Killer fun is the opposite of Survivor fun
In general (with a few exceptions), the more fun a Killer is to play against, the less fun they are to play.
Having chase interaction and a lot of counterplay options feels horrible for Killers. The closer a Killer is to a standard M1 Killer, the easier it is to do the classic pre-drop pallets, hold W and dead hard to safety looping that Survivors love and Killers loathe.
It's painful for me when I'm playing a weaker Killer and I realize that the matchmaking either gave me a SWF or a team of Rank 1s. I lose those matches the majority of the time, not because the Survivors are better but because they can get away with BS that only works because of my Killer choice. The Survivors have tons of fun in those matches, but I just want to DC.

yeah this is how game designed when this happens killers camp and tunnel it is like vicious circle then it becomes not fun for survivors that's actually why I made a suggetion on this forum about a fifth perk slot that activetes itself on some situations but not much people seen it the thing is there is no greys in DBD it fair or not it is fun or it isn't

Yup, that's why the strongest chase killers are often despised, spirit, slinger, nurse, PH are among the best chasers in DBD and each one of them had/has large amount of haters who want them see gutted. Any killer who in some way manages to bypass pallet safety to a high degree is often seen as unfair even if he has a lot of other weaknesses to counterweight tha strenght.
It's a pity really, I personally don't enjoy basic M1 powerless gameplay that much as if you just safely drop pallets, you're near untouchable. Only way to get hit is to be greedy for more loops then you can get. Having to face a killer with very strong chase power against you is from my POV one of the most fun things in DBD.

I think that's inherently how a asymmetric games work. Or at the very least this one. While not always, one side having fun typically means the other isn't.
Survivors looping a killer all game and saving, ######### like that is fun for the Survivor... But frustrating for the killer.
A killer getting easy downs all game or playing a powerful killer might be fun for the killer, but frustrating for the Survivors. Again this isn't always, but I see it happen this way a lot.

I would say that a strong killer is fun to play against IF you accept/enjoy losing to the killer as survivor.
Survivors genuinely hate losing and strong killers prove to be a challenge to defeat which embolden their hatred towards that killer.
I think I would say same for killer, you will find losing less painful if you believe that the reason you lost was because you played bad.
This is often not the case...... for weaker killers because a lot of the time, the classic pre-drop pallets, hold W and dead hard in loops is often not counterable for large majority of the cast, fast gens end up being out of your control.
these days though, I'd say you end up fighting against your own killer power more so than survivors. stuff like billy overheat, nemesis infection system, no sound/footsteps spirit vs Iron will, clown yellow bottles and so on.

Yeah it's true which is why I play killer less than survivor, the majority of matches you either go against a gen hugging SWF and the match is done in minutes or you do really well and then the survivors just give up, rarely do I have a fun close match.

My fun as a killer isn't predicated on how many kills I get. I don't need a 3k or 4k to have fun in a match as killer. I like being challenged as a killer - mowing over survivors and getting a 4k is not fun to me in the slightest. I enjoy survivors who can loop and mind game because my enjoyment comes from knowing that even though the match was hard - I earned my score/kills. I am the same way as survivor - I don't need to escape to have fun - I want to be chased, I want to help teammates, and I wanna do gens all while being pressured by the killer - that is fun to me.

There are some I've found who break that rule. For instance, Pig in the right hands can be fun both against and as in the same match. Trapper too, even Hillbilly. So there are grey areas, at least in my experience.

I love many interactions as a killer, chases are for both sides the only thing that drives me in DbD. I wonder why someone even plays killer when "many interaction" is a bad thing. I never understood what the point of easy downs in a multiplayer game is..

I don’t think this has to be true at all.
The most fun survivor match I’ve had lately was against a Billy. He was really good with his saw and killed all of us. Chases were fun, he ran no slowdowns which meant I wasn’t sitting on gens for 5 years, he didn’t camp or tunnel anyone so everyone got to play the match, and he got a well deserved 4k.
Another super fun match I remember was against an Oni, who was really good, and my random survivor teammates were also really good. It was a super tense match of back and forth and one person escaped. Everyone complimented each other in end game.
I’ve had tons of fun killer matches against survivors that were good. Some died, some didn’t. I’ve also had extremely unfun matches where I 4ked because the survivors just played in a very uninteresting way.
I think the game is fun for both sides when the skill match up is fair, the map and RNG is balanced, there are few stupid crutches used (e.g. keys) and good plays are rewarded. Both those survivor matches stick out to me even though I died, because dying as survivor isn’t that bad if the content of the match before your death is fun and exciting. Whereas escaping from a very uninteresting match is not fun at all.

But that's not allways the case. One thing that both survivors and killers enjoy is chases. Small-medium maps with a variety of loops and a lot of time for chasing nonstop i feel it's fun for both parties. What i really think isn't fun for both killer and survivor is maps like The Game where it is a hold W simulator and drop pallet and it feels like it's what the devs are going for, just hold w and no mindgame loops like the old maps. The new Resident Evil map looks designed by someone that has never played DBD. Its gigantic and the loops except maybe 2 big rooms are ridiculous.
I really believe fun for both parties is not necessarily exclusive.

This just in, killing as killer isn't fun for survivors and surviving as survivor isn't fun for killer. Next up, the pig nerf. Please stay tuned in to DBD forums AM

For me as Survivor, do a Gen, heal a teammate, find some totems, have a chase...able to earn 15.000 BP per match and die at the end is a good game for me. As Killer, able to pressure Survivors, make them struggle alot, is a good game for me, even if all escape.
For some, escape is a must so they Gen rush. 4k is a must so they tunnel.
For some, toxic to others is fun.

I find myself playing survivor far more than I do killer simply because at the rank that I'm at, I'll get sweaty matches with Killers that I'm not used to playing with. There's nothing I would love more than to practice with Killers I'm not used to, but I don't want to get steamrolled for hours on end. It's a shame we didn't get the offline bot mode that BHVR said we were going to get with the mid chapter update.
It also sucks when you have no other choice but to run the usual meta perks for Killers otherwise you run the risk of the game being over in minutes. I would love to tackle different builds, but I don't have thousands of hours devoted to this game. I don't know each map like the back of my hand, so I have to do what I can if I want to have any fun at all, and that usually involves using the same old tried and true tactics and methods which admittedly does get boring.
