand. Using the antidote is where most his skill ceiling comes from

Clown was never "weak", he's always been a killer where survivors can't do much against him making him incredibly strong in chase. I don't think he needs and more buffs, tho I wish his instadown finger addon could be changed somehow, it's the most bs instadown addon, it's slightly below old iri head

He's stronger then trickster but weaker then wraith.
he's not a good 1v4 killer but good in 1v1 this make him not fun to play against but kinda fun to play as depending on your fun.
his ability isn't the best since it chase focus which can make it harder on pressuring survivors if they play it very safe.
But he can make safe loops less safer which is a good thing but that all he does. Most killers has something else that make them good.
But try him first if you like him and if you don't is up to you on it you play him or not.

He's a decent killer, definitely underrated, the problem is that we have a lot of other killers who have way better antiloop than him right now, so it kind of makes playing him pointless unless you really like his power/design.

He’s definitely no where near the worst killer I. The game anymore. And from what I heard from Clown Mains the yellow bottles can allow for hits that otherwise couldn’t be achieved before with just purple bottles. Still not high tier but Amy killer can do fine in Solo Q. S,A,B,C,F tier Clown is High C tier
